Effect of acupoint therapy combined with spine pinching in patients with menopausal syndrome: a randomized controlled trial

OBJECTIVE:To assess the efficacy of acupoint therapy combined with spine pinching in patients with menopausal ***:This is a parallel,randomized,controlled,investigator-blinded trial.A total of 132 participants were randomly assigned to receive either acupoint therapy combined with spine pinching(intervention group)or tibolone therapy alone(control group).The intervention group received acupoint therapy combined with spine pinching three times per week for 4 *** control group received 2.5 mg of tibolone once daily for 4 *** primary outcome was the improved Kupperman *** WHO quality of life scale was also *** secondary aim was to identify those who would benefit from acupoint therapy combined with spine pinching based on the levels of follicle stimulating hormone(FSH)and luteinizing hormone(LH).RESULTS:In the intervention group,the improved Kupperman score was significantly decreased after treatment compared with before ***,there were no differences between the intervention and control groups for any *** in the physiology score presented negative outcomes in patients with a low FSH level with increasing body mass index(BMI)(P=0.0).In contrast,changes in the physiology score presented positive outcomes in patients with a moderate LH level with increasing BMI(P=0.0).The mean change in the physiology score of patients with a low FSH level and a BMI of≥25.7 kg/m2 was-7.17(range-10.94 to-3.40)after adjustments for age and disease ***:acupoint therapy combined with spine pinching is effective in treating menopausal syndrome,especially in women with a moderate LH ***,patients with a low FSH level had a negative outcome after acupoint therapy combined with spine *** addition,patients with a BMI of>25.7 kg/m2 had a negative outcome after the intervention,regardless of hormone levels.

Objective:To investigate the effect of acupoint catgut-embedding therapy on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).Methods:Twenty-three participants were subjected to acupoint catgut-embedding therapy for 3 *** second session was performed one month after the first session and the third session two months after the second *** months after the third session of catgut-embedding therapy,the patients were subjected to fibroscan analysis.A total of 20 acupoints were selected in three *** acupoints were selected for all the patients at the same session but different points were selected at different ***:Of the 23 participants,5 cases showed significant improvement and 8 cases showed moderate improvement as the steatosis stage was reduced by 1 or 2 *** whole group showed significant improvements in terms of patient score,fat percentage,NAFLD steatosis stage,weight loss and abdominal circumference reduction after acupoint catgut-embedding therapy(all Pacupoint catgut-embedding therapy can significantly improve the important factors in patients with NAFLD.

Treatment of acne vulgaris with auricular acupoint pricking-bloodletting plus auricular point sticking therapy: a randomized controlled study

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of auricular point pricking-bloodletting plus auricular point sticking therapy for acne vulgaris. Methods: A total of 66 patients with acne vulgaris were randomized into an observation group and a control group by the random number table, with 33 cases in each group. The observation group was treated with auricular point pricking-bloodletting plus auricular point sticking therapy, and the control group was treated only with auricular point sticking therapy. The treatments of both groups were performed twice a week, 4 weeks as a course of treatment, for 3 courses in total. The scores of skin lesions and dermatology life quality index (DLQI) scores were recorded before and after treatment to assess the clinical efficacy. Results: During the trial, there were 3 cases of drop-out both in the observation group and the control group. After 3 courses of treatment, the total effective rate of the observation group was 96.7%, while that of the control group was 76.7%. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant (Ptherapy alone in the treatment of acne vulgaris, and has a time-effect correlation.

Influence of Auricular Plaster therapy on Sleeping Structure in OSAS Patients

Objective: To evaluate the therapeutic effects of auricular plaster therapy for obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) and the influence on sleeping structure. Methods: 45 OSAS patients were randomly divided into a treatment group of 30 cases and a control group of 15 cases for comparison of the changes in parameters of respiration and sleep at night. Results: The auricular plaster therapy significantly improved the hypoventilation index, respiratory disturbance index and other respiratory parameters as well as the sleeping parameters such as the time and rate of sleep at stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ, and the waking time and rate. Conclusion:Auricular plaster therapy may show good therapeutic effects for OSAS, and with the advantages of low cost and less side effects.

Clinical observation on acupoint injection of Chuankezhi injection plus acupoint sticking in treating bronchial asthma

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of acupoint injection of Chuankezhi plus acupoint sticking treatment for bronchial asthma, and provide clinical evidence for the synergy of the two therapies, and explore their synergistic mechanism. Methods: A total of 70 patients were randomized into an acupoint injection plus sticking group and an acupiont sticking group by the random number table, with 35 cases in each group. The treatment took place in July and August. The acupoint injection plus sticking group was treated with acupoint injection and acupiont sticking, while the acupiont sticking group was treated only with acupiont sticking therapy. The treatment course was 4 weeks. After the treatment, the scores of symptom scale in the two groups before treatment, 3 months and 6 months after the treatment were observed. Results: During the treatment, there were 5 dropouts in the acupoint injection plus sticking group with 30 cases remained, and 4 dropouts in the acupiont sticking group with 31 cases remained. Before the treatment, there was no significant difference in the total scores of symptom scale between the two groups. Three months after the treatment, the total scores of symptom scale of both groups were lower than those before treatment, and the intra-group differences were statistically significant (bothP0.05). Efficacy of transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation(TEAS)for menopausal insomnia and its effect on serum hormone levels

