Some physical and chemical properties, mineral content and fatty acid compositions of kernel and oils of several walnut types (Büyük Oba, Kaman2, Kaman5) were determined. The oil yields from these kernels changed between 61.4% to 72.8%. The crude fibre contents of ker nels ranged between 3.77% and 3.80%. In add ition, crude protein contents of kernels ranged between 7.05% and 8.10%. While the peroxide values of kernel oils change between 3.18 meq/ Kg and 3.53 meq/Kg, acidity values ranged be tween 0.35% and 0.56%. The main fatty acids of walnut kernel oils were oleic, linoleic, linolenic and palmitic acids. Linoleic acid contents of ker nel oils varied between 49.7% and 55.5%. On the other hand, oleic acid contents ranged between 20.5% and 26.4%. As a result, the present study showed the walnut kernels of the researched species of walnut kernels from Turkey are a potential source of valuable oil which might be used for edible and other industrial applica tions.

Cankered, dying seedlings of Juglans regia were observed in Shaanxi province in the northwest region of China. Neofusicoccum parvum was isolated from these cankered tissues, with the identification based on mor- phology and an ITS-nrDNA sequence. In order to demonstrate how cultures of N. parvum could cause the expected symptoms, artificial infection, using these isolates and re-isolation of the pathogen, was used. This is the first report on this taxon as a walnut canker pathogen in China.

Caligula Japonica has continuously broken out in large scale in Longnan City, Gansu Province of China, causing heavy economic losses. In order to ef- fectively control the insect and to increase the production benefit of walnut in Longnan, the authors have investigated and observed the morphological characters and living habits of C. Japonica. The major causes of continuous large-scale occurrence of C. Japonica in Longnan City are analyzed concretely, and the integrated con- trol measures are put forward from the aspects of silvicultural measures, physical control, chemical control and biological control.

[Objectives] This study was conducted to establish an analytical method for the determination of ethephon residue in walnuts by UPLC-MS/MS. [Methods] This study was conducted to establish an analytical method for the determination of ethephon residue in walnuts by UPLC-MS/MS. [Results] The limit of quantification was 0.1 mg/kg and the recoveries were 94%-105% with the relative standard deviations of 0.82%-2.64% at the spiked levels of 0.1-5.0 mg/kg. [Conclusions] The accuracy and sensitivity of the method meet the requirements of pesticide residue analysis, and the experimental method is simple to operate.

针对短波信道衰落特征复杂,难以在仿真中较为真实的重现这一问题,提出了一种基于NS2和VOACAP联合仿真的短波信道模拟方法。采用walnut Street模型作为基础,将短波信道衰落划分为慢衰落、中等时间尺度的衰落和快衰落。在实现短波信道衰落模型时,按需在C++中调用VOACAP计算慢衰落,使用对数正态分布模拟中等时间尺度的衰落,使用瑞利分布来模拟快衰落。仿真结果表明,此模型能够较好地反映短波信道的衰落特点,不同频率的衰落随时间的变化与理论和经验相符,可以作为短波网络仿真的物理层信道模型;同时,所采取的联合仿真方法避免了事先计算链路衰落的繁琐性,更加适合于大规模的短波网络仿真。
