Objective： To systematically evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of tuina therapy for primary insomnia. Methods： Nine Chinese and English databases were searched from the inception to May 2017 to identify randomized controlled trials （RCTs） studying tuina therapy for insomnia. The enrolled articles were all RCTs with tuina as the monotherapy or major therapy in the experiment group, with clear diagnostic criteria for primary insomnia well recognized worldwide or in China, and Pittsburgh sleep quality index （PSQI） as one of the outcome measures. Two researchers evaluated the risk of bias and quality of the enrolled studies by following Cochrane Handbook version 5.1.0. The meta-analysis was performed by RevMan version 5.3. Results： Eleven studies were included with a total of I 076 participants. The Western medication adopted in the control groups were benzodiazepine receptor agonists. The studies were all assessed as high risk of bias for blinding since blinding method was unable to be performed due to the specificity of tuina therapy; no study reported the support of fund or potential interest conflict, so they were all rated unclear for selective reporting. The meta-analysis showed that compared with other traditional Chinese medicine therapies, tuina worked more effectively in reducing the PSQI score （MD=-4.11〈O, 95% confidence interval （CI） -6.01 to -2.22, P〈0.O001）; compared with oral administration of Western medication, tuina showed more significant efficacy in reducing the PSQI score （MD=-3.42〈0, 95%CI -5.19 to -1.66, P〈0.O001）. Subgroup analysis showed that head tuina alone showed no significant difference compared with oral administration of Western medication regarding the change of PSQI score （MD=-4.19〈O, 95%CI -8.87 to 0.50, P〉0.05）; a combination of head and back tuina could more effectively reduce the PSOJ score compared with oral administration of Western medication （MD=-2.08〈O, 95%CI -3.09 to -1.06, P〈0.O001）. OBJECTIVE:To determine the clinical effect,treatment times,and rheoencephalogram changes in vertebral artery type cervical spondylosis patients treated with innovative tuina ***:One hundred and twenty six cervical spondylosis patients(vertebral artery type) were randomly divided into test and control *** in the test group were treated with innovative tuina manipulations,while those in the control group were treated with the routine tuina manipulations according to the textbook of Chinese Massage for Acupuncture and Moxibustion *** clinical effects,treatment times,clinical symptoms,and cerebral blood flow were ***:The response to the treatment was 100% in the test group and 88.71% in the control *** in the test group required(7 ± 4) treatments before recovery,while those in the control group required(15 ± 7) treatments before recovery(Ptuina manipulations and routine tuina manipulations produced satisfactory therapeutic results in vertebral artery type cervical spondylosis ***,the innovative manipulation was more effective in improving the functional symptoms,although there were no changes in the cerebral blood flow.

Objective:To observe the effects of tuina(Chinese therapeutic massage)combined with graded motor imagery(GMI)on the upper-limb motor function and quality of life(QOL)in patients with poststroke ***:A total of 216 patients with hemiplegia caused by stroke were randomized into two groups by tossing a coin,with 108 cases in each *** control group was treated with GMI,and the observation group was given additional tuina treatment for four weeks in *** and after the treatment,the Fugl-Meyer assessment for upper extremity(FMA-UE),supper-limb/hand Brunnstrom staging,box and block test(BBT)for hand,co-contraction ratio(CR)of the upper-limb muscles,visual analog scale(VAS)for shoulder pain,modified Ashworth scale(MAS),modified Barthel index(MBI),and short-form 36-item health survey(SF-36)were adopted for observation of the two ***:After the treatment,the scores of FMA-UE,upper-limb/hand Brunnstrom staging,hand BBT,MBI,and SF-36 increased(Ptuina combined with GMI can produce more significant effects in improving the upper-limb motor function and QOL in patients with hemiplegia after stroke.

Objective：To study the effect of tuina combined with Jin Gui Shen Qi Decoction on lumbar spinal stenosis. Methods： In the prospective study, seventy outpatients were divided into a treatment and a control group, 36 cases in the treatment group and 34 in the control group. The treatment group was treated with tuina combined with Jin Gui Shen Qi Decoction, but the control group was treated using tuina alone. The therapeutic effect was evaluated using Japanese Orthopaedic Association （JOA） score. Results： No significant difference in JOA score was found between the two groups before treatment （P〉0.05）, but significant improvements were found in both groups after treatment and at the final follow-up （P〈0.05）, and the JOA score in the treatment group was significantly higher than that in the control group （P〈0.05）. After treatment and at the final follow-up, the therapeutic effect in the treatment group was significantly better （P〈0.05）. Conclusion： tuina combined with Jin GuiShen Qi Decoction was more effective than tuina alone for lumbar spinal stenosis.

