For mining under surface water,the research of seepage characteristic is a preventive work for mine water *** determination and evolution of the proportions of different mine water sources can indicate undoubtedly the potential origination of inrushing waters and facilitate protecting fresh *** Gold Mine is the largest seabed mine in China and,since its commissioning,has been faced with the problems of mine water inrush and fresh groundwater *** paper finds out the proportional relation among three kinds of sources of in-pit leakage waters at different depths of the Xinli Gold Mine through environmental isotope and hydro-chemical analysis,and considers that seawater and bedrock brine are the dominating components of which the seawater will replace the brine water *** mud layers and fault gouge as good water-resistant layers may still allow,to some extent,water to penetrate them driven by head difference as a result of the dewatering of drifts,but this did not excessively destroy fresh groundwater resource *** indicate a steady seepage field has formed in the mining area,which is an advantage for seepage simulation and inflow calculation.

Information and knowledge behind data from underground rock grouting

Data related to the pre-grouting work of a large underground project are systematically analyzed to reveal the mechanism behind,to shed some light on the execution of practical grouting,and to enrich the theory of engineering *** is generally taken as an effective way for controlling nonignorable water seepage during underground rock *** various models have been developed to guide grouting design or to specify criteria for grouting stop,it does not change the fact that grouting is still highly ***,explanation of the current situation due to grouting complexity is given through step-by-step data analysis,where the impact on grouting parameters from the geological and hydrogeological conditions is investigated,and the grouting features of two tunnels located at the same depth below the sea surface are compared and ***,the data from individual grout hole are used to construct the regional geological conditions via inverse *** is found that grouting of fractured rock masses is accompanied with great uncertainty,and field grouting data can contribute significantly to a better understanding of the regional geological conditions around an underground tunnel or rock cavern.

The coastal Sanshandao mine is threatened by the overlying Quaternary water and *** an introduction to the geology and hydrogeological conditions in the mine area,a detailed hydrogeological survey and sampling were conducted and hydrochemical and stable isotopic(δ H andδO)tests on various waters were carried out to characterize the origin of water in the mine *** and statistical analysis indicated that the northwest-trending fractures with large dip angles and long trace lengths are well developed in the northeast compared with those in the southwest of the *** permeability coefficients of the rock masses are in the range 4.19×10-2.25×10m/s,indicating that the fractured rock masses have generally low *** seepage water had higher values of EC,total dissolved solids,and concentrations of most elements than the seawater and saline ***,the isotope composition of the waters indicated that the seepage water was more isotopically enriched than seawater but less than *** proportions of the three different sources were calculated based on hydrochemical and isotopic ***,the mine water was composed of 72%seawater,14.8%brine,and 13.2%atmospheric precipitation,***,some preventive measures are essential to avoid the probability of seawater inrush.

This paper presents a case study investigation into the hydrogeological characteristics and permeability of rock mass in a seabed *** an introduction to the geology and hydrogeological conditions in the Xinli mine area,we reveal the features of the preferred structural planes,dynamic characteristics of mine water seepage,and the permeability of the fractured rock mass in the *** permeability of the pit rock mass shows varied characteristics at different geotectonic locations because of the different degrees to which the structural planes developed. The fractured rock mass generally shows low permeability, and the main composition of water seepage is high-salinity *** large-scale undersea mining may induce rock mass movement,destroy water-resistant layers,and enhance water transmissibility and the probability of water gushing into the ***,strengthening the quality of the filling mass,protecting the stope roof and the water-resistant layers, as well as regular monitoring of water seepage discharge and identification of water sources are critical to work safety and the prevention of seawater gushing in the mine.
