An adjective is a word whose main syntactic role is to modify a noun or pronoun.A determiner is a noun modifier that expresses the reference of a noun phrase in the context.Thus,this research mainly analyzes the differences between adjectives and determiners from three aspects which are morphology,syntax and noun selection.It attempts to illustrate that the main differences based on determiners can not be subsumed within adjectives.

Corpus-based Analysis on Anti-Semitism in Shakespeare's Works

Thousands of years ago,the Jews were forced to leave their homeland and began to live an exiled life and gradually melted into other neighboring peoples.However,they were not welcomed by others.For thousands of years,Jews' "Bible" has become a source of literary and artistic creation,but the image of Jews were excluded from the literary and artistic creation,even if there were some occasions,they were but described as autistic Misers or loan shark.Shakespeare is one of the most outstanding writers;he described many people from all walks of life in his works,the Jews,also included.Based on the corpus of Shakespeare's works,we can see that most adjectives used by Shakespeare to modify the word "Jew"are derogative words.Therefore,we can prove that anti-Semitism does exist in Shakespeare's works.

An Analysis on the Structure of “Yue Lai Yue X”

In modern Chinese, the structure of "Yue Lai Yue X" is a common one, normally denoting X to have changes in degree, number, content and emotion. Construction Grammar has provided us with new method and perspective to study linguistic phenomena. The thesis will give a thorough explanation of the structure of "Yue Lai Yue X" from the perspective of cognitive linguistics. The thesis consists of the following two parts. Part One: It analyzes the constructive meaning and semantic category of "Yue Lai Yue X" construction. Part Two: By analyzing the structure in the way of syntax, the words occupying the position of X must fulfill two rules: they can express the meaning of change in degree, number, extent and emotion of time and they can be modi?ed by adverb "hen" in grammar.
