Genetic characterization of far eastern species of the genus <i>Crepidostomum</i>(trematoda: Allocreadiidae) by means of 28S ribosomal DNA sequences

Genetic divergence and phylogenetic relationships of four species of the genus Crepidostomum Braun, 1900 sensu Caira, Bogea (2005) were revealed using partial sequences of 28S ribosomal RNA gene. Genetic divergence between C. cf. farionis (Muller, 1784) and C. nemachilus Krotov, 1959 was 3.1%, which corresponds to the mean value of interspecific divergence between Crepidostomum species. These two species, therefore, can be recognized as bonafide species. However, we found no genetic differences between 28S rRNA gene sequences of C. nemachilus and C. cf. metoecus Braun,1900 inspite of considerable morphological and ecological differences. Maximal values of genetic p-distances were revealed between C. cf. auriculatum Wedl, 1857 and C. cf. farionis. Phylogenetic relationships of Crepidostomum spp. for which sequence data are available, along with species in other related genera (Bunodera Railliet, 1896 and Allocreadium Loss, 1900) showed a paraphyly of the genus Crepidostomum. Considerable differentiation of C. cf. auriculatum from other Crepidostomum species was revealed, which may reflect the original description of this species in a separate genus Acrolichanus Ward, 1917. Our results are consistent with the conventional systematics that places the four genera (Crepidostomum, Bunodera, Megalogonia and Allocreadium) within the same family.

一、引言前后盘吸虫亚目〔Paramphistomata(Szidat,1936)Skrjabin et Schulz,1937〕的分类研究,始于1801年Rudolphi所建立的双口吸虫属(Ampkistoma)。历年来经过Diesing(1835),Creplin(1839),Poirier(1882),Leiper(1908),Travassos(1901)等学者先后不断的新种发现,和Fischoeder(1901),Stiles et Goldberger(1910),Meplestome(1923),Stunkard(1917),Fukui(1929),Travassos(1934),Southwell et Kirshner(1937),Nasmark(1937),Skrjabin et Schulz(1937)等分类研究,种类日益增多,分类系统日趋完善。根据苏联蠕虫学者斯克里亚平院士(Skrjabin,1949)编著动物和人体吸虫第三卷所记载,前后盘吸虫亚目共有10科

An overview of cercariae from the Egyptian inland water snails

The study on trematode larvae found in Egyptian molluscs was initiated by the pioneering work of Sonsino in 1892 and Looss in 1896. Since then tens of cercariae and some digenean life cycles have been reported in the country. Unfortunately, only fragmentary publications are available for identification of cercariae present in the country. In addition, some of such publications may not be accessible to some researchers, as they are either theses or published in old volumes of non-international journals. The present work was carried out with the aim of preserving our heritage through reviewing the different types of cercariae known from the Egyptian inland water snails. We provide a survey based on literature. Major types of cercariae known to exist in the country are covered. They are presented as regards description, development, taxa, importance and snail hosts. This review can be used as a field guide for identification of cercariae colonising the Egyptian inland water snails.

Schistosomal Colorectal Cancer: Biomarkers and Treatment Strategies

About 15.4%of human cancers worldwide have been attributed to *** these,blood and liver flukes,notably Schistosoma sp,Clonorchis Sinesis,and Opisthorchis Viverrini have been associated with the development of various cancer *** *** colorectal cancer(CRC)progression through multiple mechanisms including production of toxins,symbiotic action with bacterial agents,and more importantly chronic *** of schistosomal colorectal cancer(SCC)requires high index of clinical suspicion in endemic *** biomarkers may aid early diagnosis of SCC in patients with chronic intestinal *** should be tailored to individual patients according to the stage and biologic characteristics of the tumour,and the extent of hepatosplenic ***-term survival after surgical resection of SCC is lower than that reported in patients with sporadic CRC.
