For nonlinear stability problems of discretized conservative systems with multiple parameter variables and multiple state variables, the activation method is put forward, by which activated potential functions and activated equilibrium equations are derived. The activation method is the improvement and enhancement of Liapunov-Schmidt method in elastic stability theory. It is more generalized and more normalized than conventional perturbation methods. The activated potential functions may be transformed into normalized catastrophe potential functions. The activated equilibrium equations may be treated as bifurcation equations. The researches in this paper will motivate the combination of elastic stability theory with catastrophe theory and bifurcation theory

This study measured the yields of the radionuclides^(82)Sr,^(83(m+g))Sr,^(85m)Sr,^(85g)Sr,^(87m)Sr,^(81(g+0.976m))Rb,^(82m)Rb,^(83g)Rb,^(84(m+g))Rb,and^(86(m+g))Rb produced in^(nat)Sr(γ,xnyp)multiparticle reactions with bremsstrahlung end-point energies of 55,60,and 65 MeV.The bremsstrahlung radiation was generated using the 100-MeV electron linear accelerator at the Pohang Accelerator Laboratory,Korea,and the reaction yields were derived from the induced activitiesmeasured using off-lineγ-ray spectrometry.To obtain accurate experimental results,we performed the necessaryγ-ray interference corrections.The experimental results were compared with the theoretical predictions obtained using the TALYS-1.95 statistical nuclear model code.The calculations were performed using six different level-density models to ascertain which model best fitted the experimental results.The dependence of the reaction yield on the incident bremsstrahlung energy and on the number of nucleons emitted by the photonuclear reactions was also investigated.

The fission yield data in the 14 MeV energy neutron induced fission of^(238)U play an important role in decay heat calculations and generation-Ⅳ reactor designs.In order to accurately measure fission product yields(FPYs)of^(238)U induced by 14 MeV neutrons,the cumulative yields of fission products ranging from^(92)Sr to^(147)Nd in the^(239)U(n,f) reaction with a 14.7 MeV neutron were determined using an off-line γ-ray spectrometric technique.The14.7 MeV quasi-monoenergetic neutron beam was provided by the K-400 D-T neutron generator at China Academy of Engineering Physics(CAEP).Fission products were measured by a low background high purity germanium gamma spectrometer.The neutron flux was obtained from the^(93)Nb(n.2n)^(92m)Nb reaction,and the mean neutron energy was calculated using the cross-section ratios for the^(90)Zr(n,2n)^(89)Zr and^(93)Nb(n,2n)^(92m)Nb reactions.With a series of corrections,high precision cumulative yields of 20 fission products were obtained.Our FPYs for the^(238)U(n,f) reaction at 14.7 MeV were compared with the existing experimental nuclear reaction data and evaluated nuclear data,respectively.The results will be helpful in the design of a generation-Ⅳ reactor and the construction of evaluated fission yield databases.

Enhancement of the cometabolic biotransformation of 4-chlorophenol（4-cp） and phenol were studied using chemically and thermally granular activated carbons（GACs）.It was found that both chemically activated and thermally activated GAC effectively adsorb phenol and 4-cp.More than 80% adsorped substrates were later desorpted,showing a reversible sorption behaviour in the GAC.For each activated carbon type,4-cp was preferentially adsorbed over phenol and the desorption efficiencies of both phenol and 4-cp were found to increase linearly with the initial mass of adsorbate in the adsorbent.The biodegradation of 500 mg/L phenol by Pseudomonas putida took 24 h while the biodegradation of 4-cp took 32 h.Inhibitions during the cometabolic biodegradation of 4-cp and phenol were alleviated by the addition of the GACs.The system with chemically-activated coconut type GAC had better system stability over thermally-activated peat type GAC.The results show that GAC can be regenerated by the cells enhancement of the cometabolic biotransformation of 4-cp and phenol can be accomplished using chemically-activated coconut type GAC.
