弥赛亚主义通常是指某个受苦受难的民族或全人类在未来能通过弥赛亚而获得拯救的宗教、政治、哲学、社会、历史和文化学说。康德、费希特、黑格尔、罗森茨威格、布洛赫、本雅明、列维纳斯等都提出了重要的弥赛亚思想。而德里达在全球霸权借助于远程技术和多媒体等高科技而使得世界局势动荡不安、人类生活变得愈加艰难的新苦难时代，倡导一种超越复仇和功利算计的作为赠礼的正义观，阐发了其“没有弥赛亚主义的弥赛亚”理论。本文拟从德里达关于“时代”“正义”“弥赛亚”这三者的理论内涵及其相互关系来论述德里达的弥赛亚何以“没有弥赛亚主义”，并对此种独特的弥赛亚理论作出几点理论评述，结论是：德里达“没有弥赛亚主义的弥赛亚”不仅没有否定弥赛亚主义，而且是对弥赛亚主义的一种回应，对某种马克思主义批判精神的一种回应，对政治行动主义的一种回应，对西方主体性形而上学的一种回应。德里达的弥赛亚思想，在福山宣称的“历史终结”处解构历史的终结以便超越历史的终结，因而，它既非宗教弥赛亚主义，也非本雅明主义，更非马克思主义理论，而是一种解构主义政治哲学。

Translation and Time： A Memento of the Curvature of the Poststructuralist Plane

Ever since Derrida＇s appropriation of walter benjamin＇s ＂The Task of the Translator,＂ and the deconstruction of the traditional notion of translation as an unequivocal communication of meaning, ＂translation＂ has become a powerful conceptual means in many fields of the humanities to underscore the agency of the subalterns in the context of colonialism, imperialism, or globalization, and to emphasize historical contingency over against necessity. As a matter of consequence, however, the question of the historically specific condition of the possibility of such ＂translation＂ has been largely neglected. In this essay I will argue, that a profound understanding of the processes of social and cultural transformation, which have been conceptualized in terms of ＂translation,＂ can not be achieved unless global capitalism and its specific temporal dynamics are taken into consideration more seriously. Finally, this approach will also enable us to re-read benjamin, and to reassess the significance of his ＂Task＂ for a more powerful critique of a social formation, ＂which produces commodities.＂

Conflict, Order, Harmony： The Modern Meaning of the Confucian Tradition

An examination of how a focus on the reading of traditional Confucian texts as a spiritual exercise can enable us to deal productively with modem understandings of the divergences among different ideals of human excellence. An investigation of such ideals has often focused on virtue discourse, but that discourse generates understandable suspicions in many people. A productive approach to these suspicions is to examine both the idea that new virtues （such as spiritual regret） are needed, and the notion that three distinctive modem emphases must play a central role in any contemporary consideration of the relationships among diverse ideals. After considering two kinds of principled opposition to this approach, we turn to walter benjamin＇s exemplary account of the huge gulf between modern and traditional understandings, and the possible aid some texts may offer in bridging it. Focusing on the distinctive operation of specific forms of presentation in the Confucian tradition, we conclude by investigating the idea that reading Confucian texts can be seen even today as an illuminating kind of spiritual exercise.

Translating Literarily:From Cognition to Creation

Following benjamin’s metaphysical conception of pure language and his argument regarding impurity of naming by human languages, this article defines translation as a phenomenon of cross-over-naming before arguing that a literary text should be translated literarily. In this literary mode of translation, the language of the text, that is, how it(over-)names things, deserves "special kinds of attention"(Culler), while the subject matter serves as a catalyst that triggers the creation of a target text. Similar to its literary provenance, the target text, literarily translated, should be a work of art in its own right in that its language, by way of naming things, plays a principal role in inducing a poetic vision or yi jing in the reader ’s mind. From the perspective of over-naming, the article further examines the cognitive implications of the metaphor Translation is a bridge, observing how each translation as a bridge would facilitate, limit, as well as block cross-cultural communication because of the over-ness in its naming of the things already named in the source text.

A Comparative Analysis of Three English Translations of Li Qingzhao's Sheng Sheng Man in Two Different Theoretical Frameworks

Demanding as it has always been, verse translation is a suitable subject to observe on what ground and how translators make their choices to deal with translation problems. 现代性是以同质、线性的进步论历史时间意识作为根基的，现代性的时间观从前提上规定了作为“当下”的现代的重要性，并进而表达着“现在”在时间链上向将来延伸的想象与希望。本雅明的审美时间观集中体现在他对于普鲁斯特的解读与犹太教弥赛亚的期待上。普鲁斯特小说里的时间是“为经验所充满的时间”，那些被回忆召唤出来的时间，在每一个瞬间都开启着完整精神世界的闸门。本雅明的弥赛亚时间观可以说是他眼中的普鲁斯特时间观哲学化、神学化的版本，是对前者更深刻更隐秘的阐解。本雅明想要解除历史进步论机械时间链条的禁锢，打破有关“进步”与未来的意识形态神话，开拓出超越因果联系铁律的自由空间，尽力从现代性的时间暴政下解放出来。本雅明的时间观念又与现代性时间观矛盾地纠结，并具有强烈的乌托邦特征。

“时间/事件”视角是一个打破既定本雅明研究分析框架的理论契机。在《德意志悲苦剧的起源》中，本雅明讨论了作为悲苦剧题材的历史事件、象征和寄喻所内置的时间维度以及悲苦剧情节、舞台、人物设计中体现出的时间与因果性问题；在《讲故事的人》中，本雅明讨论了小说与故事中的时间/事件、死亡与时间/事件的关系；在《历史的概念》中，本雅明分析了Erkennbarkeit(可被辨识)与Augenbilck(片刻)、Jetztziet(此时此刻)与线性历史之间的辩证关系问题，也提出了自己对于历史唯物主义和时间/事件关系的理解。总之，“时间/事件”视角有助于清晰描绘出本雅明作为革命理论家的核心理念与思想谱系。
