New shift schedule for automatic transmission is proposed from the point ofview of saving energy. The bench-test of automatic shift adopting this shift schedule is done onautomatic transmission's test-bed. The experimental results show the shift schedule is correct. Thisshift schedule has enriched the theory of vehicle automatic maneuvering and will improve theefficiency of hydrodynamic drive system of the vehicle.

From the point of view of saving energy, a new shift schedule and auto-controlling strategy for automatic transmission are proposed. In order to verify this shift schedule, a simulation program using a software package of Matlab/ Simulink is developed. The simulation results show the shift schedule is correct. This shift schedule has enriched the theory of vehicle automatic maneuvering and will improve the efficiency of hydrodynanic drive system of the vehicle.

In order to improve the shift quality, a linear quadratic optimal tracking control algorithm for automatic transmission shift process is proposed. The dynamic equations of the shift process are derived using a Lagrange method. And a powertrain model is built in the Matlab/Simulink and veri- fied by the measurements. Considering the shift jerk and friction loss during the shift process, the tracking trajectories of the turbine speed and output shaft speed are defined. Furthermore, the linear quadratic optimal tracking control performance index is proposed. Based on the Pontryagin＇ s mini- mum principle, the optimal control law of the shift process is presented. Finally, the simulation study of the 1 - 2 upshift process under different load conditions is carried out with the powertrain model. The simulation results demonstrate that the shift jerk and friction loss can be significantly re- duced by applying the proposed optimal tracking control method.

Wet clutch is an important shifting component in automatic transmission,and its properties will affect the gear shift performance. By comparing the calculated and test results,the static friction torque model was proved to be capable of describing the real pressure and torque only in the situation of high-energy ***,a dynamic torque model was proposed on basis of hydrodynamic properties between friction surfaces, in which the clutch engagement was divided into three phases for hydrodynamic lubrication, mixed lubrication, and mechanical contact. The proposed dynamic torque model was validated by comparing the calculated and test results. The effects of temperature,pressure,and pressure changing rate of automatic transmission fluid( ATF) on the clutch torque were analyzed. Based on these results,the clutchto-clutch torque control during shifting in automatic transmission was optimized,and as a result,the shifting comfort was significantly improved since the problems such as the fluctuation and sudden drop of the engine rotating speed during shifting were eliminated.

Desktop calibration of automatic transmission(AT) is a method which can reduce cost, enhance efficiency and shorten the development periods of a vehicle effectively. We primary introduced the principle and approach of desktop calibration of AT based on the condition of coupling characteristics between engine and torque converter and obtained right point exactly. It is shown to agree with experimental measurements reasonably well. It was used in different applications abroad based on AT technology and achieved a good performance of the vehicle compared with traditional AT technology which primary focuses on the drivability, performance and fuel consumption.

In order to address the customer complaint the fuel consumption of an automatic transmission vehicle,the calibration data of both engine and the automatic transmission are analyzed in *** is found that the cut-off of vehicle deceleration fuel,automatic transmission gear-shifting curve,and engine idle speed can be optimized to reduce the fuel consumption of the vehicle through calibration *** with the original calibration,the new calibration greatly reduces the fuel consumption both on the actual urban driving condition and the NEDC cycle.

In this paper,an active disturbance rejection controller （ADRC） is proposed for the gear shift operation of automatic *** this approach,model uncertainties including steady state errors,unmodelled dynamics and disturbances which are known or unknown are treated as a total *** total disturbance can be estimated using the extended state observer （ESO）,and a nonlinear state error feedback controller is designed to make the clutch speed difference tracking the desired ***,the designed controller is tested on an AMESim power-train simulation *** results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

An energy loss during the operation of the Electric 2-Speed automatic transmission,which will generate heat and make the transmission bear a thermal ***,it is necessary to make a steady-state thermal analysis of *** this paper,the mathematical model of transmission is established based on the theory of heat *** on the finite element theory,the temperature field distribution and heat flux distribution of the whole transmission are *** results show that the modification of the gear height on the addendum can reduce the temperature of the gear;transmission lubrication system need to be further optimized;The heat convection between the wall surface of the box has little effect on the *** temperature of each part conform to the requirements of the *** analysis results provide a theoretical basis for the optimization of transmission efficiency.

Current research of automatic transmission(AT)mainly focuses on the improvement of driving performance,and configuration innovation is one of the main research ***,finding new configurations of ATs is one of the main limitations of configuration *** the present study,epicyclic gear trains(EGTs)are applied to investigate mechanisms of 9-speed *** four kinematic configurations are proposed for automatic *** order to evaluate the performance of proposed mechanisms,the lever analogy method is applied to conduct kinematic and mechanical *** power flow analysis is conducted,and then transmission efficiencies are calculated based on the torque *** comparative analysis between the proposed and existing mechanisms is carried out where obtained results show that proposed mechanisms have reasonable performance and can be used in *** prototype of an AT is manufactured and the speed test is conducted,which proves the accuracy of analysis and the feasibility of proposed mechanisms.
