Planning and Design Exploration of Birdwatching Town based on biodiversity Conservation: A Case Study of Wujia Village in Poyang Lake Wetland Reserve

Birdwatching tourism is a type of ecotourism. When carrying out birdwatching tourism, people should deal with the integration relationship between tourism activities and bird ecological environment protection, so as to meet the needs of the ecological civilization construction in China. Taking Wujia Village in Poyang Lake Wetland Migratory Birds Reserve as an example, the relationship between biodiversity and the behavior and needs of birdwatching tourists was analyzed, and the planning mode and design ideas suitable for birdwatching tourism towns were explored, in order to provide the experience for the planning and design of other birdwatching tourism towns.

China has released an updated national species database,known as the Catalogue of Life China 2022 Annual Checklist,according to the Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS)on May *** checklist of this year added 10,343 species compared with the 2021 checklist,bringing the total number of species to 138,293,including 68,172 animal species,46,725 plant species,and 17,173 fungi species,among *** species checklist provides data basis that is beneficial for biodiversity research,conservation and policy-making,said an official with biodiversity Committee under the CAS,adding that China is the only country that publishes the biological species checklist every year.

In Yunnan, 8 major aspects of biodiversity and fragility in landforms, ecosystems, distribution populations, alien invasion, segregation, pollution and maladministration with various menace factors causing biodiversity loss have been described. It is revealed that the facts that the biodiversity and fragility coexists in this paper. Accordingly, 6 major countermeasures for effective conservation and rational utilization of the provincial biodiversity were suggested on the basis of the scientific development concepts, principles of nature protection, conservation biology, resource management and ethnobotany and present status in Yunnan with rich intangible resources such as climatic, ethnical and cultural diversity, etc.

Ongoing consideration of the“biodiversity crisis”indicates that reaffirmation of Darwinian principles of selection and diversification,coupled with a longer view of the available and emerging data on biodiversity and the past,present,and future pressures on its maintenance,would benefit research principles,practices,goals and ***’s principles of diversification and natural selection,coupled with extinction,articulate a clear appreciation of the way that species form,diversify,further speciate,or become *** to many analyses presented in the late twentieth century(Kohn 2008;Mallet 2008),biologists have begun to see that Darwin’s conception of variation,what he called“incipient species,”and his relative lack of concern about“levels”and taxonomic names is close to the appreciation of species,given genetic and ecological information,now being *** is Darwin’s conception of lineages and their evolution as continua,with“varieties,”“species,”etc.,as sometimes indistinguishable components of lineage ***,Darwin(1859)clearly stated that natural selection operates on variation,and survival and diversification continue as long as the environment(“country”)does not change at a rate that exceeds the lineage’s capacity for adaptation.

Roots and rhizosphere soils of Acacia auriculiformis A. Cunn. ex Benth., A. mangium Wild., Artocarpus heterophyUus Lamk. C., Dalbergia sissoo Roxb. ex A. P. D., Eucalyptus camaldulensis Dehnn., Hevea brasiliensis （Wild. ex Juss） Muell. Arg., Swietenia macrophylla King. and Tectona grandis L. were collected from different locations of Madhupur forest area to study the biodiversity of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal （AM） fungal colonization and spore population. All the plants showed AM colonization. Out of eight selected plants, mycelial colonization was lowest in the roots of A. heterophyllus （22%） and the highest was in the roots of H. brasiliensis （78%）. Mycelial intensity was observed poor （25%-77%） and moderate （23%-57%） in all plants species and abundant （11%-40%） was in most of the plant species. Vesicular colonization was observed in five plant species. The lowest was recorded in E. camaldulensis （4%） and the highest was in H. brasiliensis （21%）. Poor （24%-56%）, moderate （16%-100%） and abundant （11%-40%） type of vesicular intensity were observed. Arbuscular colonization was observed in three plants. The highest was in A. mangium （72%） and the lowest was in S. macrophylla （17%）. Arbuscular intensity was recorded as poor （12%-44%）, moderate （22%-100%） and abundant （4%-47%）. The highest AM fungal spore population was in A. auriculiformis （714） and the lowest was in D. sissoo （102）. Five AM fungal genera were recorded. Glomus was found to be dominant. A few spores remained unidentified. Significant correlation was observed between percent coloniza- tion and spore population. The results of the present study indicate the occurrence of AM fungi and the mycotrophism of the plants of Madhupur forest area and the applicability of AM technology in the forest management of Madhupur forest.

