Turkey has given importance to the development of the automobile industry since the Ottoman period.While the Ottomans,who were aware of the development process of the automobile industry in the world,provided transportation by horse-drawn carriage,they thought of importing automobiles for the Sultan and high-level bureaucrats in an effort to switch to automobile transportation.However,after the proclamation of the Republic,automobile production started,just like airplanes.While a factory was established for the production of a domestic aircraft,the first automobile production facility was established in Istanbul in 1929 by the American Ford company.This factory was closed after a short time due to the world economic crisis.After the activities of the Kayseri Aircraft Factory,which lasted until 1948,came to an end,this time,Revolution car prototypes could be manufactured completely domestically in 1961.After the project,which did not go into mass production,the KoçGroup started to produce the domestically-made Anadol car with technology transfer from multiple sources in 1967,but the production of Anadol continued until 1984.In 1971,Renault cars started to be produced under the French Renault license,and TOFAŞcars under the Italian FIAT license.Towards the end of the 1970s,creative imitation applications were made in TOFAŞcars with the bird series.In the 1990s,the production of Japanese Honda and Toyota and South Korean Hyundai cars started.In 2011,the idea of producing a domestic automobile emerged,the Devrim automobile was taken as an example in this project,the first Togg prototype was manufactured with technology transfer from multiple sources in December 2018,and it was announced that mass production would begin in March 2023.The 12-year period from 2011 to 2023 is too long for the creation of a domestic automobile.It has been understood that this long process has been passed in order to regain the pre-1980 level of technological ability.However,the most important thing is the transition from the creative imit

Developing countries are encouraged to pursue environmental protection and industrial development simultaneously,although it is a big challenge to reach win-win situation.This study explored the relationshipbetween environmental regulations and the industry enhancement in developing countries through conducting an empirical analysis of the impact of environmental regulationson Chinese automobile industry.In the empirical analysis,a total of64Chinese automobile enterprises were investigated,the Malmquist index of total factor productivity was adopted to determine the productivity of Chinese automobiles,and the two-step system Generalised Method of Moments(GMM)estimation was used for the regressionanalysis.The resultsshowedthat environmental regulations negatively affected the productivity and technology of Chinese automobile industry during 2004-2018.The production costof automobile industry in China was rising sharply,and the productivity and technological progress of Chinese automobile industry were impeded significantly.The case of Chinese automobile industry illustrated that strict environmental requirements can negatively impact industry productivity by increasing production costs and squeezing industry profits.

In today’s fast-challenging business environment,automobile manufacturers are required to supply customers with high-quality vehicles at competitive prices.However,existing research on factors influencing service quality lacks a detailed and systematic understanding,and there is no consensus study on causal relationship and measuring the weights of service quality factors in the automotive manufacturing industry.This study provides an integrated technique for evaluating the automotive service quality in the context of VinFast-the Vietnamese leading brand.First,the Grey Theory System(GTS)is utilized to estimate the subjective views of the decision maker(DM)and overcome incomplete and vague decision information.Then,a Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory approach integrated with GTS(Grey-DEMATEL)is proposed not only to define the cause-effect factors but also to quantify the causal relationship of proposed criteria,which is based on comprehensive analyses of the current service quality literature and experts’opinions,as well as to capture the criteria weights.The results show that the weights of main criteria can be sorted as follow:Tangibility>Reliability>Assurance>Pricing>Empathy>Responsiveness.Among the proposed sub-criteria,Pricing is the top concern compared to other dimensions,making it a prerequisite for VinFast.The causal relationships of VinFast’s service quality are discovered by the Grey-DEMATEL technique.The findings also indicated a rising need for VinFast to focus on Empathy.Furthermore,the proposed model might be used as a decision support tool to contribute to the literature on service quality,provide recommendations for future study,and assist managers in improving service qualitymore efficiently.

