Paul Groussac’s Void:The French Writer and the Argentine Tradition

The French-Argentine Paul Groussac embodied a wide range of writerly functions and cultural-political positions within the Argentine cultural field between the 1880s and the 1920s:writer,playwright,chronicler,traveler,literary,art,and music critic,historian,educator,editor,and director of the National Library during 44 years.This essay considers his place in the history of Argentine literature looking at two of the many ways in which he inscribed himself in it The first takes up the production and reproduction of the ontological privilege of French identity as a form of legitimization for his public-and often polemic-interventions,through which he sought to establish scholarly-disciplinary practices,protocols,and conventions that would articulate an entire critical field around his own authority.The second proposes to think his alternatively weak and strong inscriptions in the literary Tradition through his own narrative production:his fiction and dramaturgy,travelogues,and biographical sketches.In other words,this essay situates Groussac in an Argentine literary Tradition(conceived as an organic and institutionally sanctioned textual corpus)he believed to have founded and established,a selfrepresentation that led Borges to say that Groussac saw himself as“a missionary of Voltaire among the mulattage.”

Although there is no concept of Human Rights or Rights in the Confucian Tradition,Western culture has a different understanding of people's due status and interests.This understanding includes the emphasis on and respect for human beings,and the factors that are compatible with human rights theory and can promote its development.The Confucian concept of humans emphasizes every individual as an individual in the community,obligations,and consideration of others.Its main contents are as follows:benevolence as the core;for individuals in the community,the ideal personality of a gentleman,namely,benevolence,independence and self-improvement;in the aspect of vertical interpersonal relationship,the advocation of people-oriented and good governance(e.g.,nurturing the people,educating the poor and helping the weak);in the aspect of horizontal interpersonal relations,the advocation of people as compatriots;and the respect of heaven and earth and the love for all things in relation of human and nature.These contents are of great significance to the construction of human rights in China and the world.

As one of the most significant critical essays of T.S.Eliot,Tradition and Individual Talent has defined writing as a process during which the primitive oneness has seized the individual writer of figurative descriptions to help represent itself.This theory has latter been practiced in Eliot’s Wasteland,and shows its similarity with The Birth of Tragedy,written by Friedrick Nietzsche,the German philosopher.Eliot’s‘Tradition’has been concluded by Nietzsche as‘Dionysian Spirit’,which represents oneness transcending good and evil,past and present,while‘individual talent’has resembled‘Apollonian Spirit’in the urge for original figuration as an apparatus.The paper aims to explain and compare the definitions of‘Tradition’and‘individual talent’of Eliot’s work with that of‘Dionysian spirit’and‘Apollonian Spirit’in Nietzsche’s illustrations,so as to provide a deeper understanding of these two works by unveiling the individual and social sameness and difference of Eliot and Nietzsche.

在传统-现代对话与碰撞中,遗传资源领域已成为当下各国,尤其是发达国家与发展中国家的知识产权战略所不容忽视的新制高点。同时,生态文明的演进使生物多样性及遗传资源保护的重要性彰显,也使遗传资源重要构成的传统知识日益受到关注。自然,传统知识作为一种特殊的知识产品,如何获得知识产权保护就不容回避。从表面看,"传统知识的可知识产权性"问题反映的是传统知识可否纳入现行知识产权体系加以保护的问题。但从深层意义而言,该命题凸显实际彰显的是——当今社会对"知识产权制度及其战略"的"可持续性"深层内涵需求。具体可否为"产业发展、人权保障、文化多样性"三个层面。这也是当今社会对"知识产权制度的可持续功能"、"知识产权战略的可持续力"的深层评估与考验。

对英语同义词进行辨析是英语学习的一大难点,而语料库是近义词学习和辨析的有效工具。利用语料库对近义词进行多方面的比较,给英语学习者一个真实、直观、简便的方法,使其能在学习上突破近义词混淆的障碍。该文使用语料库方法,对Tradition和convention两个词从搭配和语义韵两个方面进行了定性和定量的分析。从此研究结论得出,Tradition与文化相关的词语搭配,而convention与政治相关的词语搭配,但是它们都是中性语义韵。基于语料库的研究对英语教学和学习都有帮助。
