South China is famous for the extensive magmatism and polymetallic mineralization that took place there in the Mesozoic. Shilu is a large porphyry–skarn Cu–Mo deposit in the Yangchun Basin, South China. The lithology of the Shilu intrusion is granodiorite and quartz diorite, both of which are high-K calc-alkaline series, with high Sr([400 ppm) content along with low Y and Yb contents. Most of the samples have characteristics of adakite except for a few samples that have slightly higher Y and Yb contents, which may be plausibly explained by crustal contamination. Laser Ablation Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry zircon U–Pb dating revealed ages between 106.6 ± 1.3 and 103.9 ± 0.5 Ma, with multiple magmatic pulses. Molybdenite Re–Os isochron age of 102.2 ± 2.9 Ma(MSWD = 9.4) was determined, which is identical to the youngest zircon U–Pb age(103.9 ± 0.5 Ma) within *** Shilu intrusion has high oxygen fugacity as indicated by high zircon Ce^(4+)/Ce^(3+) and Eu_N/Eu_N* ratios. Considering the geochemical characteristics(high Sr, and low Y and Yb contents), high oxygen fugacity, and copper mineralization of the Shilu intrusion, it was most likely formed by partial melting of a subducted young oceanic slab. Whole-rock Sr–Nd isotope-, zircon Hf isotope-, and whole-rock trace element analyses show that Shilu adakitic magmas may have interacted with type II enriched mantle and/or crustal materials during ascent. South China was affected by the Pacific tectonic regime to the east and the Neo-Tethys tectonic regime to the south in the Cretaceous. Based on the Pacific Plate drifting and rotation history, it is hard to explain how the Pacific Plate would have subducted and melted, forming adakitic rocks in the Shilu region. Considering the tectonic history of Southeast Asia and the South China Sea, the Neo-Tethys trench should have been much closer to the South China Block in the Cretaceous, and thus have had a greater impact on the South China Block. The general temporal-spatial consistency for the formation of adakitic rocks and lithospheric thinning in northern China provide a window to examine the processes and mechanism for the destruction of the North China *** experimental petrology data,this paper demonstrates that the adakitic rocks in northern China are the products of partial melting of middle-to high-potassic metabasalts at the base of the lower continent *** on the TiO2 solubility model,many adakitic rocks in Dabie,Jiaodong and the northern part of the craton appear to have been saturated with *** indicates the presence of a Ti-rich accessory phase in their source *** phase must be rutile based on the decreasing Nb/La with increasing La/Yb in the adakitic *** adakitic magmas were,thus,derived from a depth of more than 50 km,based on pressures (higher than 1.5 GPa) for the stability of rutile in a metabasalt *** present-day crustal thickness is generally only 35 km,we suggest that the destruction of the North China Craton may have led to at least 15 km of thinning or delamination of the crust.

High Ba-Sr adakitic charnockite suite from the Nagercoil Block,southern India:Vestiges of Paleoproterozoic arc and implications for Columbia to Gondwana

The Nagercoil block is the southernmost crustal segment of the Southern Granulite Terrane(SGT)in India and is mainly composed of charnockitic rocks and felsic gneisses(charnockite suite).In this study,we present petrologic,geochemical,zircon U-Pb,REE,and Hf isotopic studies on the charnockites and leucogneiss from the Nagercoil *** on field investigations and petrologic studies,the charnockites can be divided into garnet-bearing and garnet-absent anhydrous granulite facies rocks with *** charnockites and leucogneiss show transition from adakites to non-adakitic magmatic rocks,with enrichment in LREEs(light rare earth elements)and LILEs(large ion lithophile elements),and depletion in HREEs(heavy rare earth elements)and HFSEs(high field strength elements).Some of the charnockites and the leucogneiss show typical HSA(high silica adakite)characters,(high SiO_(2),Al_(2)O_(3),Ba-Sr,La/Yb,and Sr/Y).The HSA is considered to have formed from the interaction of slab derived melts and peridotitic mantle *** high Ba-Sr features were possibly inherited from subducted oceanic crust melting under high thermal gradient during *** magmas were underplated and subjected to fractional *** grains from the charnockite and leucogneiss show zoned magmatic cores surrounded by structureless metamorphic *** zircon grains from the charnockites show ages ranging from 1983±8.8 Ma to 2046±14 Ma,and the metamorphic domains show an age range of 502±14 Ma to 547±8.7 *** from the leucogneiss yielded magmatic and metamorphic ages of 1860±20 Ma and 575.6±8.8 *** charnockites and leucogneiss show two prominent age peaks at 1987 Ma and 568 *** REE data of the zircon grains show LREE depletion and HREE enrichment,with the metamorphic grains showing more depletion in *** Hf isotopic data of the magmatic cores of zircon grains from the charnockite yieldedε_(Hf)(t)values from-1.17 to 0.46 with T_(DM)and T_(DM)~C and age

Chronology and Geochemistry of the Nadingcuo Volcanic rocks in the Southern Qiangtang Region of the Tibetan Plateau:Partial Melting of Remnant Ocean Crust along the Bangong-Nujiang Suture

