web services are commonly perceived as an environment of both offering opportunities and threats. In this environment, one way to minimize threats is to use reputation evaluation, which can be computed, for example, through transaction feedback. However, the current feedback-based approach is inaccurate and ineffective because of its inner limitations （e.g., feedback quality problem）. As the main source of feedback, the qualities of existing on-line reviews are often varied greatly from low to high, the main reasons include：（1） they have no standard expression formats, （2） dishonest comments may exist among these reviews due to malicious attacking. Up to present, the quality problem of review has not been well solved, which greatly degrades their importance on service reputation evaluation. Therefore, we firstly present a novel evaluation approach for review quality in terms of multiple metrics. Then, we make a further improvement in service reputation evaluation based on those filtered reviews. Experimental results show the effectiveness and efficiency of our proposed approach compared with the naive feedback-based approaches.

Open and dynamic environments lead to inher- ent uncertainty of web service QoS （Quality of Service）, and the QoS-aware service selection problem can be looked upon as a decision problem under uncertainty. We use an empiri- cal distribution function to describe the uncertainty of scores obtained from historical transactions. We then propose an approach to discovering the admissible set of services in- cluding alternative services that are not dominated by any other alternatives according to the expected utility criterion. Stochastic dominance （SD） rules are used to compare two services with uncertain scores regardless of the distribution form of their uncertain scores. By using the properties of SD rules, an algorithm is developed to reduce the number of SD tests, by which the admissible services can be reported pro- gressively. We prove that the proposed algorithm can be run on partitioned or incremental alternative services. Moreover, we achieve some useful theoretical conclusions for correct pruning of unnecessary calculations and comparisons in each SD test, by which the efficiency of the SD tests can be im- proved. We make a comprehensive experimental study using real datasets to evaluate the effectiveness, efficiency, and scal- ability of the proposed algorithm.

Smartphones and other connected devices rely on data services,such as web services(WS),Google Cloud Messaging(GCM)and Firebase Cloud Messaging(FCM),to share the information they collect or ***,these services were classified according to the average number of bytes transmitted or their delivery ***,when dealing with battery-operated devices,another important parameter to be taken into account is their power ***,software designers and developers often do not consider the efficiency of a data communication system,but are simply concerned about ease-of-use and response *** this paper,we compare FCM,GCM and two types of WS,namely Simple Object Access Protocol(SOAP)and REpresentational State Transfer(REST)WS in terms of delay,data efficiency,and power *** final outcome is that RESTful WS outperforms all others,making GCM and FCM a viable alternative only when the amount of data to be transmitted is very limited,or when the mobile application requires the advanced services offered by FCM or GCM only.

Composite web services provide promising prospects for conducting cross-organizational web service transactions. Such transactions generally require longer processing time and manipulate financially critical data. To efficiently manage these web services transactions, isolation is commonly relaxed, but inconsistency will be caused by concurrently executing isolation-relaxing transactions. This article proposes an extension to the WS-Business Activity Protocol, which ensures the consistent executions of isolation-relaxing web service transactions, and which is based on transaction dependency graphs distributed over multiple nodes. Furthermore, this article presents several algorithms implementing the protocol, and introduces the implement of a prototype system.

It is essential to build a modern information management system to store and manage data of our circumlunar explorer in order to realize the scientific objectives. It is difficult for an information system based on traditional distributed technology to communicate information and work together among heterogeneous systems in order to meet the new requirement of Internet development. XML and web services, because of their open standards and self-containing properties, have changed the mode of information organization and data management. Now they can provide a good solution for building an open, extendable, and compatible information management system, and facilitate interchanging and transferring of data among heterogeneous systems. On the basis of the three-tiered browse/server architectures and the Oracle 9i Database as an information storage platform, we have designed and implemented a data archiving and retrieval system for the circumlunar explorer-LUNARINFO. We have also successfully realized the integration between LUNARINFO and the cosmic dust database system. LUNARINFO consists of five function modules for data management, information publishing, system management, data retrieval, and interface integration. Based on XML and web services, it not only is an information database system for archiving, long-term storing, retrieving and publication of lunar reference data related to the circumlunar explorer, but also provides data web services which can be easily developed by various expert groups and connected to the common information system to realize data resource integration.

web services use an emerging service-oriented architecture for distributed computing. Many organizations are either in the process of adopting web services technology or evaluating this option for incorporation into their enterprise information architectures. Implementation of this new technology requires careful assessment of the needs and capabilities of an organization to formulate adoption strategies. This paper presents a methodology for web services adoption based on technology adoption theory and business process analyses. The methodology suggests that strategies, business areas, and functions within an organization should be considered based on the existing organizational information technology status during the process of adopting web services to support the business needs and requirements.

In this paper,we study the reliability-aware synthesis problem for composing available services automatically and guaranteeing that the composed result satisfies the specification,such as temporal constraints of functionality and reliability,centered on a synthesis model for mediator of web services composition (CSM).This approach focuses on handling attributes and state relations,and permitting users and services to operate over them,i.e.,read /write their data values and compare them according to a dense state *** show that the reliability-aware synthesis problem for the specification is EXPTIME-complete and we give an exponential-time algorithm (CSM-NSA) which for a given formula ψ and a synthesis model,synthesizes available services in the library satisfying ψ over the synthesis model (if they exist) or responds with "not satisfiable" (otherwise).The specification ψ is a fragment of PCTL (probabilistic computation tree logic),obtained from "ordinary" CTL (computation tree logic) by replacing the EX,AX,EU and AU operation with their quantitative counterparts X >p,X =1,U >p,and U =1,*** opposed to NSA,we provide a more effective algorithm to replace the NSA algorithm called CSM-HSA (heuristic synthesis algorithm).Though HSA is an incomplete algorithm,the answer is *** experiments show that the HSA algorithm solves the problem of reliability-aware service synthesis effectively and efficiently.

Most of the existing approaches focus on identifying mismatches and synthesizing adaptors at design-time or recently at run-time. However, few works have been proposed to support adaptor reconfiguration when services in the composition evolve due to changes in business needs. To address the deficiencies, the problem of adaptor reconfiguration is targeted in the context of service composition. Firstly, the formal models for describing services and adaptors are presented. Then, under this formalization,the notion of reconfiguration compliance is proposed to determine the validity of an adaptor instance with respect to its history executions and future executions. Based on the notion,the algorithm for reconfiguration analysis of adaptors is presented and it can be used for determining the migratability of an adaptor instance and the corresponding target state of reconfiguration if ***,feasibility of the proposed approach is validated on a realistic case study. The proposed approach improves the flexibility of adaptor-based service composition by equipping adaptors with reconfiguration capabilities.
