A Wideband High-Gain Sawtooth Slot Array antenna with Frequency-Scanning at Lower Frequency and Fixed-Beam at Higher Frequency

Exploring the multifunctional array antenna suitable for complex communication environment has very important research value. In this paper, a millimeter wave(mm-wave) double longitudinal sawtooth slot array antenna(DLSA) based on substrate integrated waveguide(SIW) technology is proposed, which has wideband, highgain and novel beam characteristics. Two irregular longitudinal slots are etched on the SIW conductor surface as the radiation structure. To improve the bandwidth of the DLSA, the metallized vias are added at the transition point of the slots to construct multiple resonant frequency points. By adjusting the size of the slots and the position of the metallized vias, the phase constant can be regulated, and the unusual beam characteristics can be obtained. That is to say, in the lower frequency band, the beam pointing angle increases with frequency. In the higher frequency band,the beam pointing angle is maintained at a fixed angle. Finally, to improve the antenna gain, a 16 × 8 DLSA is fabricated, measured and discussed. The proposed antenna has an impedance matching bandwidth close to 9.7 *** 27 to 33 GHz, the beam pointing angle changes from 8° to 29°. From 33 to 37 GHz, the beam pointing angle is fixed at 29°, and the pointing angle error range is ±1°. In addition, the measured maximum gain is 22.9 d Bi at32 GHz.

This paper proposes a novel low scattering tightly coupled dipole array(TCDA), aiming to reduce the radar cross section(RCS) of phased antenna arrays under a certain oblique incident wave. First, we build three types of antenna elements that exhibit similar radiation characteristics but diverse reflection phase differences based on the proposed theoretical analysis. The required reflection phase difference is achieved by using different dielectric superstrates for each antenna element. Then, by arranging the three types of subarrays next to each other, a low scattering TCDA(8 × 9) is designed. Meanwhile, a reference antenna array with a single type of antenna element is also constructed. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed RCS reduction technique, simulated and measured results of the reference and proposed antenna array are compared. Both antenna arrays operate over the 6–18 GHz frequency band and can scan up to ±45° in the E-/H-planes. However, the proposed antenna array achieves a significant monostatic RCS reduction over 8–12 GHz, with a maximum reduction value of 7.55 d B. It indicates that this diverse element reflection phase technique is a good candidate for wideband RCS reduction.

By using a novel meta-resonator structure, a miniaturized, surface mountable, shared aperture, and hybrid electric/magnetic dipole pattern diversity antenna is proposed for Internet of things（IoT） applications. By exploring the shared electric（E-dipole） and magnetic dipole（M-dipole） structures, a novel T-shaped split-ring resonator（SRR） with even and odd modes is presented and studied by current distributions and equivalent *** and omnidirectional（monopole-like） patterns are achieved by exciting the M-dipole and E-dipole modes of the T-shaped SRR, respectively. To validate the proposed design, this shared aperture metamaterial-inspired pattern diversity antenna with a small size of 0.295λ0× 0.0065λ0× 0.115λ0is fabricated and measured. The measured overlapped-10 dB bandwidth is from 3.40 GHz to 3.63 GHz（7.0%, covering the LTE B42 band） and the port isolation is greater than 23 dB. Both two modes achieve a good radiation efficiency better than-0.79 d B（>83.0%）.

A compact filtering antenna system with wide-angle scanning is proposed for vehicle to infrastructure(V2I) communication which would handle complex communication scenarios. In this work, a wide beam filtering antenna is realized by using some inductive resistance structures such as metal pins and pillars, and capacitive structures such as slots, parasitical patches to produce the radiation nulls at two sides of the operating frequency band and improve the impedance matching in the passband. Meanwhile, the wide beam capability is also realized by the above structure. Furthermore, two H-and E-plane linear arrays are designed for the beam scanning capability with filtering characteristics based on the proposed antenna. To verify the proposed design concept, a prototype is fabricated and measured. The measurement and simulation agree well, demonstrating an excellent filtering characteristic with the operating frequency band from 3.18 to 3.45 GHz(about 8.1%), the high total efficiency of about 88%, and 3-d B-beamwidth of more than 100° and 120° in the above two arrays, respectively. Additionally, the proposed arrays can realize the beam scanning up to the coverage of 112° and 120° with a lower gain reduction and a good filtering characteristic, respectively.

Anechoic chambers are used for indoor antenna measurements. The common method of constructing an anechoic chamber is to cover all inside walls by the electromagnetic absorbers. In this paper, a fully metallic spherical chamber structure is presented in which the propagation of the electromagnetic waves inside the chamber is controlled and they are guided to an absorber. In the proposed method, an appropriate quiet zone is obtained, and unlike ordinary anechoic chambers, the absorber usage amount is reduced greatly. The performance of the chamber is evaluated by simulation. The results show that the proposed method could provide a useful technique for the indoor antenna measurements.

This work provides the design and analysis of a single layer,linearly polarized millimeter wave reflectarray antenna with mutual coupling *** analysis was carried out at 26GHz design frequency using the simulations of the reflectarray unit cells as well as the periodic reflectarray *** simulated results were verified by the scattering parameter and far-fieldmeasurements of the unit cell and periodic arrays,*** agreement between the simulated and measured results was observed in all the *** from the unit cells and reflectarray,the waveguide and horn antenna were also fabricated to be used in the *** measured scattering parameter results of the proposed circular ring unit cells provided a maximum reflection loss of 2.8 dB with phase errors below 10°.On the other hand,the measured far-field results of the 20×20 reflectarray antenna provided a maximum gain of 26.45 dB with a maximum 3 dB beam width of 12°and 1 dB gain drop bandwidth of 13.1%.The performance demonstrated by the proposed reflectarray antenna makes it a potential candidate to be used in modern-day applications such as 5th Generation(5G)and 6th Generation(6G)communication systems.

In this paper, a 4.2–7.2 GHz(52.6%)beam-steering microstrip antenna was proposed. The proposed antenna consists of three tapered slots and *** three radiation directions of the antenna on the plane are independent of each other, and the three feeds correspond to the three radiation structures. Symmetry isolation trenches are introduced to improve isolation between different ports. Radiation pattern simulation and measurement show horizontal beam steering at the sampled frequencies of 4.2, 5, 6, and 7.2 GHz. The results shows that the overlapped beam of the three ports in the Eplane and H-plane can cover more than 200 degrees and 60degrees, respectively. Apart from the capability of beamsteering, high isolation(more than 28 d B) of the proposed antenna in the operating band is obtained.

A two-element dual-band flexible multiin multi-out antenna which can be used for wearable applications is proposed in this paper. The antenna consists of two radiating elements fed by coplanar waveguide, and a shielding layer, which are all made of flexible conductive cloth MKKTN260. Each radiating element is composed of two coupled split ring-shaped bending strips. The proposed antenna shows two measured impedance bandwidth(S1130 dB) has been achieved for both the bands. Other characteristics for wearable applications like gain, efficiency, specific absorption rate, and bending performances were also studied.
