We investigate the ground-state density distributions of interacting one-dimensional Bose gases with anisotropic transversal *** the exact ground state energy density of homogeneous Bose gases with local density approximation,we determine the density distribution in each interacting regime for different anisotropic *** is shown that the transversal anisotropic parameter changes the density distribution obviously,and the observed density profiles on each orientation exhibit a difference of a factor.

Ceramics are usually composed of randomly oriented grains and intergranular phases, so their properties are the statistical average along each direction and show isotropy corresponding to the uniform microstructures. Some methods have been developed to achieve directional grain arrangement and preferred orientation growth during ceramic preparation, and then textured ceramics with anisotropic properties are obtained. Texture microstructures give particular properties to ceramics along specific directions, which can effectively expand their application fields. In this review, typical texturing techniques suitable for ceramic materials, such as hot working, magnetic alignment, and templated grain growth(TGG), are discussed. Several typical textured structural ceramics including α-Al2O3 and related nacre bioinspired ceramics, Si3N4 and SiAlON, h-BN, MB2 matrix ultra-high temperature ceramics, MAX phases and their anisotropic properties are presented.

Transformation acoustics are concentrated for the purpose of designing novel acoustic devices to tailor acoustic waves to achieve desirable characteristics. However, these devices require fluid or fluid-like materials with an anisotropic density that generally does not exist in nature. Therefore, we introduce pentamode metamaterials into an alternating multilayer isotropic medium model to build fluid-like metamaterials with an anisotropic density. A 2D acoustic bending based on transformation acoustics is established and investigated to verify our method. This idea provides a method to design broadband and physically realizable acoustic metamaterials with an anisotropic density and is meaningful for the design of acoustic metamaterials.

A proper form of the Rayleigh number, containing the geometric mean of the vertical and horizontal permeabilities was obtained. The critical value for the onset of stable convection was found. The results proved analytically and numerically that anisotropy in permeability resists the initiation of hydrothermal convection. The equivalence between homogeneously anisotropic media and multiply fractured media was also investigated. It was confirmed that multiply fractured models are comparable to anisotropic models as long as they have the same averaged horizontal or vertical permeabilities and other physical parameters.

An anisotropic nonconforming finite element method is presented for a class of nonlinear Sobolev equations. The optimal error estimates and supercloseness are obtained for both semi-discrete and fully-discrete approximate schemes, which are the same as the traditional finite element methods. In addition, the global superconvergence is derived through the postprocessing technique. Numerical experiments are included to illustrate the feasibility of the proposed method.

In present paper, a static, spherically symmetric, anisotropic stellar object has been discussed by assuming a linear relationship between the matter density ρ and radial pressure pr. The interior solution is continuously matched with the exterior Schwarzschild vacuum solution at the junction interface. Various physical features viz. energy conditions,mass-radius relationship, stability are analyzed for our stellar model. By assigning some particular value to the arbitrary constants we have obtained a model of compact star of radius 6.7 km. and mass 1.148 M_⊙, which is very close to the observational data of the compact star Her X-1 proposed by Rawls et al. [Rawls, et al., Astrophys. J. 730(2011) 25].We have obtained that the model satisfies all the regularity conditions. We have found that our proposed model is stable as well as singularity-free.