Objective:To explore the therapeutic efficacy and mechanism of transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation(TEAS)for menopausal ***:A total of 80 patients with menopausal insomnia were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group,with 40 cases in each *** patients in the control group received conventional Western medication treatment,and the patients in the observation group received TEAS on the basis of conventional Western medication *** treatment for both groups lasted for 4 *** and after treatment,Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)and modified Kupperman scale were evaluated,and the serum levels of estradiol(E2)and follicular stimulating hormone(FSH)were *** therapeutic efficacy was evaluated after ***:After treatment,the total effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P0.05);the PSQI and Kupperman scores in the observation group were significantly improved after treatment(both P0.05);the serum E2 level was significantly increased(P<0.05),and the FSH level was decreased(P<0.05)in the observation group after treatment,and the between-group differences in serum levels of E2 and FSH were significant(both P<0.05).Conclusion:TEAS plus conventional Western medication in treating menopausal insomnia is effective,and can significantly improve the symptoms of insomnia and menopause,which may be related to the regulation of serum E2 and FSH levels.

Objective To examine the effect of acupuncture-like transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation(ACUTENS)on labor pain in nulliparous *** This randomized clinical trial was conducted at Razi Hospital in Qazvin,Iran between January and July *** the screening process,144 out of 184 pregnant women were selected by convenience sampling and assigned to an intervention group or a control group by the block randomization *** intervention group received ACUTENS at Hegu(LI4),Shenmen(HT7),Sanyinjiao(SP6),and Neimadian(Extra)during various stages of delivery in addition to routine labor care at the delivery *** the control group,the same routine labor care was performed *** severity of pain was assessed in the two groups using the visual analog scale(VAS).The data were analyzed using R software(ver.4.0.2)and repeated measurement analysis of *** ACUTENS reduced the mean score of pain intensity in the first stage of labor in the intervention group more than that in the control group(P<0.001).Also,the mean scores of pain intensity in the second stage of labor,episiotomy,and one hour after delivery in the intervention group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.001).Conclusion ACUTENS at Hegu(LI4),Shenmen(HT7),Sanyinjiao(SP6),and Neimadian(Extra)can decrease the intensity of labor pain in nulliparous *** can be used as a non-pharmacological method for reducing pain in and after labor.

Efficacy observation of auricular point sticking in combination with a healthy diet for simple obesity in children

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of combining auricular point sticking and a healthy diet to treat simple obesity in children aged 6–9 years *** A total of 190 eligible obese kids were divided into an observation group and a control group using the random number table method,with 95 cases in each *** observation group was intervened by auricular point sticking plus guide on a healthy diet,while the control group was only provided with the guide on a healthy *** therapeutic efficacy was observed after intervention for three consecutive months,as well as the changes in body mass(BM),body mass index(BMI),waist circumference(WC),hip circumference(HC),and subcutaneous fat *** After the 3-month intervention,the total effective rate was 91.6%in the observation group,versus 74.7%in the control group,and the between-group difference was statistically significant(P<0.01);in both groups,the BM,BMI,WC,HC,and subcutaneous fat thickness all decreased significantly(P<0.05),and were lower in the observation group than in the control group,showing statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion Auricular point sticking plus a healthy diet is safe and effective in treating simple obesity in children,producing more significant efficacy than healthy diet intervention alone.

Umbilicus application with Chinese medicine for chronic diarrhea due to food intolerance in kids:a multicenter randomized trial

Objective： To observe the clinical efficacy of umbilicus application with Chinese medicine in treating children＇s chronic diarrhea due to food intolerance and the value of healthy diet education. Methods： Eighty kids with chronic diarrhea due to food intolerance were recruited from multiple centers and divided by using the random number table into a treatment group of 40 cases and a control group of 40 cases. For both groups, based on the level of serum food-specific immunoglobulin G（Ig-G）, the patients were given unified diet following the healthy diet guidance： safe, alternate, and forbidden, while the treatment group was additionally given umbilicus application with Chinese medicine. The therapeutic efficacy and symptom score of traditional Chinese medicine（TCM） were observed and compared respectively after 1-week, 2-week, 4-week, and 12-week treatment. Results： The diarrhea symptoms and coupled symptoms scores dropped significantly in the two groups after treatment（ all P〈0.05）, and the inter-group comparisons also showed statistical significances（P〈0.05）. The total effective rate was 97.5% in the treatment group versus 77.5% in the control group, and the inter-group difference was statistically significant（P〈0.05）. Conclusion： The healthy diet guidance based on the food intolerance test is effective in helping treat diarrhea, while umbilicus application with Chinese medicine works better in treating diarrhea for kids with chronic diarrhea due to food intolerance and can significantly enhance the therapeutic efficacy.
