A newly designed quinazoline based compound, 6-pyridin-2-yl-5,6-dihydro-benzo[4,5]imidazo[1,2-c] quinazoline (PDBIQ) has shown the ability for the easy detection of nineteen amino acids on thin-layer chromatography plates as a spray reagent. This new reagent enabled to produce various distinguishable colors with amino acids with different RF values. The detection limits and the binding ability of PDBIQ with amino acids have been calculated. PDBIQ is also able to detect aminoacids from hydrolised seed protein. The title compound also exhibited profound inhibitory action against some gm (+ve) and gm (-ve) bacterial organisms. This paper deals with synthesis, spectroscopic application and biological evaluation of the organic moity.

ABSTRACT A quantitative method for the assay of free cholesterol has been described in this paper. The experimental conditions for the determination of cholesterol in serum by thin-layer chromatography were disscused. The solvent System was petroleum ether-ethyl acetate-glacial acetic acid (8o:20:1) and the spra-ying reagent was a solution of sulphuric acid and vanillin. Under the selected con-ditions, the peak area was linearly related to the cholesterol amount for the range between 80～700 ng per spot. The intraplate and interplate coefficients were 2.4% and 7.4% respectively. The recovery of cholesterol was 101.6%. The method presented was simple, rapid and accurate. The results of experi-mental investigation and clinical application were satisfactory.

[Objectives]To establish a thin-layer chromatography(TLC)method for the determination of rubiadin-1-methyl ether in Yao Medicine Chuanlianzhu(Damnacanthus giganteus).[Methods]A silica gel G thin-layer plate was adopted for *** ether(60-90℃)-chloroform-methanol-water(7:15:3:1)was used as the developing solvent and inspected under ultraviolet lamp(365 nm).The content was determined by Inertsil ODS-3 C 18 column(4.60 mm×250 mm,5μm),mobile phase:acetonitrile-0.2%phosphoric acid gradient elution,detection wavelength 277 nm,flow rate 1.0 mL/min,column temperature 30℃,injection volume 10μL.[Results]The spots of 10 Chuanlianzhu samples from different origins showed the same color at the same position as the control,and the spots were clear and *** injection volume of rubiadin-1-methyl ether showed a good linear relationship in the range of 2.90-145μg(R=0.9996).The average recovery rate of rubiadin-1-methyl ether in the low,medium and high dose groups of Yao Medicine Chuanlianzhu was 98.72%,and RSD=1.78%.[Conclusions]This method can effectively identify Yao Medicine Chuanlianzhu medicinal materials and accurately determine the content of rubiadin-1-methyl ether in the medicinal *** provides a scientific basis for the development and utilization of Yao Medicine Chuanlianzhu medicinal resources.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the vasodilatory effect of Chenopodium ambrosioides on the isolated rat aorta, and to explore its mechanism of ***: The vasorelaxant effect and the mode of action of various extracts from the leaves of C. ambrosioides were evaluated on thoracic aortic rings isolated from Wistar rats. In addition, ethyl acetate and methanol fractions were analyzed, using thin-layer chromatography and high-performance liquid chromatography techniques, for their polyphenolic ***: The various active extracts of C. ambrosioides at four concentrations(10^(-3), 10^(-2), 10^(-1) and 1 mg/mL) relaxed the contraction elicited by phenylephrine, in a concentration-dependent *** effect seems to be endothelium-dependent, since the vasodilatory effect was entirely absent in denuded aortic rings. The vasorelaxant effect of the methanol fraction(MF) of C. ambrosioides at 1 mg/mL was also inhibited by atropine and tetraethylammonium. This effect remained unchanged by Nx-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester hydrochloride and glibenclamide. The preliminary phytochemical analysis showed that the leaves of C. ambrosioides are rich in phenolic and flavonoid ***: These results suggest that the MF of C. ambrosioides produces an endothelium-dependent relaxation of the isolated rat aorta, which is thought to be mediated mainly through stimulation of the muscarinic receptors, and probably involving the opening of Ca^(2+)-activated potassium channels.

