[目的/意义]学者学术影响力评价备受学术界的高度关注，如何科学选取评价学者学术影响力的指标是很多学者关注的焦点。[方法/过程]采用p指数的提出者Prathap为弥补p指数不能体现总量相等的引文数在单篇论文上的分布情况的缺陷，新提出的z指数，以Muscular Dystrophy研究领域最具代表性的15位学者为例，计算目标数据的z指数、h指数、p指数、总发文量、总被引次数和平均被引率、体现引文分布的一致性指标η，实证分析了利用z指数评价学者学术影响力的效果。[结果/结论]z指数优于现有的h指数和p指数，更具有评价的全面性和合理性，可以进一步扩大范围使用。

In recent years,significant progress has been achieved in both basic and clinical research within the field of traditional medicine,garnering increasing attention worldwide.To further promote a high-quality and international development of traditional medicine,the editorial board of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine provided a collection of the“Top 50 High-impact Researches of Traditional Medicine”published in 2021 through objective indicators and a strict selection process.The findings of the selected articles have a significant academic influence and possess considerable academic value both nationally and internationally.The selected articles cover a wide range of topics,including clinical research,acupuncture,pharmacology,chemistry,biosynthesis,medicinal plant resources,and new formulation and drug delivery system research on traditional medicine.Therefore,this article outlines the selection process of the top 50 high-impact research articles,analyzes their research characteristics,and provides a brief summary of their new findings and perspectives in the field of traditional medicine.

Purpose:This study aims to construct new models and methods of academic genealogy research based on bibliometrics.Design/methodology/approach:This study proposes an academic influence scale for academic genealogy,and introduces the w index for bibliometric scaling of the academic genealogy.We then construct a two-dimensional(academic fecundity versus academic influence)evaluation system of academic genealogy,and validate it on the academic genealogy of a famous Chinese geologist.Findings:The two-dimensional evaluation system can characterize the development and evolution of the academic genealogy,compare the academic influences of different genealogies,and evaluate individuals’contributions to the inheritance and evolution of the academic genealogy.Individual academic influence is mainly indicated by the w index(the improved h index),which overcomes the situation of repeated measurements and distortion of results in the academic genealogy.Practical implications:The two-dimensional evaluation system for the academic genealogy can better demonstrate the reproduction and the academic inheritance ability of a genealogy.Research limitations:It is not comprehensive to only use the w index to characterize academic influence.It should also include scholars’academic awards and academic parttimers and so on.In future work,we will integrate scholars’academic awards and academic part-timers into the w index for a comprehensive reflection of scholars’individual academic influences.Originality/value:This study constructs new models and methods of academic genealogy research based on bibliometrics,which improves the quantitative assessment of academic genealogy and enriches its research and evaluation methods.

BACKGROUND Journal Impact Factor™(JIF)is often used to evaluate the relative reputation and quality of academic journals in their respective fields,and can greatly influence the quality and scope of subsequent manuscript submissions.Therefore,many if not all academic journals are interested in increasing their JIF,to improve their academic impact.AIM To determine the importance of the integrity of the editorial and publication process in improving the academic influence of academic journals and the JIF of academic journals.METHODS In this paper,we describe our statistical analysis of bibliometric factors-including the 2021 JIFs released in the Journal Citation Report™2022,discipline rankings,received and published articles in 2019-2021,and webpage visits and downloads-for seven journals published by Baishideng Publishing Group(Baishideng)and indexed in Science Citation Index Expanded™;ultimately,we introduce and discuss the editing and publishing processes of Baishideng’s journals in their entirety,as they form the basis for our objective of safeguarding and bolstering integrity in academic publication.RESULTS For the seven journals assessed,their 2021 JIFs were basically unchanged from 2020,with the current metric ranging from 5.374 for World Journal of Gastroenterology(WJG)to 1.534 for World Journal of Clinical Cases(WJCC).Further assessments of the journals’bibliometrics from 2019 to 2020,showed that World Journal of Stem Cells has the highest self-citation rate(1.43%)and World Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery has the lowest(0.21%).Additionally,the total 3012 articles published during this period were cited by more than 20000 articles in approximately 8000 academic journals.Of note,the 1102 articles published in WJG were cited by articles in 3059 journals,among which 171 journals have a JIF of>10,including internationally renowned academic journals such as CA-A Cancer Journal for Clinicians(2021 JIF 286.130,record count:1),Lancet(2021 JIF 202.731,record count:4),Nature Reviews Immunology(2021 JIF 108.555,re

Biodiversity offsetting plays a crucial role in managing the impacts of development on natural habitats. Developers, conservation groups, governments and financial institutions have used biodiversity offsetting to design measurable conservation actions to compensate for significant residual adverse biodiversity impacts arising from development. However, the concepts and methodologies of biodiversity offsetting have rarely been systematically reviewed, and best practices are still lacking. This hinders the development and applications of this field, and makes it difficult for new researchers to learn, develop, and apply biodiversity offsetting. This paper aims to review research progress on biodiversity offsetting during the period of 1992 to 2019. We mainly used bibliometric analysis and social network analysis methods to expose the topic diversity, development and promotion of this research field, and assess collaboration among biodiversity offsetting scholars. Our research identified 1190 records, and revealed that the total number of publications increased rapidly since 2002. The most productive journal, country, and author were Biological Conservation, USA, and Dr. Maron M of University of Queensland, respectively. Co-author analysis identified that the 23 authors most relevant to biodiversity offsetting were involved in a collaboration network. And they were mainly from 30 countries in a collaboration network, and the authors from USA, Australia and the United Kingdom have the most cooperation, which mainly driven by policy related to biodiversity offsetting. Our review shows that biodiversity offsetting research is at an early stage of rapid development with topically diverse and collaborative science domains. The majority of studies focus on terrestrial environments, which makes the implementation of aquatic ecosystem is more difficult. Measuring author influence in scientific collaboration networks

Purpose:The purpose of this paper is to measure author influence in scientific collaboration networks by considering the combined effects of multiple indexes.In the meanwhile,we intend to explore a method to avoid assigning subjective weights.Design/methodology/approach:We applied four centrality measures(degree centrality,betweenness centrality,closeness centrality and eigenvector centrality)and authors’published papers to the scientific collaboration network.The grey relational analysis(GRA)method based on information entropy was used to measure an author’s impact in the collaboration network.The weight of each evaluation index was determined based on information entropy.The ACM SIGKDD collaboration network was selected as an example to demonstrate the practicality and effectiveness of our method.Findings:Author influence was not always positively correlated with evaluation indexes such as degree centrality and betweenness centrality.This implies that combined effects of multiple indexes should be considered in author impact analysis.The introduction of the GRA method based on information entropy can reduce the interference of human factors in the evaluation process.Research limitations:We only analyzed author influence from the perspective of scientific collaboration,but the impact of citation on author influence was ignored.Practical implications:The proposed method can be also applied to detect influential authors in bibliographic co-citation network,author co-citation network,bibliographic coupling network or author coupling network.It would help facilitate scientific collaboration and enhance scholarly communication.Originality/value:This paper proposes an analytical method of evaluating author influence in scientific collaboration networks,in which combined effects of multiple indexes are considered and the interference of human factors is reduced in the evaluation process.