tuina is a physical therapy for treatment and prevention of diseases. The predecessors had summed up the systematic tuina manipulations through experiences. In order to study the scientificity and usability of the technology, the researchers established a mathematical model of tuina man ipulati ons, and used video tech no logy to capture the trajectory of the manipulations. Using the mechanical sensor to sense the real manipulations, researchers developed a tuina manipulation in strument and obtained a lot of basic mecha nics data about the man ipulati on tech no logy. Through the summary of the research results of the predecessors, accurate, true and comprehe nsive mecha nical parameters of tech no logy of tuina manipulations were obtained to guide the research and development of instruments of tuina manipulations, and promote the development of the discipline of tuina scienee.

Shaolin Neigong （internal ***） of tuina exercise is a distinctive part of Neigong tuina. Since the 1980s, domestic basic study on Shaoiin Neigong has mainly focused on its physiologic effects, and has preliminarily proved that Shaolin Neigong can enhance the aerobic capacity, cardio-pulmonary function, and muscle strength of human body. By summarizing the literatures studying the effects of Shaolin Neigong on respiratory, circulatory, locomotor and nervous systems, this article was to understand the modern research, inheritance and protection of Shaolin Neigong. The results indicate that the modern research on Shaolin Neigong is relatively slow. Continuous development, continuity and innovation in basic research, teaching and clinical practices are required, to enhance the general and therapeutic level of tuina exercises and tuina science of traditional Chinese medicine.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of tuina(Chinese therapeutic massage)manipulation plus horse-riding squat exercise in treating knee osteoarthritis(KOA)and optimize the combining *** Based on a 2×2 factorial design,120 eligible KOA patients were randomized into a manipulation group(group A1B2),a manipulation plus horse-riding squat group(group A1B1),a sitting knee-adjustment group(group A2B2 group),and a sitting knee-adjustment plus horse-riding squat group(group A2B1),with 30 cases in each *** intervention was conducted three times a week,lasting for four *** Western Ontario and McMaster Universities osteoarthritis index(WOMAC)was taken as the major measure for efficacy evaluation(including three component scores,pain,stiffness,and daily function,and total score).Results The three component scores(pain,stiffness,and daily function)and the total score of WOMAC showed significant differences after the intervention in the four groups(P0.05).The extensor peak torque at 180°/s changed significantly in group A1B2 after treatment(P0.05).The main effect of manipulation showed significant in affecting the WOMAC pain and total scores(P<0.05).The main effect of horse-riding squat exercise showed significant in affecting the WOMAC pain and stiffness sco

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of lung-clearing and spleen-strengthening tuina on exogenous cough in ***:A total of 77 children with exogenous cough that met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group according to the random number table,with 39 cases in the treatment group and 38 cases in the control *** routine lung-clearing manipulation was used in the two groups,while the spleen-strengthening manipulation was added in the treatment *** groups were treated once a day,5 times as a course of *** one course of treatment,the symptom score and clinical efficacy were ***:There were one dropout in the treatment group and 2 dropouts in the control ***,a total of 74 cases were finally included in the analysis,with 38 cases in the treatment group and 36 cases in the control *** treatment,there was a statistically significant difference in cough score between the two groups(Ptuina manipulation alone for children with exogenous cough;regulating spleen and stomach can improve the curative efficacy of exogenous cough in children.

Comparison of curative effect of different media in pediatric tuina for infantile muscular torticollis

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of different media in pediatric tuina treatment for children with muscular ***:A total of 80 children with muscular torticollis were randomized into an observation group and a control group,40 cases in each *** groups received conventional pediatric tuina *** observation group was treated with Bai Mai ointment as the massage medium,while the common lubrication oil was used as medium in the control *** groups were treated five times a week,20 min for each time,20 times constituted a course of *** traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome scores were evaluated before and after treatment,and the curative effect was observed after 3 courses and 6 courses of treatment ***:The TCM syndrome scores improved in both groups after treatment,and the intra-group differences were statistically significant(both P〈0.01).The score of the observation group was statistically different from that in the control group(P〈0.05).In the observation group,the total effective rates after 3 courses and 6 courses of treatment were 95.0%and 100.0%,respectively,versus 87.5%and 95.0%in the control *** total effective rates of the two groups were statistically different(both P〈0.05).Conclusion:Bai Mai ointment has a better curative effect than the common lubricating oil as a massage medium in the treatment of children with muscular torticollis.
