Valence variation of arsenic in bioleaching process of arsenic-bearing gold ore

The concentration and variational trend of As3 +and As 5+,the bacterial resistance for the As 3+and As 5+and converting conditions from As3 +to As 5+were *** additive was used to prompt the bacterial leaching efficiency by changing valence state of *** results show that the concentration of As 3+ is larger than that of As 5+ in the lag *** concentration of As 3+ decreases in the log phase,and is lower than that of As5 +.HQ-0211 typed bacteria express better resistance for As 3+and As 5+and remain growing when the concentrations of As3 +and As 5+are above 6.0 g/L and 12.0 g/L,*** is found that Fe 3+cannot oxidize As3 +singly as strong oxidant in the leaching system,but can cooperate with pyrite or chalcopyrite to do *** oxidation of As 3+ is prompted with addition of *** bacterial activity is improved in favor of bacterial leaching *** restrains the bacterial growth to depress leaching efficiency because of the chloric compounds affecting bacterial activity.

UV-induced mutagenesis of oxidation activity of ferrous ion of Thiobacillus ferrooxidans

An excellent strain named T.f 6 was isolated and screened, the dose and other condition for the UV induced mutagenesis were studied and the richened positive mutant m +T.f 6 was applied in the column leaching of copper containing sulfides. The results show that T.f 6 is characterized by rapid oxidation of ferrous ion and cupric sulfide, high tolerance of toxic ion and short generation time. The best mutagenic effectiveness can be obtained under the dose of low kill rate of UV and low temperature treatment, under which the best richened m +T.f 6 can be shortened 1.4?h. It was shown by the column leaching of copper that the leaching rate can be enhanced by at least 11% compared with the original one by the mutants.

Empirical model for bio-extraction of copper from low grade ore using response surface methodology

The copper extraction in shaking bioreactors was modeled and optimized using response surface methodology（RSM）. Influential parameters in the mesophilic bioleaching process of a low-grade copper ore including p H value, pulp density, and initial concentration of ferrous ions were comprehensively studied. The effect of leaching time on the response（copper extraction） at the 1st, 4th, 9th, 14 th and 22 nd days of treatment was modeled and examined. The central composite design methodology（CCD） was used as the design matrix to predict the optimal level of these parameters. Then, the model equation at the 22 nd day was optimized using the quadratic programming（QP） to maximize the total copper extraction within the studied experimental range. Under the optimal condition（initial p H value of 2.0, pulp density of 1.59%, and initial concentration of ferrous ions of 0 g/L）, the total copper extraction predicted by the model is 85.98% which is significantly close to that obtained from the experiment（84.57%）. The results show that RSM could be useful to predict the maximum copper extraction from a low-grade ore and investigate the effects of variables on the final response. Besides, a couple of statistically significant interactions are derived between p H value and pulp density as well as p H value and initial ferrous ion concentration which are precisely interpreted. However, there is no statistically significant interaction between the initial ferrous ion concentration and the pulp density. Additionally, the response at optimal levels of p H value and pulp density is found to be independent on the level of initial ferrous concentration.

The leaching process of uraninite ore was divided into the acidification and bacterial leaching stages,and the two stage leaching experiments and the control were conducted with 3 columns,each being charged with 20 kg uraninite *** ore contained 0.113%uranium,1.859%iron and large amounts of silica and *** the acidification stage,high to low concentration sulfuric acid solutions were used to acidify the uranium ore in each column until the pH of the pregnant leach solution from each column was maintained at *** acidification lasted for 18 d and the uranium recoveries for the three columns reached about 70%.In the bacterial leaching stage,column 1,as the control,continued to be leached with sulfuric acid solution with pH = 2.0,column 2,with the bacterial solution based on the indirect leaching mechanism,and column 3,with the bacterial solution based on the direct leaching *** leaching in this stage was continued until the concentrations of the uranium in the pregnant leach solutions from the three columns amounted to less than 50 mg/*** stage lasted for 20 d and the final uranium recoveries for columns 1,2 and 3 reached 73.72%,78.97%and 75.79%,respectively.
