The triangulation of red sprites was obtained, based on concurrent observations over a mesoscale convective system(MCS) in North China from two stations separated by about 450 km. In addition, broadband sferics from the sprite-producing lightning were measured at five ground stations, making it possible to locate and identify the individual causative lightning discharges for different elements in this dancing sprite event. The results of our analyses indicate that the sprites were produced above the trailing stratiform region of the MCS, and their parent strokes were located mainly in the peripheral area of the stratiform. The lateral offset between sprites and causative strokes ranges from a few km to more than 50 km. In a particularly bright sprite, with a distinct halo feature and streamers descending down to an altitude of approximately 48 km, the sprite current signal identified in the electric sferic, measured at a range of about 1,110 km, peaked at approximately 1 ms after the return stroke.

The present paper reports two [new formulas for calculating triangulation number T.They are T =L2/l2 and T = 1.45r2/l2, where L is the distance between pentons, l the distancebetween any two adjacent capsomeres, r the radius of viral nucleocapsid. The formulas havebeen verified and applied. It is worth noticing that the triangulation number, viral size anddistance between capsomeres are fully connected by the formula r/（Tl）1/2 = 0. 83, and the capsidparameters of all icosahedral viruses are unified in one constant, 0.83.

A real-time two-dimensional （2D） triangulation range finder is presented, which is composed of two linear complementary metal oxidation semiconductor （CMOS） chips, two camera lenses, and four light emitting diodes （LEDs）. The high order distortion in image aberrations is the main factor responsible for the coarse errors. The theoretical prediction is in good agreement with experiments and the correction equation is used to obtain more reliable results with the unique distortion coefficient in tile whole working region.

The piecewise algebraic curve is a kind generalization of the classical algebraic curve. Nther-type theorem of piecewise algebraic curves on the cross-cut partition is very important to construct the Lagrange interpolation sets for a bivariate spline space.In this paper,using the properties of bivariate splines,the Nther-type theorem of piecewise algebraic curves on the arbitrary triangulation is presented.

This paper presents a novel algorithm for generating a highly regular triangle mesh under various user requirements. Three scalar fields are first computed on the input mesh. Then, the intersections of their isocontours with one another are used to construct the highly regular mesh result. The proposed algorithm uses the N-symmetry direction field to guide the edge orientation. Size control is achieved by using a density function on the surface. All user requirements are incorporated into an energy optimization framework of the scalar fields, and then the isocontours of the generated scalar fields are used to construct a high quality result that satisfies all requirements. The experimental results show that the proposed method can successfully handle various user requirements and complex shapes.

Objective To identify the representative attributes of the five elements of a person with a qualitative methodology and provide the basis for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of“people with the five elements in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).”Methods Data collected from the literature review,two sessions of brainstorming of experts with related experience in“people with the five elements in TCM”from October 2020 to December 2020,and six rounds of in-depth interviews with 30 participants who had various attributes of the five elements from March 2021 to October 2021 were analyzed.triangulation was used in this study,and theming and synthesizing were used to analyze the data.Results A total of 31 experts and 30 interviewees participated in this study.The median age of the experts and interviewees were 48.0 and 38.5 years,respectively;51.66%and 54.8%of experts and interviewees,respectively,were men.The descriptors of facial diagrams of“people with the five elements in TCM”were complexion,shape,distribution state of facial bones,convergence trend of facial muscles,and facial expression.A theoretical model of“people with the five elements in TCM”was shaped based on these findings.Conclusion The study suggests a possibility for bridging the gap between personality and bodily state,identifying an avenue for personality research from the perspective of TCM.

Study on Flow Field Simulation at Transmission Towers in Loess Hilly Regions Based on Circular Boundary Constraints

When using high-voltage transmission lines for energy transmission in loess hilly regions,local extreme wind fields such as turbulence and high-speed cyclones occur from time to time,which can cause many kinds of mechanical and electrical failures,seriously affecting the reliable and stable energy transmission of the power grid.The existing research focuses on the wind field simulation of ideal micro-terrain and actual terrain with mostly single microterrain characteristics.Model boundary constraints and the influence of constrained boundaries are the main problems that need to be solved to accurately model and simulate complex flow fields.In this paper,a flow field simulation method based on circular boundary constraints is carried out.During the study,the influence of the model boundary and the selection conditions of themodeling range are systematically analyzed.It is more suitable to make sure that the air domain is 4 times higher than the height of the hill undulations,in addition to ensuring that there should be a minimum of 400 m between the study region and the boundary.Then,an actual terrain model of a power grid line in Shanxi is established,through the method proposed in this paper,the wind speed at the location of the transmission tower line under different wind directions is analyzed,and it is found that when the incidence direction is 45 degrees north by east the wind speed is the highest.The findings demonstrate that the circular boundary model has the advantage of more easily adjusting the wind incidence direction,in addition to theoretically reducing the errors caused by traditional models in boundary processing.It can accurately obtain the distribution characteristics of the flow field affected by the terrain,and quickly screen out the extreme working conditions that are most harmful to the transmission lines in the actual transmission line for energy transmission in complex loess hilly regions.