The Nadingcuo high-K calc-alkaline rocks mainly composed of trachyte and trachyandesite are the largest outcrop area of volcanic rocks in southern Qiangtang terrane in the Tibetan plateau. However,their exact source and peterogenesis are still debated.^（40）Ar-^（39）Ar and LAM-ICPMS zircon U-Pb isotopic dating confirm that these rocks erupted in *** addition,the Nadingcuo volcanic rocks are characterized by high Sr/Y content ratios,similar with the adakite derived from partial melting of oceanic *** can be further classified as high Mg~#（Mg~#=48-57） and low Mg~# （Mg~#=33-42） *** Nadingcuo adakitic rocks have relatively low（^（87）Sr/^（86）Sr）_i and highε_（Nd）（t）, showing a trend of similarity to the Dongcuo ophiolite present in the Bangong-Nujiang oceanic crust. Simple modeling indicates that the Nadingcuo adakitic rocks are a mix resulting from the basalt of Bangong-Nujiang Ocean with 10%-20%crustal material of Lhasa *** these bases we suggest that the low Mg~# Nadingcuo adakitic rocks are the product of partial melting of remnant oceanic crust with small sediment,and the high Mg~# rocks are the result of reaction between rising melt of remnant oceanic crust with subducted sediment and mantle ***,the origin of Nadingcuo adakitic rocks may be related to intracontinental subduction triggered by collision of India-Asia during Cenozoic.

U-Pb-Hf isotopes and petrogenesis of Late Jurassic akakitic quartz monzodiorite in Xingcheng area,western Liaoning Province

The petrogenesis and geodynamic setting of the Late Jurassic Baita porphyry quartz monzodiorite in Xingcheng-Liaoxi area provide information for understanding the Mesozoic tectonic evolution of the northeastern North China *** this paper,geochronological,whole-rock geochemical,and in-situ zircon Hf isotopic analyses of Baita porphyry quartz monzodiorite were investigated to constrain the crystallization age and *** exhibit typical oscillatory zoning in cathodoluminescence images and show relatively high Th/U ratios(0.78-1.62),and U-Pb analyses indicate that these rocks were crystallized during the Late Jurassic(159±1 Ma).Geochemically,they are characterized by high contents of SiO 2(65.21wt%-65.31wt%),Al 2O 3(16.29wt%-16.31wt%),Sr(521×10^(-6)-539×10^(-6)),and Sr/Y ratio(45.1-47.8)but low Y(10.9×10^(-6)-12.0×10^(-6)),with obvious adakitic geochemical *** above-mentioned findings,combined with their negativeε_(Hf)(t)values(-21.7 to-20.2),corresponding two-stage model age(T_( DM2))of 2579-2484 Ma,as well as low MgO(1.38wt%-1.39wt%),Cr(18.5×10^(-6)-19.5×10^(-6))and Ni(9.45×10^(-6)-9.46×10^(-6))values,indicate that Baita porphyry quartz monzodiorite may be generated by partial melting of the Neoarchean-Paleoproterozoic thickened basaltic lower *** on the results from this study and pre-vious regional studies,it is concluded that Baita porphyry quartz monzodiorite was spatially related to the westward subduction of the Paleo-Pacific plate.

The Bozshakol area is one of the most important copper resource concentrations in Central *** report in situ zircon U–Pb age and Hf isotope data,whole rock geochemical and Sr–Nd isotopic data for the volcanics and intrusions from the Bozshakol *** ion mass spectrometry(SIMS) zircon U–Pb dating indicates that the volcanics erupted at 501.8 ±3.2 Ma and the intrusions emplaced at 489.5 ± 3.3 *** volcanics are subdivided into two *** I are tholeiitic to calc-alkaline basalt and calc-alkaline andesite and dacite,which are enriched in light rare earth elements(LREE) with a marked negative Nb anomaly and Th/*** also have low initialSr/ Sr ratios(0.7026–0.7048),high zircon εHf(t) and whole-rock εNd(t) values(+ 9.7 to + 17.0 and + 5.4to + 6.7,respectively).Type II are Nb-enriched basalts(NEBs,Nb = 6–7 ppm),which are sodium-rich(NaO/K O = 3–10) and differ from the vast majority of arc basalts in their higher Nb,Zr,and Ti O contents and Nb/U *** also have low whole-rock initialSr/ Sr ratios(0.7040) and high εNd(t) values(+5.6).Therefore Bozshakol volcanics were formed by partial melting of the mantle wedge and subducted *** Bozshakol ore-bearing intrusive rocks include the fine-and medium-grained tonalite *** belong to the medium-K calc-alkaline series and are strongly enriched in LREE with a marked negative Nb anomaly and Th/*** fine-grained tonalite porphyries exhibit element characteristics similar to normal arc *** have low initialSr/ Sr ratios(0.7036–0.7039),high zircon εHf(t) values(+10.7 to + 17.2)and whole-rock εNd(t) values(+ 4.9 to + 5.7).Compared with the fine-grained tonalite porphyries,the medium-grained tonalite porphyries have high AlO and Sr contents(16–17 wt.% and 565–569 ppm,respectively)and low Yb and Y concentrations(0.9–1.1 ppm and 9.3–12.1 ppm,respectively),showing a geochemical affinity to ***,Bozshakol intrusive rocks were also derived from the m