Assessment of natural regeneration status and diversity of tree species in the biodiversity conservation areas of Northeastern Bangladesh

A study was conducted at two-biodivcrsity conservation areas of Northeastern Bangladesh （a part of Sylhet Forest Division） to assess the species composition, diversity and density of natural regeneration of tree species both indigenous and exotic species. Data were collected by stratified random quadrate method during January 2010 to July 2010. Totally 200 circular plots of 2 m〉〈2 m in size had 5 different habitat types of plants namely; forest, roadside, homestead （surrounding forest dwellers house）, fallow land and others （canals, streams and tea gardens side）, which included a total of 55 regenerating species belonging to 28 families. Meliaceae is the dominant family and shows the highest family importance value （26.3）, having six species, followed by Moraeeae （24.24）. Among the five habitat types, forest （43 species） possess the highes number of species, followed by roadside （23 species）. Total 15 exotic species among 9 families and 40 indigenous species with 24 families were recorded. For exotic species, Tectona grandis possess the highest relative density （11.7%） and relative frequency （10.5%）; Senna siamea had highest relative abundance （7.83%）. In case of indigenous species, Chickrassia tabularis possess the highest relative density （4.23%） and relative frequency （4%）; Dipterocarpus turbinatus bad the highest relative abundance （3.92%）. Tectona grandis （29.66） and Chickrassia tabularis （10.8） had the highest IVI for exotic and indigenous species respectively. Different diversity indic＇es such as Shanon-Winner diversity index,＇ species diversity index, species richness index, species evenness index, Simpson index and species dominance index, etc. were applied to quantify definite diversity. The plant communities and their microclimates were surveyed and observed,and the soil fertilities were determined in six plots of evergreen broadleaved forests of different sizes and similar slope aspects on Jinyun Mountains of Chongqing in China from April to October,*** relationships of biotic and abiotic factors were analyzed using the Simpson,Shannon-Wiener,and Hill diversity indices,and stepwise multilinear regression analyses *** results showed that compared with continuous evergreen broadleaved forests,five fragmentations had a lower species diversity index,and different life forms showed differences in diversity *** the decrease in patch areas,the daily differences in air temperature(ΔTa),ground surface temperature(ΔTs),daily differences in relative humidity(ΔRH),maximum wind velocity(Vmax),differences in photosynthetic available radiation(ΔPAR)(at noon)of both edges and interiors,all tended to *** wind velocity(Vmax)and photo effective radiation in forest edges were higher than those in interior forest,which presented a stronger temperature-gained edge *** all the fragmentations of evergreen broadleaved forests,the depth of the edge effect was the nearest from interior forest in the biggest patch(about 15 meters away from interior forest),while the depth of the edge effect was the farthest from interior forest in the smallest patch(about 25 meters away from interior forest).With regard to the water conservation function,soil water content improved along with increasing species *** of the nutritional function substances of soil increased with increasing species *** elements of microclimate,such as Ta,ΔTa,ΔTs,ΔRH,Vmax,and PAR,changed along with the extent of fragmented forest.

Interesting results may arise by combining studies on the structure and function of ecosystems with that of biodiversity for certain species. Grasshopper biodiversity is the result of the evolution of grassland ecosystems; however, it also impacts on the structure and the function of those ecosystems. We consider there to be a close relationship between the health of grassland ecosystems and grasshopper biodiversity. The main problems involved in this relationship are likely to include：（i） grasshopper biodiversity and its spatial pattern; （ii） the effect of grasshopper biodiversity on the ecological processes of grassland ecosystems; （iii） the biodiversity threshold of grasshopper population explosions; （iv） the relationship between grasshopper biodiversity and the natural and human factors that affect grassland ecosystems; and （v） grasshopper biodiversity and the health of grassland ecosystems. The solutions to these problems may provide sound bases for controlling disasters caused by grasshoppers and managing grassland ecosystems in the west of China. In this paper, we introduced two concepts for grasshopper biodiversity, that is, ＂spatial pattern＂ and ＂biodiversity threshold＂. It is helpful to understand the action of the spatial pattern of grasshopper biodiversity on the ecological processes of grassland ecosystems and the effect of this spatial pattern on the health of those ecosystems, owing to the fact that, in the west of China, grasslands are vast and grasshoppers are widely distributed. Moreover, we inferred that the change in the level of component richness at each type of grasshopper biodiversity can make an impact on grassland ecosystems, and therefore, there is likely to be a threshold to grasshopper biodiversity for the stability and the sustainability of those ecosystems.

Macroinvertebrates areimportantcomponents of stream ecosystems,and are often used as indicator spe-cies for the assessment of river *** studies have shown that substrate is the primary physical envir-onmental variable affecting the taxa richness and density *** aimofthiswork istostudythe effects of the characteristics of streambed substrate,such as grain size,shape,and roughness,on the composition and biodiversity of macroinvertebrates.A field experi-ment was done on the Juma River,a second-order moun-tain stream in northern *** of cobbles,hewn stones,pebbles,coarse sand,and fine sand were used to replace the original gravel and sand bed in a stretch of 30 m in *** sampling results indicated that the macroinvertebrate assemblage is significantly affected by the grain size,porosity and interstitial dimension of the substrate,while it is rarely affected by the shape and the surface roughness of the experimental *** compositions in cobbles and hewn stones were stable and changed least over *** taxa richness and density of individuals in the substrata of cobbles,hewn stones,and pebbles are much higher than in those of the coarse sand and fine sand.
