This research undertook a case study of the life-cycle assessment and techno-economic analysis of the slow pyrolysis of Eucommia stem for the production of wood vinegar and activated *** results showed that the production of one ton of wood vinegar via the slow pyrolysis of Eucommia stem show comparatively low global warming potential(2.37×10^(2) kg CO_(2) eq),primary energy demand(3.16×10^(3) MJ),acidification potential(2.19 kg SO2 eq),antimony depletion potential(3.86×10^(–4) kg antimony eq),and ozone depletion potential(7.46×10^(–6) kg CFC-11 eq)and was more environmentally friendly than the production of dilute acetic acid(12 wt%)via petrochemical ***,the total capital investment,total product cost,and cash flowsheet were provided in the techno-economic ***,the net present value,internal rate of return,and dynamic payback period of the production process were *** findings indicated that while this production process is cost-effective,it might not be economically attractive or could generate investment *** increase in the added value of the wood vinegar and the activated carbon could remarkably improve the economic feasibility of this production process.

Effects of Biochar and wood vinegar on Labile Phosphorus Pool in Soda Saline-Alkaline Soil

A pot experiment was conducted to research the effect of biochar and wood vinegar on labile phosphorus fractions in saline-alkali *** were eight treatments,including CK(0 kg•hm-2 biochar+0 kg•hm-2 wood vinegar),C1(0.6 t•hm-2 biochar),C2(0.6 t•hm-2 wood vinegar),C3(1.2 t•hm-2 wood vinegar),C4(1.8 t•hm-2 wood vinegar),C5(0.6 t•hm-2 biochar+0.6 t•hm-2 wood vinegar),C6(0.6 t•hm-2 biochar+1.2 t•hm-2 wood vinegar),and C7(0.6 t•hm-2 biochar+1.8 t•hm-2 wood vinegar).The results showed that biochar without wood vinegar and the co-application of biochar and wood vinegar significantly increased soil total phosphorus ***,compared with CK,all of treatments increased resin phosphorus and sodium bicarbonate-extracted inorganic phosphorus(NaHCO3-Pi)contents in saline-alkali ***,the contents of resin phosphorus and NaHCO3-Pi under C5,C6,and C7 treatments were higher than those of C2,C3,and C4 treatments,respectively,indicating that the increases of labile phosphorus contents under the co-application of biochar and wood vinegar were better than those of the alone application of biochar and wood *** treatment increased the proportion of labile phosphorus pool in saline-alkali soil and the proportion of labile phosphorus pool increased with the increase of the amount of wood *** addition,the application of biochar and wood vinegar increased the 100-grain weight of rice,and C6 treatment had the best effect,increasing the 100-grain weight by 134.35%.Therefore,the application of biochar and wood vinegar in saline-alkali soil could improve the soil phosphorus availability,increase the weight of rice grains,thereby realizing the resource utilization of agricultural waste and the sustainable development of agriculture.

To analyze the effect of wood vinegar on seed germination and seedling growth, the seeds of corn are dipped in wood vinegar of different densities. The results showed that significant effects were found through all the treatments on the seed germination rate, the seed germinating energy and the germinating index. The regress CUBICS curves were developed to describe the relation. The reasonable parameters range was obtained. At the same time, the corn was cultivated by wood vinegar of different densities, aiming to study the effect of wood vinegar on biomass. It showed that all treatments had obvious effects on the seedling length and dry weight aboveground, the chlorophyll and dry weight underground were not included. The research results could be used to direct the wood vinegar deeply refining process and product development.

[Objectives] This study was conducted to explore the antifungal activity of wood vinegar produced from apricot shell. [Methods]The minimal inhibitory concentration（ MIC） of wood vinegar against Aspergillus fumigatus was determined on agar plates. Then,the mycelial growth and the morphology of the apical vesicles of A. fumigatus cultured in the medium supplemented with 1/2 MIC wood vinegar were observed to evaluate the effect of wood vinegar on A. ***-Seq was performed to explore the antifungal mechanism of wood vinegar. [Results] The wood vinegar produced from apricot shell could inhibit the growth of A. fumigatus,with a MIC of 20 μl/ml. In the medium supplemented with 1/2 MIC wood vinegar,the mycelial growth of A. fumigatus was suppressed,some apical vesicles were incompletely developed. The gene ontology（ GO） term enrichment analysis based on RNA-Seq showed that the differentially expressed genes（ DEGs）were enriched in metabolic process,cellular process and single-organism process in the category of biological processes,cell,cell part,membrane,organelle and membrane part in the category of cellular components,catalytic activity and binding in the category of molecular function. The significantly up-regulated DEGs were mostly involved in cell,cell part,organelle,organelle part and macro molecular complex in the category of cellular component,while the significantly down-regulated DEGs were mostly involved in biological process,cellular process and single-organism process in the category of biological process,catalytic activity,binding,transporter activity,and nucleic acid binding transcription factor activity in the category molecular function. Moreover,KEGG（ Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes） pathway analysis showed that the DEG unigenes involved in metabolism were the most,followed by those involved in genetic information processing.[Conclusions]The results indicated that the wood vinegar produced from apricot shell might inhibit the growth of A.

