Polyamines are a class of low-molecular-weight aliphatic cations with strong biological activities,and they are involved in all stages of growth and development in ***,the mechanism of spermidine synthase regulating seed size has been little examined so *** cloned spermidine synthase 2(OsSPDS2) and constructed over-expression,RNA interference(RNAi) *** seeding stage,we observed that the plants with OsSPDS2 suppressed showed stronger growing vigor compared with OsSPDS2-OE *** tillering,the difference becomes more *** maturity,we measured several agronomic traits of Nipponbare and transgenic *** suppressed lines(RNAil and RNAi2) with down-regulated 0 s5 PD52 expression showed higher plant height,bigger seed size and higher grain yield,displaying stronger growing ***,the up-regulated OsSPDS2 resulted smaller plant architecture compared to ***,we found OsSPDS2 also affect seed *** results suggest that OsSPDS2 is involved into polyaminesynthetic pathway and affect the synthesis of ethylene to regulate seed size and seed dormancy in rice.

Heterotrimeric G proteins, which consist of Gα, Gβ and Gγ subunits, function as molecular switches to regulate a wide range of developmental processes in plants. In this study, we characterize the function of rice RGG2, which encodes a type B Gγ subunit, in grain size and yield production. The expression levels of RGG2 are significantly higher than those of other rice Gγ-encoding genes in all tissues tested, suggesting that RGG2 plays essential roles in rice growth and development. By regulating cell expansion, RGG2 overexpression in Nipponbare（NIP） leads to reduced plant height and decreased grain size. By contrast, two mutants generated by the clustered, regularly interspaced, short palindromic repeat（CRISPR）/CRISPR-associated 9（Cas9） system in the Zhenshan 97（ZS97） background, zrgg2-1 and zrgg2-2, exhibit enhanced growth, including elongated internodes, increased 1000-grain weight and plant biomass, and enhanced grain yield per plant（+11.8% and 16.0%, respectively）. These results demonstrate that RGG2 acts as a negative regulator of plant growth and organ size in rice. By measuring the length of the second leaf sheath after gibberellin（GA3） treatment and the GA-induced α-amylase activity of seeds, we found that RGG2 is also involved in GA signaling. In summary, we propose that RGG2 may regulate grain and organ size via the GA pathway and that manipulation of RGG2 provides a novel strategy for rice grain yield enhancement.

The combined effects of farm yard manure and boron application on growth,and oil quality of Canola grown under newly reclaimed soils

Two field experiments were conducted during the main seasons of 2021/2022 at the Research and production Station of National Research Centre in Egypt to investigate the effects of farmyard manure(FYM)and boron on Canola growth,yield,oil yield,and *** results unequivocally demonstrated that the combined application of FYM at a rate of 14.4 ton ha^(-1)with a foliar spray of boron at 100 ppm positively influenced plant characteristics,leading to enhanced growth rates and higher yields compared to the control ***,this integrated approach significantly improved nutrient content by enhancing levels of oil content,carbohydrates,proteins,phenolics,flavonoids,and total soluble *** findings provide compelling evidence that utilizing farm manure along with boron can effectively enhance Canola properties in newly reclaimed soils while promoting sustainable agricultural practices.

Kura clover (Trifolium ambiguum Bieb.) is a long-lived rhizomatous perennial legume introduced from the Caucasian region of Russia. Kura clover is very winter hardy and drought tolerant although it will go through the dormant during the moisture stress. Kura clover is slow to establish. The poor establishment and seedling vigor has been contributed to substantial allocation of energy resources to the root system. Kura clover yield is usually lower than that of alfalfa, red clover or birdsfoot trefoil during the earlier years of production, but this trend reverses later because kura clover maintains its plant stand better than the above-mentioned legumes. The initial lower yield and subsequent longevity have been attributed to the development of an extensive rhizome system. Forage quality of kura clover is relatively high. However, it is suggested being used in mixtures with grasses due to the problem of bloat. Combing kura clover with grasses can dramatically reduce the concentration of NDF and ADF compared with grass monoculture thus improve the forage quality of the mixtures. In recent years, the livestock production is more and more important in agriculture. For the market requirement, farmers in Saskatchewan begin to pay attention to the forage cultivation. Kura clover, because of its persistent nature, cold and drought tolerance and high forage quality, may be an excellent species used in pastures of Saskatchewan. Some research work on kura clover-grass mixtures have been conducted in the United States, while there have been no kura clover studies conducted in the Province of Saskatchewan. Full-scale grassland ecology work with kura clover is new to Western Canada. To our knowledge this project may be the first study in the region with an ecological approach.
