Space-frequency-polarization-division multiplexed wireless communication system using anisotropic space-time-coding digital metasurface

In the past few years, wireless communications based on digital coding metasurfaces have gained research interest owing to their simplified architectures and low cost. However, in most of the metasurface-based wireless systems, a single-polarization scenario is used, limiting the channel capacities. To solve the problem, multiplexing methods have been adopted, but the system complexity is inevitably increased. Here,a space-frequency-polarization-division multiplexed wireless communication system is proposed using an anisotropic space-time-coding digital metasurface. By separately designing time-varying control voltage sequences for differently oriented varactor diodes integrated on the metasurface, we achieve frequency-polarization-division multiplexed modulations. By further introducing different time-delay gradients to the control voltage sequences in two polarization directions, we successfully obtain space-frequency-polarization-division multiplexed modulations to realize a wireless communication system with a new architecture. The new communication system is designed with compact dual-polarized meta-elements, and can improve channel capacity and space utilization. Experimental results demonstrate the high-performance and real-time transmission capability of the proposed communication system,confirming its potential application in multiple-user collaborative wireless communications.

Data-driven paradigms are well-known and salient demands of future wireless communication. Empowered by big data and machine learning techniques,next-generation data-driven communication systems will be intelligent with unique characteristics of expressiveness, scalability, interpretability, and uncertainty awareness, which can confidently involve diversified latent demands and personalized services in the foreseeable future. In this paper, we review a promising family of nonparametric Bayesian machine learning models,i.e., Gaussian processes(GPs), and their applications in wireless communication. Since GP models demonstrate outstanding expressive and interpretable learning ability with uncertainty, they are particularly suitable for wireless communication. Moreover, they provide a natural framework for collaborating data and empirical models(DEM). Specifically, we first envision three-level motivations of data-driven wireless communication using GP models. Then, we present the background of the GPs in terms of covariance structure and model inference. The expressiveness of the GP model using various interpretable kernels, including stationary, non-stationary, deep and multi-task kernels,is showcased. Furthermore, we review the distributed GP models with promising scalability, which is suitable for applications in wireless networks with a large number of distributed edge devices. Finally, we list representative solutions and promising techniques that adopt GP models in various wireless communication applications.

Physical layer security(PLS)in wireless communication systems has attracted extensive research attentions in recent *** cryptography-based methods applied in upper-layer in network,PLS methods are applied in physical layers and can provide information-theoretic security by utilizing the randomness of signals and wireless *** this survey,we provide a comprehensive review in the domain of physical layer authentication(PLA)in wireless communication systems,including the concepts,several key techniques of typical PLA architectures as well as future challenges and research trends in more sophisticated communication *** survey begins with an overview of the background and basic concepts of PLA,such as the general model of wireless security communication system,typical frameworks of key-based/less PLA systems,and the common attack *** then discuss the major concerns and key techniques that are applied in PLA systems,where three types of authentication schemes are considered,i.e.,the authentication based on channel information,radio-frequency and identity *** models and representative research results about key approaches and techniques applied to the authentication systems above are subsequently ***,the associated challenges and potential research trends of PLA in future communication systems are presented at the end of the survey paper.

To reduce the network deployment cost and provide voice, message and low rate data services in remote pastoral areas of Tibet effectively, an integrated wireless communication system utilizing MANET(Mobile Ad hoc Network) is proposed. The sparse mobile devices, assisted with the solar-powered multi-functional standing stations mainly on networking maintenance and routing arrangement, self-organize into a MANET. The topology of the standing stations is designed for networking robust and to simplify the routing method and energy strategy. Then in the OMNe T++(Objective Modular Network Test bed in C++) simulation, the energy consumption is analysis while adjusting routing with the different energy status of the standing stations. The result shows that the standing stations should adjust routing as well as control the mobile devices' activity level according to the energy states of the standing stations and their adjacent mobile devices.

Traditional magnetically coupled resonant wireless power transfer technology uses fixed distances between coils for research,to prevent fluctuations in the receiving voltage,and lead to reduce transmission *** paper proposes a closed-loop control wireless communication wireless power transfer system with a wearable four-coil structure to stabilize the receiving voltage fluctuation caused by changes in the displacement between the *** results show that the system can provide stable receiving voltage,no matter how the distance between the transmitting coil and the receiving coil is *** the transmission distance is 20 mm,the power transfer efficiency of the system can reach 18.5%under the open-loop state,and the stimulus parameters such as the stimulation period and pulse width can be adjusted in real time through the personal computer terminal.

With the rapid development of wireless communications,cellular communication and distributed wireless network are fragile to eavesdropping due to distributed users and transparent ***,to adopt bigger transmit power at a given area to interfere potential eavesdroppers not only incurs huge energy waste but also may suppresses regular communication in this *** this end,we focus on secure communication in multi-hop wireless communication network,and propose two communicating while jamming schemes for secure communication in presence of potential eavesdroppers for the narrow band and broad band point-to-point(P2P) systems respectively with the aid of artificial noise transmitted by a chosen cooperative ***,to achieve the end-to-end(E2E) multi-hop secure communication,we devise the secure network topology discovering *** constructing a proper network topology with at least one proper node as the cooperative interferer in each hop,and then propose the secure transmission path planning scheme to find an E2E secure transmission route from source to destination,*** on the wireless open-access research platform demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed ***,simulations results validate that the proposed schemes can achieve better performance compared with existing methods in both the P2P communication case and E2E multi-hop communication network scenario.
