Studies on the Interaction between Rutin and DNA in the Absence and Presence of β-cyclodextrin by Electro- chemical and Spectroscopic Methods

The interactions between rutin or the inclusion complex of rutin-b-cyclodextrin and DNA were investigated by means of cyclic voltammetry, UV-vis absorption spectroscopy and fluorescence emission spectroscopy. The appar-ent binding constant of rutin with DNA is found to be 2.9×104 L/mol. The results showed that the ben-zopyranic-4-one plane of rutin mainly intercalated into DNA in the absence of b-cyclodextrin, while the catecholic portion of rutin was located in the double helix of DNA in the presence of b-cyclodextrin.

Efficient and rapid capture of uranium(Ⅵ) in wastewater via multiamine modified β-cyclodextrin porous polymer

It is quite important to ensure the safety and sustainable development of nuclear energy for the treatment of radioactive wastewater. To treat radioactive wastewater efficiently and rapidly, two multi-amine β-cyclodextrin polymers(diethylenetriamine β-cyclodextrin polymer(DETA-TFCDP) and triethylenetetramine β-cyclodextrin polymer(TETA-TFCDP)) were prepared and applied to capture uranium. Results exhibited that DETA-TFCDP and TETA-TFCDP displayed the advantages of high adsorption amounts(612.2and 628.2 mg·g-1, respectively) and rapid adsorption rates, which can reach(88 ± 1)% of their equilibrium adsorption amounts in 10 min. Moreover, the adsorbent processes of DETA-TFCDP and TETATFCDP on uranium(Ⅵ) followed the Langmuir model and pseudo-second-order model, stating they were mainly chemisorption and self-endothermic. besides, TETA-TFCDP also showed excellent selectivity in the presence of seven competing cations and could be effectively reused five times via Na2CO3as the desorption reagent. Meanwhile, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy illustrated that the enriched multi-amine groups and oxygen-containing functional groups on the surface of TETA-TFCDP were the main active sites for capturing uranium(Ⅵ). Hence, multi-amine β-cyclodextrin polymers are a highly efficient, rapid, and promising adsorbent for capturing uranium(Ⅵ)from radioactive wastewater.

A novel type of functional graphene oxide nanosheets(GNs)modified with b-cyclodextrins(b-CDs)have been developed by coating dopamine-functionalized cyclodextrin(DACD)molecules on GNs for removing bisphenol A(bPA)molecules from *** DACD molecules with both b-CD groups for achieving adsorption property and dopamine(DA)groups for achieving adhesion property are synthesized by grafting DA onto carboxymethyl-b-cyclodextrin(CmbCD).The proposed DACD molecules can be firmly coated on the surfaces of various inorganic and organic *** to the large specific surface area of GNs,DACD-coated GNs(DACD@GNs)are proposed for efficient adsorption separation of bPA molecules from *** to the host-gust complexation between the bPA molecules in water and b-CDs on DACD@GNs,the fabricated DACD@GNs exhibit excellent adsorption *** adsorption kinetics can be explained via the pseudo-second-order model *** experimental adsorption capacity of DACD@GNs is 11.29 mg·g^(-1) for ***,after the adsorption process,the DACD@GNs can be easily separated from aqueous solutions via vacuum filtration with porous membranes,and then regenerated by simply washing with *** proposed strategy in this study can be used for effectively functionalizing the surfaces of various substrates with functional b-CDs,which is highly promising in applications in the field of adsorption separations,especially water treatments.

In this paper, photoinduced electron transfer(PET) phosphoroionophore, N-(1-bromo- 2-naphthylmethyl)-diethanolamine (bND) was synthesized and its phosphorescent characteristics were studied. The experimental results showed that strong phosphorescence could be observed in b-cyclodextrin aqueous solution only at low pH value. This system combined AND and NOT function to produce a three-input inhibit (INH) logic gate.
