Antidiarrheal and antimicrobial profiles extracts of the leaves from trichilia emetica Vahl.(Meliaceae)

Objective:To evaluate and-diarrhoeal and antimicrobial activities of the bioactive fraction of trichilia emetica in order to provide a scientific basis for the management of gastroenteritis in Burkina ***:To do this,polyphenols content of extract and fractions were ***,AlCl_3 methods and tannic acid respectively were used for polyphenols *** in vivo antidiarrhocal activity was done using Swiss albino mice of both *** vitro antimicrobial activity(disc-diffusion assay,minimum inhibitory concentration and minimum microbicidal concentration or minimal bactericidal concentration) was assessed using seven bacteria strains(Gram-negative and Gram-positive).Results:About our study,it was found that ethyl acetate fraction effective attenuation factior(EAF) elicits the higher total phenolics and total flavonoids contents compared to the extracts of leaves of Trichilici *** of trichilia emetica Vahl..has positive effects in a dose dependent manner against diarrhoea induced by castor oil in experimental *** bioactive fraction also showed good antimicrobial activity against all tested Gram-negative and Grampositive bacteria *** was shown that experimental bacteria strains were more sensitive to the EAF effect compared to the ***:The obtained results allow justifying the traditional uses of trichilia emetica and possess good antidiarrhoeal and antimicrobial activities of EAF from trichilia *** of the present study have clearly supported the utilization of trichilia emetica in Burkina Faso traditional medicine.

Population Structure and Regeneration Status of <i>trichilia dregeana</i>Sond. in Heavily and Less Disturbed Areas of Kalinzu Forest Reserve, South Western Uganda

The population structure and regeneration status of trichilia dregeana in heavily and less disturbed habitats of Kalinzu forest reserve were assessed in 2013. The species was used locally for medicines, fire wood and making household utensils, a situation that rendered it vulnerable. Given this dependence by local communities, the population of the species was under human pressure due to demand. This necessitated a critical understanding of how the population structure was affected by such disturbance although in some species, population structure disturbance increased resilience. Size-class distribution and regeneration status were used to determine the population structure as influenced by human disturbance. Four plots of 20 × 10 m were randomly established in each forest type and all T. dregeana trees of diameter ≥ 10 cm were counted and their DBH was measured at 1.3 m from the ground. In each of these plots, a 10 × 10 m plot was made and saplings DBH ≥ 2 - 10 cm were enumerated. Inside each 10 × 10 m plot, a 5 × 5 m plot was made and T. dregeana seedlings (trichilia dregeana is dominated by juveniles with total absence of individuals of DBH ≥ 22 cm, due to selective harvesting of mature individuals. In order to stop harvesting of this species from the natural forest, there should be an effort to provide seedlings to local communities so that they grow it on their farms.

以顽拗性trichilia dregeana Sond．种子为材料，研究其胚轴的脱水敏感性与抗坏血酸的抗氧化作用。rdregeana胚轴的脱水耐性随着脱水进程逐渐下降，50％的胚轴被脱水致死的含水量(W50)大约为0．16gH20／gDW。在脱水过程中，胚轴的电解质渗漏速率逐渐增加，超氧物歧化酶(SOD)、抗坏血酸过氧化物酶(APX)、过氧化氢酶(CAT)、谷胱苷肽还原酶(GR)和脱氢抗坏血酸还原酶(DHAR)的活性下降，硫代巴比妥酸(TBA)-活性产物的含量增加。2．5～10．0mmol／L抗坏血酸处理能有效地增加胚轴的脱水耐性和SOD、APX、CAT和GR的活性，降低电解质渗漏速率和TBA活性产物的含量。结果表明，***胚轴的脱水耐性与抗氧化酶的活性增加和脂质过氧化作用的隆低密切相关．
