Background： Limited availability of fish meal and whey protein concentrate increases overall feed costs. Availability of increased number of supplemental amino acids including Lys, Met, Thr, Trp, Val, and lie allows replacing expensive protein supplements to reduce feed costs. This study was to evaluate the effect of replacing fish meal and/or whey protein concentrate in nursery diets with 6 supplemental amino acids on growth performance and gut health of post-weaning pigs. Treatments were 1） FM-WPC： diet with fish meal （FM） and whey protein concentrate （WPC）; 2） FM-AA： diet with FM and crystalline amino acids （L-Lys, L-Thr, L-Trp, DL-Met, L-Val, and L-lie）; 3） WPC-AA： diet with WPC and crystalline amino acid; and 4） AA： diet with crystalline amino acid. Results： Pigs in FM-AA, WPC-AA, and AA had greater （P 〈 0.0.5） ADG and gain：feed than pigs in FM-WPC during wk ] （phase 1）. Plasma insulin concentration of pigs in AA tended to be greater （P = 0.064） than that of FM-WPC at the end of wk 1 （phase 1）. Plasma concentrations of IgG in AA was lower （P 〈 0.05） compared with WPC-AA and FW, and FM-AA had lower （P 〈 0.05） IgG concentration than WPC-AA at the end of wk 1 （phase 1）. Concentration of acetate in cecum digesta in FM-AA tended to be greater （P = 0.054） than that of FM-WPC and WPC-AA. Concentration of isovalerate in cecum digesta of pigs in FM-AA was greater （P 〈 0.05） than that of FW and WPC-AA. Conclusions： This study indicates that use of 6 supplemental amino acids can replace fish meal and/or whey protein concentrate without adverse effects on growth performance, immune status, and gut health of pigs at d 21 to 49 of age. Positive response with the use of 6 supplemental amino acids in growth during the first week of post-weaning may due to increased plasma insulin potentially improving uptake of nutrients for protein synthesis and energy utilization. In this new information era,the transfer of data and information has become a very important *** data must be kept secured from unauthorized persons using *** science of cryptography depends not only on complex mathematical models but also on encryption *** acid encryption is a promising model for data *** this paper,we propose an amino acid encryption model with two encryption *** first key is generated randomly using the genetic *** second key is called the protein key which is generated from converting DNA to a protein ***,the protein message and the first key are used in the modified Playfair matrix to generate the cypher *** experimental results show that the proposed model survives against known attacks such as the Brute-force attack and the Ciphertext-only *** addition,the proposed model has been tested over different types of characters including white spaces and special characters,as all the data is encoded to 8-bit *** performance of the proposed model is compared with other models using encryption time and decryption *** model also balances all three principles in the CIA triad.

Grain protein content(GPC)is an indicator of cereal nutritional *** of genes involved in the regulation of GPC provides targets for molecular breeding for crop protein *** characterized a maize gene encoding the putative amino acid transporter ZmAAP6,a gene expressed mainly in immature seeds,especially in the basal endosperm transfer *** protein and zein contents were decreased in ZmAAP6 null mutants and increased in ZmAAP6 overexpression(OE)lines,consistent with their changed in the size of protein *** and transcriptomic analysis supported the regulatory role of ZmAAP6 in amino acid *** results suggest that ZmAAP6 functions as a positive regulator of GPC in maize,shedding new light on the genetic basis of GPC regulation.

As the climate crisis continues to escalate, there has been a growing emphasis on the development of electrode materials that are environmentally friendly and sustainable. Biomolecules, such as proteins,peptides, and amino acids, have emerged as promising alternatives to metal oxide and metal hydroxide-based energy storage systems. These biomolecules offer several advantages, such as high safety, non-toxicity, abundant raw material sources, and ease of device fabrication. In this review, we highlighted the recent advancements in amino acid, peptide, and protein-based materials for lithiumion batteries, supercapacitors, and fuel cells. We delve into the synthetic strategies employed and their impact on factors such as active potential window, solubility in the electrolyte, and electrochemical performance. Our focus is on the development, composition, and performance of biomolecules, as well as the various approaches taken for their application in batteries, supercapacitors, and fuel cells. Finally, we discuss key considerations that must be taken into account to promote the design, synthesis and development for future practical applications of lithium-ion batteries, supercapacitors, and fuel cells.

