Female internal reproductive systems of nine species in the genus Tipula are described and illustrated,namely T.(Beringotipula)amurensis Alexander,1925,T.(Lunatipula)lunata Linnaeus,1758,T.(Lunatipula)submanca Savchenko,1964,T.(Pterelachisus)biaciculifera Alexander,1937,T.(Sivatipula)parvauricula Alexander,1941,T.(Vestiplex)longitudinalis Nielsen,1929,T.(Vestiplex)sternotuberculata Alexander,1935,T.(Yamatotipula)couckei Tonnoir,1921 and T.(Yamatotipula)marginella Theowald,*** morphological differences of internal reproductive organs for these species are ***,taxonomic potential of some internal reproductive structures are analyzed and discussed.

THE OCCURRENCE AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE ADVENTITIOUS ROOTS FORMING GREEN SHOOT CUTTING OF LARIX OLGENSIS

The experiment with the green shoot cutting propagation of Larix olgensis was made in the Maoer Mountain Forestry Farm on July 5, 1990. After the callus formed of the cutting base before adventitious roots came out the materials were collected from the cutting base and fixed in FAA solution. By the paraffin sections and anatomical observatio-n. the results indicted that it needed 40 days from the cutting to the rooting. The induced primordium of the cutting was endogenous in origin, which came from : (1) vascular cambium of the callus, and became roots; (2) meristematic cell population in the intersect between the cambium and xylem ray of the cutting base. There were extruding, crushing process and enzymolysis when the adventitious roots broke through the outer layers in two rooting types.

Quantitative comparison of cranial approaches in the anatomy laboratory: A neuronavigation based research method

AIMTo describe the development and validation of a novel neuronavigation-based method, which allows the quan-tification of the anatomical features that define anapproach, as well as real-time visualization of the surgicapyramid. METHODSThe method was initially developed with commercially-available hardware for coordinate collection （a digitizerand a frameless navigation system） and software forvolume rendering; dedicated neuronavigation software （ApproachViewer, part of GTx-UHN） was then developed. The accuracy of measurements and the possibility of volumetric rendering of surgical approaches simulated in a phantom were compared among three different methods and commercially-available radiological software. In the anatomy laboratory, ApproachViewer was applied to the comparative quantitative analysis of multiple neurosurgical approaches and was used by many surgeons who were untrained for the research *** accuracy of ApproachViewer is comparable to com-mercially-available radiological software. In the anatomy laboratory, the method appears versatile. The system can be easily used after brief training. ApproachViewer allows for real-time evaluation and comparison of surgical approaches, as well as post-dissection analyses of collected data. The accuracy of the method depends on the navigation registration： with a 1-2 mm registration error, it is adequate for evaluation and comparison of most neurosurgical *** new research method and software allows semi-automated visualization, quantifcation, and comparison of neurosurgical approaches in the anatomy laboratory.
