air gun arrays are often used in marine energy exploration and marine geological *** study of the single bubble dynamics and multibubbles produced by air guns interacting with each other is helpful in understanding pressure *** used the van der Waals air gun model to simulate the wavelets of a sleeve gun of various offsets and arrival *** factors were taken into account,such as heat transfer,the thermodynamically open quasi-static system,the vertical rise of the bubble,and air gun post *** vertical cables are located on the seafloor,but hydrophones are located in seawater and are far away from the air gun array *** situation conforms to the acquisition conditions of the air gun far-field wavelet and thus avoids the problems of ship noise,ocean surges,and ***-quality 3D wavelet data of air gun arrays were collected during a vertical cable test in the South China Sea in *** proposed an evaluation method of multidimensional facial features,including zeropeak amplitude,peak-peak amplitude,bubble period,primary-to-bubble ratio,frequency spectrum,instantaneous amplitude,instantaneous phase,and instantaneous frequency,to characterize the 3D air gun wave *** match between the facial features in the field and simulated data provides confidence for the use of the van der Waals air gun model to predict air gun wavelet and facial features to evaluate air gun array.

Case Report: air gun Pellet Injury to the Cribriform Plate of a Young Male

air guns and rifles are usually considered to be harmless. Even though these firearms are categorized as toys, injuries with these are quite common in children and adolescents. The most common reason for these types of injuries is accidents and negligence. In this case report we present a 17-year-old male, admitted to the emergency department with a 5 mm incision below his left eye. In the CT imaging a pellet was seen lodged in the cribriform plate. It pierced through the ethmoid sinus. The patient was admitted to the inpatient clinic and managed conservatively with antibiotherapy. A review of literature was performed to find out the best strategy to reach an optimized outcome and evaluate probable complications.

In order to accelerate a heavy train model with great dimensions to a speed higher than 300 km h?1 in a moving train model testing system,compressed air is utilized to drive the train model *** gas from an air gun pushes the piston in an accelerating tube *** piston is connected to the trailer through a rope,and the trailer pulls the train model to the desired *** the testing section,the train model enters the deceleration *** speed of the train model gradually decreases because of the braking force of the magnetic braking device on the bottom of the train model and the steel plates fixed on the floor of this *** dissipation of kinetic energy of the trailer is also based on a similar *** feasibility of these methods has been examined in a 180 m-long moving train model testing *** speed of the trailer alone reaches up to 490 km ***,a 34.8 kg model accelerates up to 350 km h?1;the smooth and safe stopping of the model is also possible.

Resolution assessment of the three-dimensional acquisition geometry of the Anhui experiment in"Geoscience Yangtze Plan"

According to the actual observation conditions of the Yangtze River valley from Anqing city to Maanshan city,we designed the 3D acquisition geometry,and applied the multi-scale checkerboard semblance analysis to assess the preliminary resolution of the designed *** checkerboard semblance tests use the refraction and reflection travel-time simultaneous inversion algorithm to quantitatively provide both resolution assessment of velocity structure and Moho *** multi-scale checker-board semblance recovery results show that while the chec-kerboard semblance threshold value is 0.5,the preliminary resolution of the designed acquisition geometry is better than 10 km in the upper crust(the depth is less than 10 km),around 15 km in the mid-crust(the depth is 10?25 km),and better than 20 km in the lower crust(the depth is 25?33 km).The preliminary tomographic resolution for the Moho topography is about 20 km in the ray-path coverage area beneath the acquisition *** the checkerboard semblance threshold value is 0.75,the preliminary resolution is 20 km in the upper crust,around 20?25 km in the mid-crust and 25 km in the lower *** the preliminary tomographic resolution for the Moho topography is better than 30 km in the ray-path coverage area beneath the acquisition *** non-linear checkerboard tests reveal that the designed acquisition geometry is suitable to image the crustal velocity structure of the Yangtze River valley in the Anhui province.
