Presently many methods for optimizing system reliability have been proposed,but a property common to these all methods is that the optimization of system reliability is a search process,therefore it is miscellaneous and spends a lot of *** paper has proved three mathematical propositions,and proposed that for an N stage series system if M is the expected value of system reliability,then the geometric mean M1/n is the optimum number for every *** that,according to three nonlinear constraints the redundancy of each stage has been solved,*** optimization of system is *** new method is called "reaching and adjusting". For complicate system the "weight" is introduced,as a result the numerical results of Sharma method is the same to Aggarwal method. As an application for s five stage problem which is proposed by Tillman,the numerical results which are obtained by reaching and adjusting method and the ones which are obtained by Hooke & Jeeves search method combined the heuristic method are illustrated.

When evaluating the performance of distributed software-defined network(SDN)controller architecture in data center networks,the required number of controllers for a given network topology and their location are major issues of *** address these issues,this study proposes the adaptively adjusting and mapping controllers(AAMcon)to design a stateful data *** use the complex network community theory to select a key switch to place the controller which is closer to switches it controls in a subnet.A physically distributed but logically centralized controller pool is built based on the network function virtualization(NFV).And then we propose a fast start/overload avoid algorithm to adaptively adjust the number of controllers according to the *** performed an analysis for AAMcon to find the optimal distance between the switch and ***,experiments show the following results.(1)For the number of controllers,AAMcon can greatly follow the demand;for the placement location of controller,controller can respond to the request of switch with the least distance to minimize the delay between the switch and it.(2)For failure tolerance,AAMcon shows good robustness.(3)AAMcon requires less delay to the network with more significant community *** fact,there is an inverse relationship between the community modularity and average distance between the switch and controller,i.e.,the average delay decreases when the community modularity increases.(4)AAMcon can achieve the load balance between the controllers.(5)Compared to DCP-GK and k-critical,AAMcon shows good performance.

Concrete-Filled Steel Tube Arch Bridges in China

In the past 20 years, great progress has been achieved in China in the construction of concrete-filled steel tube (CFST) arch bridges and concrete arch bridges with a CFST skeleton. The span of these bridges has been increasing rapidly, which is rare in the history of bridge development. The large-scale construction of expressways and high-speed railways demands the development of long-span arch bridges, and advances in design and construction techniques have made it possible to construct such bridges. In the present study, the current status, development, and major innovative technologies of CFST arch bridges and concrete arch bridges with a CFST skeleton in China are elaborated. This paper covers the key construction technologies of CFST arch bridges, such as the design, manufacture, and installation of steel tube arch trusses, the preparation and pouring of in-tube concrete, and the construction of the world’s longest CFST arch bridge—the First Hejiang Yangtze River Bridge. The main construction technologies of reinforced concrete arch bridges are also presented, which include cable-stayed fastening-hanging cantilever assembly, adjusting the load by means of stay cables, surrounding the concrete for arch rib pouring, and so forth. In addition, the construction of two CFST skeleton concrete arch bridges—the Guangxi Yongning Yong River Bridge and the Yunnan–Guangxi Railway Nanpan River Bridge—is discussed. CFST arch bridges in China have already gained a world-leading position; with the continuous innovation of key technologies, China will become the new leader in promoting the development of arch bridges.

This paper presents a method of tuning governor control parameters of an isolated hydropower generator considering the primary frequency performance and small-signal stability. First, generators that can be operated in isolated state are identified. Second, different schemes are proposed for generator mode switching from on-grid to off-grid state through comparison and mechanism analysis. Third, the time domain model and frequency domain model of the isolated generator governor are constructed to respectively estimate the primary frequency performance and small signal stability. Parameter sets that satisfy the primary frequency performance and small signal stability are acquired as optimal values of governor control parameters. Finally, the measurement-based parameters of the governor are identified and validated using simulations to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the method.
