An Emergency Blood allocation Approach Considering Blood Group Compatibility in Disaster Relief Operations

Large-scale sudden-onset disasters may cause massive injuries and thus place great pressure on the emergency blood supplies of local blood banks. When blood is in short supply, blood products gathered urgently to a local blood center should be appropriately allocated to blood banks in the affected area. Moreover, ABO/Rh(D) compatibilities among blood groups must be considered during emergency situations. To minimize the total unmet demand of blood products considering the optimal ABO/Rh(D)-compatible blood substitution scheme, a mixed integer programming model is developed and solved efficiently by using a greedy heuristic algorithm. Finally, a numerical example derived from the emergency blood supply scenario of the Wenchuan Earthquake is presented to verify the proposed model and algorithm. The results show that considering ABO/Rh(D)-compatible blood substitution can remarkably increase the efficiency of emergency blood allocation while lowering blood shortage, and the preference order of possible ABO/Rh(D)-compatible substitutions has an influence on the allocation solution.

This paper investigates subcarrier and power allocation in a multi-UAV OFDM *** study considers a practical scenario,where certain subcarriers are unavailable for dynamic subcarrier allocation,on account of pre-allocation for burst *** first propose a novel iterative algorithm to jointly optimize subcarrier and power allocation,so as to maximize the sum rate of the uplink transmission in the multiUAV OFDM *** key idea behind our solution is converting the nontrivial allocation problem into a weighted mean square error(MSE) *** this means,the allocation problem can be solved by the alternating optimization ***,aiming at a lower-complexity solution,we propose a heuristic allocation scheme,where subcarrier allocation and transmit power allocation are separately *** the heuristic scheme,closedform solution can be obtained for power *** results demonstrate that in the presence of stretched subcarrier resource,the proposed iterative joint optimization algorithm can significantly outperform the heuristic scheme,offering a higher sum rate.

Uncovering the genetic basis of seed develop-ment will provide useful tools for improving both crop yield and nutritional value, However, the genetic regulatory networks of maize (Zea mays) seed development remain largely unknown. The maize opaque endosperm and small germ 1 (osl) mutant has opaque endosperm and a small embryo,Here, we cloned OSi1 and show that it encodes a putative transcription factor containing an RWP-RK domain-Transcriptional analysis indicated that OSi1 expression is elevated in early endosperm development, especially in the basal endosperm transfer layer (BETL), conducting zone (CZ), and central starch endospcrm (CSE) cells. RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) analysis of the osi mutant revealed sharp downregulation of certain genes in specific cell types, including ZmMRP-1 and Megl in BETL cells and a majority of zein-and starch-related genes in CSE cells. Using a haploid induction system, we show that wild-type endosperm could rescue the smaller size of osi embryo, which suggests that nutrients are allocated by tho wild type endosperm. Therefore, our dsta imply that the network regulated by 051 accomplishes a key step in nutrient allocation between endosperm and embryo within maize seeds. Identification of this network will help uncover the mechanisms regulating the nutritional balance between endosperm and embryo.

Resource allocation based on Shared Criterion in OFDMA Distributed Radio Access Network

Distributed radio access network (DRAN) is a novel wireless access architecture and can solve the problem of the available spectrum scarcity in wireless communications. In this paper, we investigate resource allocation for the downlink of OFDMA DRAN. Unlike previous exclusive criterion based algorithms that allocate each subcarrier to only one user in the system, the proposed algorithms are based on shared criterion that allow each subcarrier to be allocated to multiple users through different antennas and to only one user through same antenna. First, an adaptive resource allocation algorithm based on shared criterion is proposed to maximize total system rate under each user's minimal rate and each antenna's maximal power constraints. Then we improve the above algorithm by considering the influence of the resource allocation scheme on single user. The simulation results show that the shared criterion based algorithm provide much higher total system rate than that of the exclusive criterion based algorithm at the expense of the outage performance and the fairness, while the improved algorithm based on shared criterion can achieve a good tradeoff performance.

With the dawning of the Internet of Everything(IoE) era, more and more novel applications are being deployed. However, resource constrained devices cannot fulfill the resource-requirements of these applications. This paper investigates the computation offloading problem of the coexistence and synergy between fog computing and cloud computing in IoE by jointly optimizing the offloading decisions, the allocation of computation resource and transmit power. Specifically, we propose an energy-efficient computation offloading and resource allocation(ECORA) scheme to minimize the system cost. The simulation results verify the proposed scheme can effectively decrease the system cost by up to 50% compared with the existing schemes, especially for the scenario that the computation resource of fog computing is relatively small or the number of devices increases.

Digital micro-thruster arrays can be used for special missions of micro/nano-satellites with the requirements of high precision and small *** paper presents a novel control allocation algorithm for the digital micro-thruster array,namely status graph based control allocation(SGBCA)algorithm,which aims at finding the optimal micro thrusters combination scheme to realize the sequential control synthesis for micro/nano-satellite during real-time orbit control tasks.A mathematical model is set up for the control allocation of this multivariate over-actuated *** dividing thrusters into disjoint segments by offline calculation and combining segments dynamically online to provide a sequence of the required impulse for the micro/nano-satellite,the time complexity of the control allocation algorithm decreases *** levels of impulse can be generated by the digital micro thruster arrays and the service life of the arrays can be extended using the segment converting strategy proposed in this *** simulation indicates that the algorithm can satisfy the requirements of real-time orbit control for micro/nano-satellites.

The bandwidth resources allocation strategies of the existing Internet of Vehicles(IoV) are mainly base on the communication architecture of the traditional 802.11 x in the wireless local area network(WLAN). The traditional communication architecture of IoV will easily cause significant delay and low Packet Delivery Ratio(PDR) for disseminating critical security beacons under the condition of high-speed movement, distance-varying communication, and mixed traffic. This paper proposes a novel bandwidth-link resources cooperative allocation strategy to achieve better communication performance under the road conditions of intelligent transportation systems(ITS). Firstly, in traffic scenarios, based on the characteristic to predict the relative position of the mobile transceivers, a strategy is developed to cooperate on the mobile cellular network and the Dedicated Short-Range Communications(DSRC). Secondly, by adopting the general network simulator NS3, the dedicated mobile channel models that are suitable for the data interaction of ITS, is applied to confirm the feasibility and reliability of the strategy. Finally, by the simulation, comparison, and analysis of some critical performance parame-ters, we conclude that the novel strategy does not only reduce the system delay but also improve the other communication performance indicators, such as the PDR and communication capacity.

A Low-Complexity Resource allocation Scheme for OFDMA Multicast Systems with Proportional Fairness

A low-complexity optimization scheme is proposed to balance the tradeoff between system capacity and proportional fairness in orthogonal frequency division multiple access(OFDMA) based multicast systems. The major challenge is to solve the non-convexity optimization problem with strict proportional fairness. Constrained team progress algorithm(CTPA) solves this non-convexity problem by allocating sub-channels to each group based on sub-channel gains and proportional fairness constraint. Mapping power algorithm(MPA) guarantees strict proportional fairness with efficient power allocation which utilizes the mapping relation between power and throughput. CTPA-MPA is analyzed in three aspects: complexity, fairness and efficiency. We numerically show that when the system capacity is slightly increased in lower power region compared with several previous approaches, CTPA-MPA improves the proportional fairness in a typical scenario with 4 groups over 16 sub-channels, while reducing the complexity from exponential to linear in the number of sub-channels. It is also proved available in a more complicated system.