There are few kinds of fungicides for the prevention and treatment of Rhizoctonia solani,and the excessive use of chemical fungicides can cause many hazards and toxic and side effects,not in line with the requirements of rice planting. The mixed use of wood vinegar and chemical fungicides can reduce the use of chemical fungicides,alleviate pollution and improve rice quality. In this experiment,the Horsfall method was used to study the synergistic inhibiting effect of mixture between wood vinegar and chemical fungicides on the growth of Rhizoctonia solani,as well as the optimal ratio. The results showed that when wood vinegar was mixed with Captan,the synergistic mixture ratio was 4∶6,3∶ 7 or 1∶ 9,and the toxicity ratio under mixture ratio of 4∶ 6 and 1∶ 9 was 1. 75 and 1. 99,respectively,with significant synergistic effect;when wood vinegar was mixed with Chlorothalonil,the toxicity ratio(1. 08) under mixture ratio of 8∶ 2 was greater than 1,showing additive effect.

Preparation and Characterization of Two wood vinegars Obtained from Hull of Spina Date Seed and Shell of Peanut

Two new kinds of wood vinegars（WVs） from the hull of spina date seed（HSDS） and the shell of peanut（PS） were prepared. 32 Major components in the two kinds of WVs were identified and determined by gas chro- matograph-mass spectrometery. The total phenolic content was determined and the antioxidant activity of the WV was measured. The total phenolic contents of PSWV and HSDSWV were 75.9 and 98.1 rag/L, respectively, when they were expressed as catechol equivalents. In 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl assay, free radical scavenging activity of HSDSWV was also superior than that of PSWV. In addition, the antioxidant activities of the two kind of WVs exhibited a good positive correlation with total phenolic content, and the linear correlation coefficients ranged from 0.9594 to 0.9970. The two kind of WVs could be used in the fields of food and medicine due to their powerful antioxidant activities.

The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of different rates of organic farming aid (OFA) and inorganic fertilizer on the productivity of maize, chemical and microbial properties of soil for higher economic value. Field experiments were conducted during the 2020 and 2021 cropping seasons at the research fields of CSIR-Savanna Agricultural Research Institute located at Nyankpala in the Guinea savannah agroecology of Ghana. The study consisted of five treatment combinations: full rate of OFA, full rate of NPK, 1/2 OFA + 1/2 NPK, full OFA + 1/2 NPK and a control (no OFA and no NPK) which were arranged in a randomized complete block design with four replications. Analysis of variance indicated significant (P 0.05) treatment and year interaction effect for all the growth parameters except for plant height, leaf area and leaf area index. Apart from hundred seed weight, treatment and year interaction effect for all the yield and yield components was significant (P 0.05). Application of full rate of NPK (90:60:60) resulted in the highest grain yield of 4960 kg·ha-1, however it was statistically similar to those obtained by the combined application of full rate of OFA (250 ml·ha-1) + 1/2 NPK and 1/2 OFA + 1/2 NPK with grain yield of 4856 kg·ha-1 and 4639 kg·ha-1 respectively. There was also a yield advantage of 197. 5%, 191.3%, 178.3 and 79.1% over the control for full NPK rate, full OFA rate + 1/2 NPK rate, 1/2 OFA rate + 1/2 NPK and full OFA rate respectively. Application of full OFA rate + 1/2 NPK enhanced soil basal respiration (evolved CO2) and mineralizable C, implying that, combination of full OFA rate and NPK fertilizer would be necessary to boost soil microbial activity and soil labile nutrient pool (labile C pool). This suggests that combined use of full OFA rate + 1/2 NPK fertilizer can be a better strategic tool for improving soil quality. The highest benefit cost ratios (BCR) of 2.58 and 3.77 were obta
