SIMULATION OF VIBRATIONAL STATUS OF GAS—turbine engine

In this paper three types of mathematic models have been established to predict thevibrational characteristics of gas-turbine engine. Nonaxisymmetric models are used tosimulate the support structures of real engines. Bending, pitching and torsion modes underfree and forced vibration are all considered in the calculation with satisfied accuracy. Forthe axisymmetric and nonaxisymmetric models of gas turbine engines, the relationship betweenamplitude and frequency response under forced vibration is obtained by experimentalways. The different relationship between amplitude and frequeney response at differentsection of an engine could be developed by the further research of the axisymmetricmathematic models.

PID Parameters for Tuning and Optimization of a turbine engineBased on the Simplex Search Method

A PID parameters tuning and optimization method for a turbine engine based on the simplex search method was proposed. Taking time delay of combustion and actuator into account, a simulation model of a PID control system for a turbine engine was developed. A performance index based on the integral of absolute error （IAE） was given as an objective function of optimization. In order to avoid the sensitivity that resulted from the initial values of the simplex search method, the traditional Ziegler-Nichols method was used to tune PID parameters to obtain the initial values at first, then the simplex search method was applied to optimize PID parameters for the turbine engine. Simulation results indicate that the simplex search method is a reasonable and effective method for PID controller parameters tuning and optimization.

A fault tolerant model for multi-sensor measurement

Abstract Multisensor systems are very powerful in the complex environments. The cointegration theory and the vector error correction model, the statistic methods which widely applied in economic analysis, are utilized to create a fitting model for homogeneous sensors measurements. An algorithm is applied to implement the model for error correction, in which the signal of any sensor can be esti mated from those of others. The model divides a signal series into two parts, the training part and the estimated part. By comparing the estimated part with the actual one, the proposed method can iden tify a sensor with possible faults and repair its signal. With a small amount of training data, the right parameters for the model in real time could be found by the algorithm. When applied in data analysis for aero engine testing, the model works well. Therefore, it is not only an effective method to detect any sensor failure or abnormality, but also a useful approach to correct possible errors.
