Background:Giardia duodenalis is one of the most common enteric parasites in humans and animals,including companion animals,livestock and *** date,the information about the prevalence and molecular characterization of *** infection in white yaks was ***:In the present study,a total of 208 white yak fecal samples were collected from Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County(TTAC) between September 2013 and March *** 208 white yak fecal samples,four samples(1.92%,all collected in March 2014) were tested G duodenalis-positive by PCR amplification of triosephosphate isomerase(TPI) ***-Joining(NJ) analysis was carried out to identify the *** assemblages in Mega 5.0 software,then only assemblage E was determined in the present ***:The present study not only revealed the presence and genotype of *** in white yaks for the first time,but also extended the host range of *** results will provide useful information for further prevention and the control of the *** infection.

The objective of this study was to determine the seroprevalence,risk factors and genotypes of Toxoplasma gondii in white yaks(Bos grunniens) in China.A total of 974 yak serum samples were collected from Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County(TTAC),Gansu province,northwest China for detecting *** antibodies by the modified agglutination test(MAT),and 414 tissues belonging to 138 white yaks were collected for detecting *** DNA by amplification of B1 gene with a semi-nested PCR.155 serum samples(15.91%,95%CI=13.62-18.21) were seropositive for *** antibodies at a 1:100 cut-off,and 10 DNA samples(7.25%,95%CI=2.92-11.57) were positive for the *** B1 gene,which were genetically characterized using multilocus *** two showed complete genotyping results(ToxoDB#9).Statistically significant differences were not observed between *** seroprevalence and gender,season or pregnancy in the logistic regression analysis(P > 0.05).Ages of white yaks was considered as a main risk factor associated with *** *** results indicated a widespread exposure to *** among white yaks,and revealed the genotype ToxoDB#9 of *** in white yaks for the first time in China.
