Metasurfaces,ultrathin two-dimensional version of metamaterials,have attracted tremendous attention due to their exotic capabilities to freely manipulate electromagnetic *** incorporating various tunable materials or elements into metasurface designs,reconfigurable metasurfaces and related metadevices with functionalities controlled by external stimuli can be realized,opening a new avenue to achieving dynamic manipulation of electromagnetic ***,based on the tunable metasurface concept,reconfigurable intelligent surfaces(RISs)have received significant attention and have been regarded as a promising emerging technology for future wireless communication due to their potential to enhance the capacity and coverage of wireless networks by smartly reconfiguring the wireless propagation ***,in this article,we first focus on technical issues of RIS system implementation by reviewing the existing research contributions,paying special attention to designs in the microwave ***,we showcase our recent attempts to practically demonstrate RIS systems in real-world applications,including deploying reflective RIS systems in indoor scenarios to enhance the wireless network coverage and utilizing intelligent omni-metasurfaces to improve both indoor and through-wall wireless communication ***,we give our own perspectives on possible future directions and existing challenges for RISs toward a truly commercial intelligent technology platform.

wireless networked control systems have gained significant popularity due to commissioning and maintenance *** 802.15.4 standard is one of wireless communication protocol for low delay deterministic *** automation,not only needs low delay but also requires the network that should has the capacity of various delay *** this paper,we propose a scheme,satisfying the muli-delay network in the networked control *** are using TI SmartRF04 EB evaluation boards with CC2530 SoC and TIMAC software stack CC2530 boards,as well as dc servo motors for a speed tracking control problem.

wireless communication for high-speed railways （HSRs） that provides reliable and high data rate communi- cation between the train and trackside networks is a challenging task. It is estimated that the wireless communication traffic could be as high as 65 Mbps per high-speed train. The development of such HSR communications systems and standards requires, in turn, accurate models for the HSR propagation channel. This article provides an overview of ex- isting HSR channel measurement campaigns in recent years. Particularly, some important measurement and modeling results in various HSR scenarios, such as viaduct and U-shaped groove （USG）, are briefly described and analyzed. In addition, we review a novel channel sounding method, which can highly improve the measurement efficiency in HSR environment.

High-speed broadband power line communication(BPL)is a novel and practicable technique for NetatHome or home area local area networking(LAN).Because of the characteristics of BPL,the electromagnetic wave emitted from the BPL transmission media will influence the indoor electromagnetic environment,which would also affect the performance of other wireless *** on the analysis of the communication channel characteristic,network impedance and attenuation characteristic of the BPL,this paper proposes a novel model for calculating the BPL radiation and the computer simulation model,which are proved by the coherence of the simulation and the test *** interferences from the high-speed BPL to indoor wireless communications are analyzed to stipulate the standards of high-speed BPL in the future.

A simple and compact microstrip-fed Ultra WideBand(UWB) printed monopole antenna with band-notched characteristic is proposed in this *** antenna is composed of a square ring with a small strip bar,so that the antenna occupies about 7.69 GHz bandwidth covering 3.11～10.8 GHz with expected band rejection from 5.12 GHz to 5.87 GHz.A quasi-omnidirectional and quasi-sym-metrical radiation pattern is also *** kind of band-notched UWB antenna requires no ex-ternal filters and thus greatly simplifies the system design of UWB wireless communication.

本文介绍了一种用于5G多输入多输出(MIMO)应用的39 GHz收发器前端芯片组。每个芯片包括两个可变增益的频率转换通道,可以同时支持两个独立波束,芯片还集成了一个本地振荡器链和数字模块,用于多芯片扩展和增益状态控制。为了提高射频性能,对前端系统的关键模块提出了几种电路级改进技术。此外,开发了一种先进的低温共烧陶瓷工艺来封装39 GHz双通道收发器芯片组,实现了低封装损耗和两个发射(TX)/接收(RX)通道之间的高隔离。进行了芯片级和系统级封装(SIP)测量,以演示收发器芯片组的性能。测量结果表明,TX SIP的最大增益为11 dB,饱和输出功率为10 dBm;RX SIP的最大增益为52 dB,噪声系数为5.4 dB,输出压缩点为7.2 dBm。该收发器的单通道通信链路测试表明,64正交调幅(QAM)调制的误差矢量幅度(EVM)为3.72%,频谱效率为3.25 bit·s^(−1)·Hz^(−1);256-QAM调制在1 m距离上的误差矢量幅度(EVM)为3.76%,频谱效率为3.9 bit·s^(−1)·Hz^(−1)。基于该芯片组,还开发了39 GHz多波束原型,用于执行5G毫米波应用的MIMO操作。单流和双流传输的空中通信链路表明,多波束原型机可以覆盖5~150 m的距离,吞吐量相当。

Sensor Networking: Concepts, Applications, and Challenges

Sensor network has experienced world-wide explosive interests in recent years. It combines the technology of modern microelectronic sensors, embedded computational processing systems, and modern computer and wireless networking methodologies. In this overview paper, we first provide some rationales for the growth of sensor networking. Then we discuss various basic concepts and hardware issues. Four basic application cases in the US. National Science Foundation funded Ceneter for Embedded Networked Sensing program at UCLA are presented. Finally, six challenging issues in sensor networks are discussed. Numerous references including relevant papers, books, and conferences that have appeared in recent years are given.