An L-cysteine-bioinspired calcium phosphate(Ca-P)coating is prepared upon magnesium alloy AZ31 in a water bath at 60℃.FE–SEM,FTIR,XRD,electrochemical characterization,hydrogen evolution tests and XPS were used to evaluate the microstructure,chemistry and corrosion performance of the *** indicate that L-cysteine promotes the nucleation process of the coating and significantly increases its *** can be attributed to the complexation of the carboxyl group and mercapto group of L-cysteine with calcium ***,the obtained Ca-P coating possesses higher corrosion resistance than that prepared in L-cysteine-free bath.

As the global demographic shifts toward an aging population,understanding the efficiency of protein uti-lization in older adults becomes *** study explores the intricate relationship between protein intake and aging,with a focus on precision nutrition for older *** a meta-analysis,we con-firm a decline in protein-utilization capacity in older individuals and examine the different contributions of plant and animal *** experiments involving mice of different ages,older mice exhibited decreases in the biological utilization of four proteins(casein,beef protein,soy protein,and gluten),par-ticularly *** subsequent research,casein was studied as a key protein.A decline in gastric digestion function was observed through peptidomics and the examination of pepsin levels using ***,this decline did not significantly affect the overall protein digestion during the aging *** combined application of targeted amino acid metabolomics identified abnormal absorption of amino acids as the underlying cause of decreased protein utilization during aging,particularly emphasiz-ing a reduction in branched-chain amino acids(BCAAs)in older *** deeper into the proteomics of the intestinal protein digestion and absorption pathway,a reduction of over 60%in large neutral amino acid transporter 2(LAT2)protein expression was observed in both older humans and aged *** reduction in LAT2 protein was found to be a key factor influencing the diminished BCAA ***,our study establishes the significance of amino acid absorption through LAT2 in protein utiliza-tion during aging and offers a new theoretical foundation for improving protein utilization in the older adults.

Abstract The development of physically crosslinked hydrogels with excellent mechanical and sensing properties is of importance for expanding the practical applications of intelligent soft hydrogel ***,after copolymerization of hydroxyl-containing amino acid derivative N-acryloyl serine(ASer)with acrylamide(AM),we introduce Zr4+through an immersion strategy to construct metal ion-toughened non-covalent crosslinked hydrogels(with tensile strength of up to 5.73 MPa).It is found that the synergistic coordination of hydroxyl and carboxyl groups with Zr^(4+)substantially increases the crosslinking density of the hydrogels,thereby imparting markedly superior mechanical properties compared to hydroxyl-free Zr^(4+)-crosslinked hydrogels,such as N-acryloyl alanine(AAla)copolymerized with AM hydrogels(with tensile strength of 2.98 MPa)Through the adjustment of the composition of the copolymer and the density of coordination bonds,the mechanical properties of the hydrogels can be modulated over a wide ***,due to the introduction of metal ions and the dynamic nature of coordination bonds,the hydrogels also exhibit excellent sensing performance and good self-recovery properties,paving the way for the development of flexible electronic substrates with outstanding comprehensive performances.

Chemical synthesis of peptides and proteins has evolved into an indispensable tool for chemical biology. Peptide ligation is a straightforward technique for joining two short peptide fragments together via a native peptide bond to afford a larger natural peptide or protein. However, the junction sites are limited to several specific amino acids because most peptide ligations involve participation of the side-chain functional groups of the junction-site amino acids. To overcome such intrinsic limitations, "general"peptide ligations which do not rely on the side-chain functional group have been developed. This review summarized the recent developments in peptide ligations that are independent of side-chain functional group of ligation-junction-site amino acid.

Correlation Study on Sweetness of amino acid with Different Configurations and Quantum Chemical Parameters

Quantum chemical parameters of 10 amino acids with D- and L-configurations were firstly calculated with semi-empirical AM1 method. Furthermore, the relationship between molecular structures of D-, L-amino acids and their sweetness were observed. The results show that upon different configurations of amino acids, the sweetness is relative with their formation heat, dipole moment, energy gap of frontier orbital and other parameters. The formation heats of the same amino acids possessing D- and L-configurations are different except glycine. The algebraic value of D-amino acid is generally larger than that of corresponding L-configuration with only one except of tyrosine. The dipole moment of D-amino acid is generally larger than that of corresponding L-amino acid except tyrosine and lysine. The lowest unoccupied orbital energy （ELUMO） of D-amino acid is higher than that of corresponding L-configuration except phenylalanine. △E of D-amino acid is larger than that of L-amino acid except histidine, phenylalanine and lysine. The larger gap will have advantage for its matching with frontier orbital energy of human protein acceptor, which strengthens the interaction between D-amino acid and sweet taste acceptor. Besides, the changing rules of these parameters are generally identical.
