The interaction of Eu^3＋-rutin with CT DNA was studied by uv-visible spectroscopy and electrochemistry. All experimental results indicate that the complex binds to DNA by the electrostatic mode and the groove binding mode. Information such as intrinsic binding costant （ k = 1. 426 × 104 mol·L^-1 ）, and binding numbers （ n = 2）, were determined by cyclic vohammetry and differential pulse vohammetry at glass carbon electrode. Interaction between Eu^3＋ with rutin was also studied by uv-visible spectroscopy.

Abstract： In the present work, studies the effect uv-radiation dose （5 J/cm2 to 360 J/cm2 ） with power 15 W to LR-115 track detector thickness 100 μm. Absorbance-A was measured at wavelength 600 nm and 650 nm by usinguv-visible spectroscopy and measure the transmission percent -- T% and deviation at the wavenumber-w2907 cm1 by using Fourier infrared -- FTIR spectroscopy. The relationship between the dose of radiation to the uv-radiation （J/cm2） and the absorbance-A at wavelength 600 nm and 650 nm and the wavenumber-w 2907 cm-1 was calculate as a polynomial relation .The present study show that there is a possibility to use the detector LR- 115 to assessment doses of exposure to uv-radiation in the medical and environmental fields.

In the present work,we have synthesized samarium doped zinc oxide nanostructures(Zn1-xSmxO;x=0.00,0.02,0.04 and 0.06) via chemical precipitation method and studied their structural,morphological,optical and photocatalytic properties.X-ray diffraction(XRD) patterns,PL and Raman spectra results indicate that the undoped and Sm-doped ZnO nanostructures are crystallized in a hexagonal wurtzite *** images show that the morphology of the sample changes from cubical to hexagonal nanostructures with increase in Sm3+doping *** EDX spectra confirm the incorporation of Sm3+ion in *** influence of Sm3+doping on the structure,morphology,absorption,emission and photocatalytic activity of ZnO nanostructures were investigated *** addition of Sm3+ion leads to a red shift in the optical energy band gap from 3.19 to 2.67 eV and hence,increases the visible light absorption *** presence of E2(H) and E1(LO) modes in microRaman spectra confirms the crystallinity and defects in the *** detailed photocatalytic experiments reveal that Sm-doped ZnO nanostructures show the maximum photodegradation efficiency for Methylene blue(MB) dye for x=0.04,i,e.,94.94%,under visible light *** photocatalytic efficiency improves by 6.98 times when ZnO is doped with rare earth metal ion(Sm3+) and is a potential candidate for practical *** investigation demonstrates that as-synthesized nano-sized photocatalysts act as an efficient photocatalyst for the degradation of MB dye.

The optical properties of substituted fluorenones with diverse structures have been analyzed using molecular orbital calculations in order to understand the structure-property relations. Based on theoretical predictions, synthesis of some model compounds has been attempted. The experimentally obtained optical properties are in close agreement with the theoretically obtained results.

The microstructure of aqueous CuCl2 has been studied through lots of technologies for many years; however, it remains a controversial subject. In this study, a new spectroscopic method has been proposed to analyze the uv-visible spectra of thin fihn of CuCl2/H2O solutions at different concentrations. This method is the combination of ratio spectra, difference spectra and second order difference spectra. By using this method, two new bands at -230 and -380 nm are obviously observed. The bands are assigned as the contacted ion pairs [CuCl3（H2O）n]- or [CuCl4（H2O）n]2-, which demonstrates that ion pairs exist in the CuCl2/H2O solution. Such finding agrees with the recent theoretical spectra obtained by time-dependent density functional theory. Furthermore, the populations of the contacted ion pairs are discussed. This study not only offers the direct spectroscopic evidence of [CuCl3（H2O）n]- or [CuCl4（H2O）n]2- in aqueous CuCl2, but also suggests that the spec- troscopic analysis method is powerful to extract the weak bands in a strong overlapping spectrum.

We study here the response of photonic hydrogels(PHs),made of photonic crystals of homogeneous silica particles in polyacrylamide hydrogels(SPHs),to the uranyl ions 22 UO_(2)^(2+) in aqueous *** is found that the reflection spectra of the SPH show a peak due to the Bragg diffraction,which exhibits a blue shift in the presence of 22 UO_(2)^(2+).Upon exposure to the SPH,22 UO_(2)^(2+)gets adsorbed on the SPH and forms complex coordinate bonds with multiple ligands on the SPH,which causes shrinking of hydrogel and leads to the blue shift in the diffraction *** amount of the blue shift in the diffraction peak increases monotonically up to 22 UO_(2)^(2+)concentrations as high as 2300μ*** equilibration time for the shift in the Bragg peak upon exposure to 22 UO_(2)^(2+)is found to be~30 *** results are in contrast to the earlier reports on photonic hydrogels of inhomogeneous microgel particles hydrogel(MPH),which shows the threshold 22 UO_(2)^(2+)concentration of~600μM,below which the diffraction peak exhibits a blue shift and a change to a red shift above *** equilibration time for MPH is~300 *** observed monotonic blue shift and the faster time response of the SPH to 22 UO_(2)^(2+)as compared to the MPH are explained in terms of homogeneous nature of silica particles in the SPH,against the porous and polymeric nature of microgels in the *** also study the extraction of 22 UO_(2)^(2+)from aqueous solutions using the *** extraction capacity estimated by the arsenazo-III analysis is found to be 112 mM/kg.

The degradation behavior of ethyl xanthate(EX) salt was the most widely used collector in sulfide mineral flotation and emission of flotation tailings with residual EX was harmful to environment. In this work, hydrogen peroxide(H2O2) was investigated by uv-visible spectroscopy(uv/Vis) at different p H values from 3 to 12. For p H value from 5 to 12, EX was oxidized into ethyl per xanthate(EPX) by H2O2. Then EPX was further oxidized into thiosulfate(TS) salt rather than ethyl thiocarbonate(ETC) and this step was the reaction-limited step. Then depending on p H values, TS was degraded into sulphate and carbonate salts(p H>7) or elemental sulfur(p H3.0 during test time.

A strong interaction between double stranded calf-thymus DNA (ds-DNA) and adrenaline in solution, but no interaction between single stranded calf-thymus DNA (ss-DNA) and adrenaline was observed by the use of uv-visible spectroscopy and voltammetric techniques. It is suggested that the interaction leads to an intercalation of adrenaline molecules into the groove of ds-DNA and the formation of ds-DNA (adrenaline )?complex. The binding site size of the interaction of adrenaline with CT-DNA in nucleotide phosphate [NP] has been determined as 25. The interaction of different concentration a-drenaline with DNA modified GCE shows that the DNA modified GCE can be a good tool to detect lower concentration a-drenaline.

A novel thiosemicarbazide derivative, （E）-1-（9-（2-（2-methoxyethoxy）ethyl）-9H-carbazol-3-yl） methylene）-thiosemicarbazide （CMT）, was synthesized and structurally characterized by IR, 1H-NMR, EI-MS and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in monoclinic, space group P21/c with a = 14.769（5）, b = 8.279（5）, c = 17.166（5） , β = 114.391（5）°, V = 1911.6（14） 3, Z = 4, F（000） = 784, Dc = 1.287 g/m3, Mr = 370.47, μ = 0.190 mm-1, the final R = 0.0390 and wR = 0.1358 for 1446 observed reflections with Ⅰ 〉 2σ（Ⅰ）. The uv-vis absorption spectra of CMT were explained based on quantum chemical calculations, using time dependent density functional theory （TD-DFT） at the B3LYP/6-31G （d） level.