Objective:To examine the effect of Rumex crispus(***)and Rumex sanguineus(***)plant extracts against isolates of Acinetobacter baumannii(***)from wounds,including multidrug-resistant ***:Six prepared Rumex extracts were subjected to liquid chromatography-tandem mass *** activity of extracts and pure compounds(catechin,quercetin,isoquercitrin,emodin,and gallic acid)was examined by a microtiter plate method,while for determination of compound binary combinations activity a checkerboard method was *** fractions of extracts were detected by agar-overlay high-performance thinlayer chromatography-bioautography assay followed by liquid chromatography-diode array detection-mass spectrometry ***:A total of 28 compounds were detected in two extracts of *** and 26 compounds in four different *** extracts,with catechin as a dominant *** activity was confirmed for all six *** and *** extracts at the concentration range from 1 to 4 mg/*** examined single compounds nor their binary combinations exhibited an *** activity(MIC>256μg/mL).The bioautography showed that fractions with the most prominent *** activity tended to contain more polar compounds,predominantly flavonol(quercetin and kaempherol)glycosides;but also fractions containing flavanone(eriodictyol)glycosides and anthraquinone(emodin)glycosides;and less polar eriodictyol ***:The results justify and elucidate the traditional application of *** and *** extracts for wound healing,indicating the necessity for their further examination in combat against multidrug-resistant *** isolates from wounds.

This research studied the processing performance and product quality of Thompson seedless grapes dried using microwave-assisted convective hot air drying as well as the effect of blanching and dipping *** pretreatment methods were compared,dipping into 2%ethyl oleate(V/V)and 5%potassium carbonate solution(m/V)at 40℃for 3 minutes and steam blanching at 90℃for 140 s,to accelerate drying rate and inactivate PPO aiming to improve drying rate and product *** grapes were dried in a microwave-assisted convective dryer at 0.25 W/g specific power and 60℃air *** this study dielectric and physical properties of grapes were calculated using descriptive equations for fruits and ***-theoretical models were used to describe the drying curves of both pretreated and untreated *** and near surface temperature profile of grapes was obtained using fiber optic *** center temperature was modeled using one dimensional heat equation and was simulated using Partial Differential Equation toolbox of *** results showed that the maximum difference between experimental and predicted values were 4℃which occurred at the initial heating up *** has been observed that dipping into solution had no effect on drying rate whereas steam blanching significantly reduced the drying time and produced product with desirable color.

[Objectives]Pharmacognosy identification was performed on Xiaohuangcao ( Dendrobium loddigesi Rolfe).[Methods]The medicinal materials were identified through original plants,characters,microscopic structure and thin-layer identification characteristics.[Results]*** has obvious plant morphology,characters,microscopic structure and thin-layer identification *** stem of Xiaohuangcao is slender and cylindrical,and the surface is golden yellow;and the fiber bundles outside the vascular bundles are crescent-shaped or semi-circular in the stem *** the powder,crystal fiber can be observed;the vascular bundles are embedded with siliceous block cells;and there are more starch *** the thin layer chromatography,petroleum ether-ethyl acetate-butanone-glacial acetic acid (8.5∶ 3.5∶ 1.5∶ 5 d) was used as a developing solvent,and 10% sulfuric acid ethanol solution was used as a color developing agent.[Conclusions]The research results provide reference for the application of the medicinal material and the formulation of its related quality standards.

Preliminary Study on Quality Standard of Pummelo Pericarp from Guangxi

[Objectives]This paper aimed to study the quality standard of pummelo pericarp from Guangxi.[Methods]The medicinal material was identified by microscopy and thin-layer chromatography,and the contents of moisture,total ash,acid-insoluble ash and extract in the medicinal material were determined according to the methods of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia(2010 edition).[Results]The content limits for moisture,total ash,acid-insoluble ash and extract were determined(moisture≤12%;total ash≤6.0%;acid-insoluble ash≤0.6%;water-soluble extract≥43.0%;naringin≥10.00 mg/g).The micro-characteristics of pummelo pericarp were identified,and a thin-layer chromatography identification and content determination method was established.[Conclusions]The established method can provide an experimental basis for the formulation of quality standard for pummelo pericarp.
