Robust dual-channel correlation algorithm for complex weak target detection with wideband radar

In the scene of wideband radar,due to the spread of target scattering points,the attitude and angle of view of the target constantly change in the process of moving.It is difficult to predict,and the actual echo of multiple scattered points is not fully matched with the transmitted signal.Therefore,it is challenging for the traditional matching filter method to achieve a complete matching effect in wideband echo detection.In addition,the energy dispersion of complex target echoes is still a problem in radar target detection under broadband conditions.Therefore,this paper proposes a wideband target detection method based on dualchannel correlation processing of range-extended targets.This method fully uses the spatial distribution characteristics of target scattering points of echo signal and the matching characteristics of the dual-channel point extension function itself.The radial accumulation of wideband target echo signal in the complex domain is realized through the adaptive correlation processing of a dual-channel echo signal.The accu-mulation effect of high matching degree is achieved to improve the detection probability and the performance of wideband detection.Finally,electromagnetic simulation experiments and measured data verify that the proposed method has the advan-tages of high signal to noise ratio(SNR)gain and high detection probability under low SNR conditions.

Stepped frequency chirp signal obtains high-resolution radar images by synthesizing multiple narrowband chirp pulses.It has been one of the most commonly used wideband radar waveforms due to its lower demand for radar instant bandwidth.In this paper,we propose a radar jamming method using two-dimensional nonperiodic phase modulation against stepped frequency chirp signal imaging radar.Using the unique property of nonperiodic phase modulation,the proposed method can generate high-level sidelobes that perform as a special blanket jamming along both the range and azimuth directions and make the target unrecognizable.Then,the influence of different modulation parameters,such as the code width and duty ratio,are further discussed.Based on this,the corresponding parameter design principles are presented.Finally,the validity of the proposed method is demonstrated by the Yake-42 plane data simulation and measured unmanned aerial vehicle data experiment.

Jamming de-chirping radar using interrupted-sampling repeater

Interrupted-sampling repeater jamming (ISRJ) is a novel jamming mode for pulse compression radar in principle.In this paper,a jamming approach of applying ISRJ to de-chirping radar is presented.The principles of ISRJ are expounded,and the ways to achieve a train false target for de-chirping radar are analyzed.The characteristics of false target,including time-domain characteristic,frequency-domain characteristic and amplitude characteristic,are described.Based on this,the power requirement for jammer is put forward and the key elements that determine the space distribution location between true and false targets are discussed in detail.At last,simulation results are presented and addressed.This work is beneficial to the jamming design and use of ISRJ.

Range-spread target detector via coherent energy accumulation and block thresholding denoising

A range-spread target(RST)detector is proposed for wideband radar.The detector,referred to as a conjugate multiplication and block thresholding(CMBT)detector,is simple for implementation in existing radar systems and has the advantage of minor calculation.First,the target energy of adjacent stretched echoes is coherently accumulated via conjugate multiplication and Fourier transform operations.It is noted that conjugate multiplication of two complex Gaussian distributed noise is complex double Gaussian distributed,leading to a signal to noise ratio(SNR)loss.Subsequently,considering the sparsity and clustering characteristics of the conjugate multiplication amplitude spectrum(CMAS),the block thresholding method is adopted for denoising,where the noise and cross-terms are adaptively smoothed,and the signal terms can be basically preserved.Finally,numerical simulation results for both synthetic and real radar data validate the effectiveness of the proposed detector,comparing with the conventional integration detector(ID),the spatial scattering density(SSD)detector,and waveform entropy(WE)and waveform contrast(WC)based detectors.
