Quantification of irrigation water transport processes in ziziphus jujuba garden using water stable isotopes

ziziphus jujuba,which is native to China,has become one of the main crops widely planted in the western Loess Plateau because of its drought and flood-tolerance,adaptability,and higher nutritional value of the *** irrigation water infiltration in *** gardens is complex,and understanding its mechanisms is essential for efficient water use and sustainable *** knowledge helps ensure the long-term success of jujuba *** paper describes a field experiment that investigates the infiltration process of irrigation water from *** garden and quantifies the contribution of irrigation water to soil water at different depths using the MixSIAR *** to the FC(Field water holding Capacity)of ***,irrigation experiments with three volumes of 80%FC,60%FC,and 40%FC are set up in this *** study finds that water retention is better in *** garden soils with a higher proportion of coarse gravel in the soil particle *** water content exhibits a gradient change after irrigation,with deeper wetting front transport depth observed with increased irrigation ***,there is correlation between soil temperature and soil water *** soil water in *** garden generally exhibits a preferential flow signal in the 0-40 cm *** 40 cm,a piston flow pattern *** rate of soil water infiltration increases with the amount of irrigation *** the 0-40 cm range of the soil vertical profile,irrigation water was the main contributor to soil *** demonstrated flexibility in water uptake,primarily absorbing soil water at depths of 0-40 *** optimal growth of *** at this stage,40%FC irrigation is *** results are expected to be valuable future irrigation practices and land use planning for *** garden in arid zones,supporting sustainable agricultural development and water management.

Two new terpenoids from fruits of ziziphus jujuba

One new ceanothane-type triterpene and one new sesquiterpene, together with two known triterpenes were isolated from the fruits of ziziphusjujuba Mill. （Rhamnaceae）. Based on the spectral analyses, the structures of two new compounds were elucidated as 2α-aldehydo-A（1）-norlup-20（29）-en-27,28-dioic acid （zizyberanal acid）（1）, and zizyberanone （2）. While the two known triterpenes were identified as zizyberanalic acid （3） and ursolic acid （4）.

Simultaneous quantification of 18 bioactive constituents in ziziphus jujuba fruits by HPLC coupled with a chemometric method

The fruit of ziziphus jujuba Mill., known as Hongzao(or Hong-Zao) in Chinese and cultivated in China for more than 4 000 years, has shown to have hepatoprotective property. In previous study, we have isolated and identified 27 known compounds from Z. jujuba fruits, which demonstrated anti-tumor activity. In this study, a high-performance liquid chromatography-diode-array detection-mass spectrometry(HPLC-DAD-MS) method was successfully applied to the simultaneous characterization and quantitation of 18 constituents in 28 Z. jujuba samples, comprised of 12 cultivars from different regions in China, by comparing their HPLC retention times, MS spectra, UV spectra, and NMR data with those of reference compounds. The quantitative method was validated with excellent linearity(R^(2 )> 0.999 1), preferable intra-and inter-day precisions(RSD jujuba products.

Growth inhibitory effect of phenolic extracts of ziziphus jujuba *** dengue vector Aedes aegypti(L)in parent and F1 generation

Objective: To evaluate the lethal and emergence inhibitory effect of alkaloid, phenolic and terpenoid extracts of ziziphus jujuba(Z. jujuba; Rhamnaceae) against Aedes aegypti(Diptera: Culicidae), and to explore the effect of the most effective fraction on developmental and biochemical parameters of the dengue vector. Methods: The fourth instar larvae of Aedes aegypti were exposed to alkaloid, phenolic and terpenoid extracts from Z. jujuba leaves to test their toxicity and emergence inhibitory effects. Phenolic extract, being the most effective was further tested against the mosquitoes for their growth inhibitory effect supported by biochemical changes in the parent and F1 generation. Results: While the different secondary metabolite fractions i.e., alkaloid, phenolics and terpenoid caused mortality at larval and pupal stages, the LC_(50) value was the lowest for phenolic fraction. Further study carried out with the phenolic fraction revealed that it affected growth by decreasing adult life span, fertility and fecundity of the mosquitoes. The reduction in growth was also accompanied by decrease in carbohydrate and lipid levels. Conclusions: It is concluded that the phenolic extract of the leaves of Z. jujuba is a potential candidate for control of Aedes mosquitoes.

Technological Study on Instant Date Powder in Natural ziziphus jujuba through Vacuum Freeze-drying

[Objective] The aim was to get optimized conditions for date powder with good color and taste.[Method] The pectinase enzymolysis and vacuum freeze-drying technology were used in the extract process of date powder.[Result] The production boasts of superior quality were with rich fragrance and uniform particle under certain process *** optimized conditions for pectinase enzymolysis were:the amount of pectinase reached to 0.1% of that of date syrup,enzymolysis temperature and time were 50 ℃ and 50 min respectively,the pH value was *** optimized conditions for vaccum freeze-drying were:10% altodextrin,three times volumn of water with the thickness of 7 mm.[Conclusion] The optimized conditions were obtained in this study to produce instant date powder from ziziphus jujuba.

Effects of water-fertilizer coupling on root distribution and yield of Chinese Jujube trees in Xinjiang

Water and fertilizer are the two main factors which promote the rapid growth of Jujube(ziziphus jujuba)*** of root systems and the nutrition-use efficiency of dense,dwarfed fruit trees are limited,especially in an extremely arid region with drip *** experiment was conducted in a 12-year-old dwarf jujube planting basement in Hami from 2013 to *** this experiment,root length density and root weight density were calculated and found to range from 75 cm to 275 cm in horizontal distance,and from 0 to 90 cm in vertical depth,treated with three drip irrigation quota gradients and three fertilizer rates with each treatment replicated three *** results showed that,as the amount of nitrogen applied increased gradually,the jujubes’growth amount increased,reaching a maximum when an optimal concentration was ***,the jujubes’growth was inhibited,and the growth declined when the amount of nitrogen applied was more than the optimal *** an appropriate level of nitrogen,the growth,yield and quality of jujube trees could be *** the rate of nitrogen application was lowered,the jujubes’growth would inhibit,and hence the yield wound be seriously *** optimal irrigation quota and fertilization amount were found to be 900 mm and 1500-1800 kg/hm^(2),*** research findings were of significance and hold great promise for the development of the forestry and fruit industries in the arid region of *** the same time,there was a further study on irrigation technique,focusing on the combined effect of the dwarfed-planting technique and drip irrigation on jujube trees;with this information,the application efficiency of water and fertilizer can be optimized,leading to higher profits and economic efficiency.

A novel hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (HIL1C-MS/MS) method was developed for the simultaneous determination of 23 free amino acids without *** method was performed on an ultra-high performance liquid chromatography(UHPLC) separation system coupled with electrospray ionization mass spectrometry on a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer (TQ-MS),operating in positive ionization *** separation of the 23 underivatized amino acids was achieved on an Acquity BEH Amide column(2.1 mm×100 mm,1.7μm) in a single run of 12 min at a flow rate of 0.4 mL *** limits of detection were in the range from 0.17 to 77.75 ng *** the analytes were quantified directly from biological extracts without any kind of derivatization,which avoided the laborious and time-consuming of derivatization procedures used by the traditional ***,the more polar compounds were separated without utilization of perfluorinated acids as ion-pairing reagents which was not suggested for ESI source. Then,the method was applied for the analysis of the free amino acids in 46 batches of ziziphus jujuba fruits which comprised 39 cultivars from 26 cultivation *** statistical analysis was also used to investigate the differences in free amino acid profiles among the *** study showed that HILIC-UHPLC-TQ-MS is an effective technique to analyze underivatized amino acids in the biological samples.