With the vigorous development of automobile industry,in-vehicle network is also constantly upgraded to meet data transmission requirements of emerging applications.The main transmission requirements are low latency and certainty especially for autonomous driving.Time sensitive networking(TSN)based on Ethernet gives a possible solution to these requirements.Previous surveys usually investigated TSN from a general perspective,which referred to TSN of various application fields.In this paper,we focus on the application of TSN to the in-vehicle networks.For in-vehicle networks,we discuss all related TSN standards specified by IEEE 802.1 work group up to now.We further overview and analyze recent literature on various aspects of TSN for automotive applications,including synchronization,resource reservation,scheduling,certainty,software and hardware.Application scenarios of TSN for in-vehicle networks are analyzed one by one.Since TSN of in-vehicle network is still at a very initial stage,this paper also gives insights on open issues,future research directions and possible solutions.

While analyzing how the global automobile landscape has shifted and what role the Chinese automobile industry is playing in the global value chain,this paper points out that traditional automobile superpowers are being overtaken by emerging markets and countries;though China’s position in the global automobile industry keeps rising,it is yet to be intimately involved and incorporated into each link of the global value chain.China is now somehow stuck in the middle reaches of the global value chain and is susceptible to being replaced by other countries and regions in the global automobile trade.Under new circumstances,the Chinese automobile industry must step up its transformation from depending on scale and speed to seeking quality and profitability.Not only must China consistently and steadily promote openness within its automobile industry and steadfastly hold on to trade liberalization and economic globalization,but also must deepen its reform to improve the internal institutional environment for the development of its automobile industry.

Study on the M＆A Performance of Chinese automobile industry Based on the Industrial Evolution

Facing fierce international competition,improving the ability of independent innovation is a major problem that China needs to solve urgently.Therefore,it is necessary to build a good innovation ecosystem.In this paper,we construct the automobile industry innovation ecosystem and analyze automobile industrial upgrading from two perspectives:the influence of innovation environment and the interaction between various entities in the industrial innovation ecosystem,which is analogous to the two dimensions of environmental synergy evolution and Co-evolution between species in the biological field.Finally,some suggestions which are connected with problems in the automotive industry are put forward.

Diversifying Clean Water: An Examination of Drinking Water Quality and Social Disparities in Michigan

Based on the analysis of global and Chinese auto industry through industry evolution theory,a conclusion is drawn that the Chinese automobile industry is at the late growth stage of industry evolution.According to the relationship between Industrial Development and M＆A,the horizontal merger is more suitable for the enterprise in the growth stage and the late maturity stage.In this paper,the M＆A events of Chinese listed companies in the automotive industry between 2002 and 2009 are selected as samples and these samples are divided into horizontal merger and vertical merger.On the basis of accounting research method which uses four financial indicators to evaluate financial performance before the year of acquisition,in the year of acquisition and after the year of acquisition respectively,the results show that for horizontal merger,the financial performance in the acquisition year improves significantly while the performance of the year after the acquisition does not get better.However,for vertical merger,there is not a significant improvement in performance during and after the year of acquisition.

Water is one of the most essential resources required to sustain life. However, it could be detrimental to the health of those without access to water that is properly treated. Although the Safe Drinking Water Act of 1974 set regulations to protect citizens from naturally occurring and man-made contaminants, some people are still without clean and safe water, which is speculated to be because of their race. This research examines the disproportionality of available clean water provided by government sources in Michigan and its correlation with race and household income. In the study, it has been found that one of the leading causes of water contamination is industrial activity, with the automobile industry being responsible for approximately 300 million tons of lead contamination in water, and that the manufacturing company’s locations mostly centered in minority and low-income areas. Lower income cities, such as Hamtramck and Benton Harbor, have an average of 14.8 drinking water standard violations with the highest being 99 total violations, while higher income cities, like Novi and Bloomfield hills, have an average of 4 violations. Cities, like Flint and Detroit, which have a higher minority population, are 10 times more likely to have a water standard violation, and the minority population is proportionally related to the possibility of industrial manufacturing being located in those areas. These communities also face a higher risk of birth defects, developmental issues in children, and organ failure in adults, due to continuous exposure to water contaminants. Race as a direct causation could not be proven, but there are links to direct correlation through historical redlining and housing trends.
