Impact parameter dependence of the scaling of anisotropic flows in intermediate energy heavy-ion collisions

The scaling behaviors of anisotropic flows of light charged particles are studied for 25 MeV/u 40Ca＋40Ca collisions at different impact parameters by the isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics model. The nucleon- number scaling of elliptic flow exists and the scaling of the ratios of v4/v2 2 and v3/（v1v2） is applicable to collisions at almost all impact parameters except for peripheral collisions.

Elliptic flow （v2） and hexadecupole flow （v4） of light clusters have been studied in detail for 25 MeV/nucleon ^86Kr ＋ ^124Sn at large impact parameters by using a quantum molecular dynamics model with different potential parameters. Four sets of parameters including soft or hard equation of state （EOS） with or without symmetry energy term are used. Both number-of-nucleon （A） scaling of the elliptic flow versus transverse momentum （Pt） and the scaling of v4/A^2 versus （pt/A）^2 have been demonstrated for the light clusters in all above calculation conditions. It is also found that the ratio of v4/v2^2 maintains a constant of 1/2 which is independent of pt for all the light fragments. Comparisons among different combinations of the EOS and the symmetry potential term show that the above scaling behaviours are sound and independent of the details of potential, while the strengths of flows are sensitive to the EOS and the symmetry potential term.

Heavy flavor particles provide important probes of the microscopic structure and thermodynamic properties of the quark-gluon plasma(QGP)produced in high-energy nucleus-nucleus *** studied the energy loss and flow of charm and bottom quarks inside the QGP via the nuclear modification factor(R_(AA))and elliptic flow coefficient(v_(2))of their decayed leptons in heavy-ion collisions at the *** dynamical evolution of the QGP was performed using the CLVisc(3+1)-dimensional viscous hydrodynamics model;the evolution of heavy quarks inside the QGP was simulated with our improved Langevin model that considers both collisional and radiative energy loss of heavy quarks;the hadronization of heavy quarks was simulated via our hybrid coalescence-fragmentation model;and the semi-leptonic decay of D and B mesons was simulated via *** the same spatial diffusion coefficient for charm and bottom quarks,we obtained smaller R_(AA) and larger v_(2) of charm decayed leptons than bottom decayed leptons,indicating stronger energy loss of charm quarks than bottom quarks inside the QGP within our current model setup.

The chiral magnetic effect(CME)is a novel transport phenomenon,arising from the interplay between quantum anomalies and strong magnetic fields in chiral *** high-energy nuclear collisions,the CME may survive the expansion of the quark-gluon plasma fireball and be detected in *** the past two decades,experimental searches for the CME have attracted extensive interest at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider(RHIC)and the Large Hadron Collider(LHC).The main goal of this study is to investigate three pertinent experimental approaches:the$\gamma$correlator,the R correlator,and the signed balance *** exploit simple Monte Carlo simulations and a realistic event generator(EBE-AVFD)to verify the equivalence of the core components among these methods and to ascertain their sensitivities to the CME signal and the background contributions for the isobar collisions at the RHIC.

A method for investigating the azimuthal correlations between directed and elliptic flow in heavy ion collisions is described. The transverse anisotropy of particle emission at AGS energies is investigated within the RQMD model. It is found that the azimuthal correlations between directed and elliptic flow are sensitive to the incident energy and impact parameter. The fluctuations in the initial stage and dynamical evolution of heavy ion collisions are not negligible.
