Monitoring land surface and cover in urban and peri-urban environments using digital aerial photography

This paper describes the development of a system for decimetre-scale monitoring of land-surface and land-cover in urban and peri-urban *** describe our methodology that comprises the application of highly automated processing and analysis methods to digital aerial *** approach described in this paper addresses a monitoring need by providing the ability to generate change information at a spatial resolution suitable for urban,peri-urban and coastal areas,where an increasing percentage of the worlds’population *** areas are dynamic,with many environmental issues associated with planning,service provision,resource management and allocation,as well as monitoring regulatory *** present a system based on standardised data and methods,which is able to track and communicate changes in features of interest in a way that has not been previously *** describe the methodology and then demonstrate its feasibility by applying it to geographic areas of planning and policy relevant size(the order of tens of thousands of square kilometres).We demonstrate the approach by applying it to the problem of urban forest assessment.

The recognition of ocean red tide with hyper-spectral-image based on EMD

A new technique is introduced in this paper regarding red tide recognition with remotely sensed hyper-spectral images based on empirical mode decomposition （EMD）, from an artificial red tide experiment in the East China Sea in 2002. A set of characteristic parameters that describe absorbing crest and reflecting crest of the red tide and its recognition methods are put forward based on general pictre data, with which the spectral information of certain non-dominant alga species of a red tide occurrence is analyzed for establishing the foundation to estimate the species. Comparative experiments have proved that the method is effective. Meanwhile, the transitional area between red-tide zone and non-red-tide zone can be detected with the information of thickness of algae influence, with which a red tide can be forecast.

Reduced-order design of Robust H_∞ Controller for an Inertial Stabilized aerial Platform

The uncertainty disturbance is one of the main disturbances that seriously influences the stabilization precision of an aerial inertially stabilized platform(ISP)*** this paper,to improve the stabilization precision of the ISP under disturbance uncertainty,a robust H∞controller is designed in this ***,the reduction order is carried out for high-order controllers generated by the robust H∞loop shaping control *** application of the minimum implementation and balanced truncation algorithm in controller reduction is ***,the principle of reduced order of minimum implementation and balanced truncation are ***,the method is used to reduce the order of the high-order robust H∞loop shaping ***,the method is analyzed and verified by the simulations and *** results show that by the reduced-order method of minimum implementation and balanced truncation,the stabilization precision of the robust H∞loop shaping controller is increased by about 10%.
