A new and efficient Grey wolf Optimization(GWO)algorithm is implemented to solve real power economic dispatch(RPED)problems in this *** nonlinear RPED problem is one the most important and fundamental optimization problem which reduces the total cost in generating real power without violating the *** methods can solve the ELD problem with good solution quality with assumptions assigned to fuel cost curves without which these methods lead to suboptimal or infeasible *** behavior of grey wolves which is mimicked in the GWO algorithm are leadership hierarchy and hunting *** leadership hierarchy is simulated using four types of grey *** addition,searching,encircling and attacking of prey are the social behaviors implemented in the hunting *** GWO algorithm has been applied to solve convex RPED problems considering the all possible *** results obtained from GWO algorithm are compared with other state-ofthe-art algorithms available in the recent *** is found that the GWO algorithm is able to provide better solution quality in terms of cost,convergence and robustness for the considered ELD problems.

Traveling salesman problem(TSP) is one of the typical NP-hard problems, and it has been used in many engineering applications. However, the previous swarm intelligence(SI) based algorithms for TSP cannot coordinate with the exploration and exploitation abilities and are easily trapped into local optimum. In order to deal with this situation, a new hybrid optimization algorithm based on wolf pack search and local search(WPS-LS)is proposed for TSP. The new method firstly simulates the predatory process of wolf pack from the broad field to a specific place so that it allows for a search through all possible solution spaces and prevents wolf individuals from getting trapped into local optimum. Then, local search operation is used in the algorithm to improve the speed of solving and the accuracy of solution. The test of benchmarks selected from TSPLIB shows that the results obtained by this algorithm are better and closer to the theoretical optimal values with better robustness than those obtained by other methods.

Olfactory receptors（ORs）,the first dedicated molecules with which odorants physically interact to arouse an olfactory sensation,constitute the largest gene family in *** and wolves,like many other mammals,have a highly developed capability to detect and identify odorant molecules,even at minimum *** this study,the olfactory receptor repertoire from domestic dog and its closest relative,the wolf,were sequenced to estimate the fraction of pseudogenes in each *** fraction of disrupted olfactory receptor genes in dog was 17.78%,whereas,that in wolf was 12.08%.As expected the dog was less dependent on olfaction than the wolf,and the dog had more olfactory receptor ***,the observed difference between the two subspecies was not at the significant level（χ2 = 1.388,p = 0.239 0.05）.The values indicated that although domestication might play a role in the reduction of OR genes,it could not be concluded that the living environment provided by domestication lead to a significant reduction of the functional olfactory receptor ***,the purpose of domestication may also have influence on the ratio of functional olfactory receptor genes reduction.

In this paper, food habits of the wolf (Canis lupus) was determined in Inner Monolia, using scat analysis. Results indicated that ungulates were the staple food items(frequency 53.8%, relative biomass 85.2%). In the scats, animals was 40.3% by the frequency of occurrence, and 75.7% by the relative biomass. Compared with the food habits of wolves in Heilongjiang Province, wolves showed a different pattern in prey selection in this ergion. In this study, we estimated the relative biomass of food items, and amount of each prey ingested by a wolf, based on a linear regression equation, y=2.76+0.02x(r=0.997), which was obtained in the feeding trials, It is suggerted that wolves are opportunistic predator. Some suggestions for wolf conservation and management were disussed.

The overall population of wolf is also declining. ln some countries, wolves are endangered or even extinct. Now some countries have pIaced the woIf on the natjonal Iist of protected animals. Alaska of the United States and Canada are the widely distributed areas of wolves in the world.

The article discusses the socio-cultural aspect of the popular musical tale Peter and the wolf by Sergei Prokofiev (1891-1953). The discussion takes into account the circumstances of composer’s life at time of writing the piece, as well as the political and ideological context of Soviet Russia of the 1930s. The main discussion is connected with the campaign of the Soviet authorities against formalism in musical art, which led to a ban on the staging of many works for the musical theater, including Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet commissioned by the Kirov (Mariinsky) Theater in Leningrad just a year before the ban. The circumstances surrounding the arrest of Prokofiev’s first wife are part of the discussion, along with an explanation of what “pioneer Peter” means. The author claims that, conceived as a children’s fairy tale, the work has an ambiguous ending, which can be viewed as a kind of prophecy expressed in Aesopian language.
