Suppression of thrust fluctuation of doubly-fed linear motor

Because the mover and stator of a doubly-fed linear motor are both equipped with three-phase windings, the motor enables contactless energy to be transferred from the stator to the mover. Thus, when a doubly-fed linear motor is used in the linear driving system of trains, neither an overhead line nor a third rail is needed. However, the doubly- fed motor will lead to more severe thrust fluctuation than the unilateral motors. In order to overcome this shortcoming, the thrust fluctuation of the doubly-fed motor should be analyzed. In this paper, an expression for motor thrust is derived. It points out that the slot effect caused by the slotted structure is the main reason for the increase of thrust fluctuation. The method of adopting unequal pole pitch and unequal slot numbers per pole per phase of stator and mover, is proposed to weaken the slot effect when designing the motor slot parameters. Three different motor models are simulated by ANSOFT. The proposed method results in a motor thrust fluctuation coefficient of 8.4%, compared to 49.4% for the conventional method. Therefore, the motor＇s thrust fluctuation is effectively suppressed by the proposed method.

Research on Cogging Force Suppression for Toroidal PMLSM Based on Disturbance Observer

For a new type of toroidal permanent magnet linear motor(TPMLSM), this paper analyzes the thrust fluctuation in the constant acceleration operation of the motor from the Angle of the cogging force of the linear motor. For the motor whose structure has been determined and processed, the structural parameters of the motor cannot be changed, and its performance cannot be improved from the perspective of the motor ***, this paper tries to consider the influence of the cogging force on the normal operation of the motor from the perspective of control. In this paper, starting from the body structure of motor, first on the annular linear motor of the cogging force characteristics were extracted, and its expression is obtained by Fourier decomposition, then investigated considering the cogging force and does not consider the cogging force control of motor model, it can be seen that the control performance deteriorates significantly after considering cogging force of the motor, and the acceleration fluctuation increases significantly during the operation of the motor. On this basis, disturbance observation algorithm is introduced, and feedforward compensation is carried out by extracting the characteristic values of the disturbance model. The results show that the disturbance observer can suppress the thrust fluctuation caused by the motor cogging force to a large extent, and it can reduce the peak-to-peak value of the thrust fluctuation by more than 85% during the motor acceleration operation.

The requirement of low radiated noise is increasing for underwater propulsors as the noise significantly affecting the comfort and quietness of ships,submarines,and *** broaden the view of noise characteristics of pump-jet propulsors(PJPs),this paper considers the radiated noise of a pre-swirl stator PJP with the effects of the advance coefficient and rotor rotational *** noise is obtained by the“hybrid method”approach,which combines a hydrodynamic solver with a hydroacoustic *** turbulence flow is obtained through improved delayed detached eddy simulation(IDDES),which show good agreement with the experiment,including the performance and flow *** solver precision,permeable surface size,and sampling frequency notably affect the noise *** spectra of thrust fluctuation and radiated noise are characterized by the tonal phenomenon around the blade passing frequency and its *** spectrum of radiated noise and overall sound pressure level(OSPL)are considerably affected by both the advance coefficient and the rotor rotational ***,the numerical results and analysis given in this paper should be partly helpful in deepening the understanding of the radiated noise characteristics of PJPs.
