Based on production data and metallurgical theory, this study discusses the control of inclusions in Baosteel’s products from the perspective of three key processes: converting, refining, and continuous casting(CC).The control of converter slagging, refining oxygen blowing(OB),and CC are *** on metallurgical theory, this research investigates the effects of refining OB decarburization and argon blowing in a tundish on the oxygen content of molten *** theory and practice is beneficial to the discovery of new ways to tackle existing problems and the development of intelligent manufacturing.

Carbon-free basic dry vibration mix was prepared using middle grade magnesia and fused magnesia as main starting materials,metasilicate replacing phenolic resin as binder,adding a certain amount of medium and low temperature intensifiers. Effects of binder,grain composition,and additives on basic dry vibration mix for tundish were studied,and the bonding mechanism was also analyzed. The results show that：（1） when using metasilicate as binder,the higher strength can be acquired; （2） the suitable grain composition is q=0.48,the critical granularity is 5 or 3 mm,the fines addition is 10%-20% （mass percent）; （3） the strength and corrosion resistance of the basic dry vibration mix can be improved by the melting compound of metasilicate and additives; （4） with temperature rising,the bonding type in dry vibration mix changes from cohere bonding to reaction bonding,and then to ceramic bonding at last.

Numerical modeling of influence of thermal flow coupling on flow characteristics of molten steel

Using the equation of continuity and the double equation of Navier-Stokes and k-ε, numerical modeling on a single outlet continuous casting tundish has been carried out during the process of non-thermal flow coupling. The flow field distribution inside the tundish was calculated and the viscosity response time was calculated with the mass transfer equation based on the flow field distribution. The flow characteristics of the molten steel inside the tundish were analyzed, with the results of the numerical modeling compared to the hydraulic modeling. The results showed that the Resident Time Distribution （RTD） curves in the latter anatomosed comparatively better. This certified the validity established by the mathematical model. Numerical modeling was carried out on both large and small tundishes during the processes of thermal flow coupling and also thermal non-flow coupling. The results showed that in regards to large tundishes with relatively simple flow processes, using numerical modeling for thermal flow coupling is necessary.

To enhance the serdice life of magnesia based slag dam, composite slag dam was designed to be cast with alumina magnesia castables in slag line and magnesia castables in molten steel zone. Workability of the magnesia castables for the slag dam was improved and a suitable vibration shaping method was adopted to combine it with alumina magnesia castables. The result shows：（1） workability and setting performance of magtwsia castables can be improved to match with alumina magnesia castables by adjusting setting retarder and water reducing agent, and adding proper silica fume ; （2） composite slag dam cart be prepared with alumina m,agnesia castables and the improved magnesia castables, whether by up - down composite method or right - left composite method; in order to get full vibration arrd make interface .fluctuation have proper amplitude, the vibration time oJ the two methods after two different castables contact with each other is 3 and 2.5 minutes, respectively; （3）the result of the on-site test proves that the design aims for reducing pollution to hot metal and improving corrosion resistance have been achieved.
