This article models a novel driving-day-based tradable credit scheme (DD-TCS) to alleviate urban traffic congestion. In this model, car-using allowances (in terms of the number of days in a month, termed as "credit") are freely and uniformly allocated to all travellers, who are also allowed to trade them in a market according to his/her travel needs (e.g. driving more or fewer days than the free endowment). As opposed to most studies on TCS, this paper explicitly considers the transaction cost (e.g. infor-mation cost of finding potential traders) in the trading market. To assess the feasibility of DD-TCS, we compare it against the license plate rationing (LPR) scheme, which has been practically implemented in many cities such as Beijing and Chengdu in China. Taking the performance of LPR as a benchmark, we quantify the threshold values of the transaction cost in DD-TCS when the two schemes yield equivalent performance (in terms of the total gener-alized cost). In numerical studies, we also compare the DD-TCS and LPR with the no-action case and the congestion pricing case (representing the theoretical optimum). Results show that both DD-TCS and LPR outperform the no-action case under certain conditions. With small trans-action cost, DD-TCS may achieve a lower system cost that can be very close to the ideal optimum. In addition, parameter analysis shows that DD-TCS performs better than LPR in a wide range of transaction cost, where the threshold values appear to account for a considerable portion of the auto travel time. This implies that DD-TCS will be more appealing than LPR in practice because a transaction cost lower than the extremely large threshold values can be easily achieved for the trading market, e.g. via a mobile platform and modern communication techniques.

In this paper we present a method which can transform a variational inequality with gradient constraints into a usual two obstacles problem in one dimensional case.The prototype of the problem is a parabolic variational inequality with the constraints of two first order differential inequalities arising from a two-dimensional model of European call option pricing with transaction costs.We obtain the monotonicity and smoothness of two free boundaries.

Service grids possess the features of intelligence and automation to compose heterogeneous resources and will be a commercial focus in network economy pattern. However, service grid business is loosely-coupled, distributed and long-running, so there is a real challenge for the researchers to provide consistency and reliability for service grid business. This paper references the transaction management methods in Web service and the safepoint concept in workflow system, combines with the feature of the service grid, and then presents a transaction management model based on service grid. This paper seeks to position the third-party transaction(TPT)in the macrostructure of Chinese market in terms of Concentration Ratio and Herfindahl-Hirschman Index.By extending both Cournot oligopolistic and Stackelberg oligopolistic competition models,a new oligopolistic competition model is established for China’s TPT market.Based on multidimensional game,a pricing game model is theorized accordingly to elucidate the TPT platform.The influence of various factors on the price of the TPT platform is verified with numerical simulation.The formation of monopoly is an inevitable consequence of the"one superpower and multi powers"market structure given the unregulated development of TPT enterprises as the prerequisite.In addition,through the studies on telecom payment market,such unregulated development can also cause the"big-three"domination for the TPT enterprises in the"multi powers"market structure.Based on our modelizations,this paper serves to provide prospect recommendations for policy-making of state supervision authorities.

There is growing concern that farmland transfers lead to less agricultural investment, which may adversely affect agricultural productivity growth in China.Prior research has primarily focused on the differences between owned cultivated land and rented plots,but little is known about how farmland transfers between relatives,which are popular in rural China,specifically affect agricultural investment.In this paper,we present a conceptual framework of transaction cost economics to compare different contracting strategies in China's farmland rental markets.As farmland rental markets in China are immature,land transfer between relatives establishes bilateral governance,which has the advantage of addressing the opportunistic activities of both parties and can ultimately increase investment by tenants.Based on data from two waves of household surveys,we empirically examine the impact of bilateral governance on the application of organic fertilizer,an indicator for agricultural investment.Our findings show that apart from economic factors, kinship is important to the functioning of farmland rental markets in rural areas.

We propose the concepts of normalized market and average hedging strategies, and discuss the attainability of the portfolio optimization under transaction costs and multiple stocks, by the extended forms of the martingale approach and the duality methods. Incidentally, we give an upper bound of the expectation of the portfolio at terminal investing time.

Blockchain technology is a shared database of logs of all consumer transactions which are registered on all machines on a network.Both transactions in the system are carried out by consensus processes and to preserve confidentiality all thefiles contained cannot be changed.Blockchain technology is the fundamental software behind digital currencies like Bitcoin,which is common in the marketplace.Cloud computing is a method of using a network of external machines to store,monitor,and process information,rather than using the local computer or a local personal computer.The software is currently facing multiple problems including lack of data protection,data instability,and reliability.This paper aims to give the highest security for multiple user environments in cloud for storing and accessing the data in blocks.The users who are legitimate are only allowed for storing and accessing the data as like a secured block chain approach.As like the Blockchain which does not require a centralized system for transactions,the proposed system is also independent on centralized network interface.The decentralized system is developed in such a way to avoid counterfeiting.The system enables the fabricator to spend less or null resources to perform the validations for its direct operated stores.This ensures the product fabricator to avoid the circulation of its duplicate products.The customer as an end-user is also ensured to have only the genuine products from the fabricator.The Fabricator(F),Merchant(M)and consumer(C)forms an interconnected triangular structure without allowing any counterfeiting agents in their secured cloud chain.The pro-posed approach provides the stability in the security system of the cloud using the chaining mechanism within different blocks at each node.It takes roughly 4.7,6.2,and 7.5 ms,respectively,to register each node in the proposed system for 5,10,and 15 nodes.The overall registration time for each scenario is 11.9,26.2,and 53.1 ms,despite the fact that each node’s registration time was greatest fo

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of companies’size on e-commerce transaction requirements,by examining both companies’components and companies’partners and their relation with company’s size.The paper is based on the analysis of 70 Algerian import companies through survey methodology.The findings indicate that large-sized companies respond strongly to all e-commerce transaction requirements,especially in the three companies’components;medium-and small-sized companies response to these requirements is less than large-sized companies.As a conclusion,companies’size often reacts to the e-commerce transaction requirements.

We present a parallel algorithm that computes the ask and bid prices of an American option when proportional transaction costs apply to trading in the underlying asset. The algorithm computes the prices on recombining binomial trees, and is designed for modern multi-core processors. Although parallel option pricing has been well studied, none of the existing approaches takes transaction costs into consideration. The algorithm that we propose partitions a binomial tree into blocks. In any round of computation a block is further partitioned into regions which are assigned to distinct processors. To minimise load imbalance the assignment of nodes to processors is dynamically adjusted before each new round starts. Synchronisation is required both within a round and between two successive rounds. The parallel speedup of the algorithm is proportional to the number of processors used. The parallel algorithm was implemented in C/C++ via POSIX Threads, and was tested on a machine with 8 processors. In the pricing of an American put option, the parallel speedup against an efficient sequential implementation was 5.26 using 8 processors and 1500 time steps, achieving a parallel efficiency of 65.75%.
