The paper probes into a probable condition that causes temper mill chatter from aspect of electromechanical coupling of complex electromechanical system, and mainly studies the effect of temper mill electrical driving system harmonic current on the main motion of temper mill set. Aiming at the electrical driving system of CM04 temper mill, the effect of harmonic current is analyzed and evaluated according to different load. Combining the features of CM04 temper mill′s structure and its working state, the paper discusses in every detail how the harmonic current in main circuit, which can be regarded as a disturbance via feedback control circuit , influences main motion of temper mill set.

The HAZ microstructure and performance of Quenching and tempering mode temper bead welding and general welded joints which were made on SA508-3 steel of 60 mm thickness were compared in this article. The result shows that tempering sorbite which has excellent overall performance was obtained in both modes. The microstructure of Quenching and tempering mode welded joints got more fine grain. Even though the hardness of tempering bead welded joints is higher than the general one,it still meets the standards which is lower than 350 HV. The impact absorbing energy of each district of tempering bead welded joints HAZ reached 170 J,which is equal to general one.

In this paper, a novel arrangement for magnetic Barkhausen noise detection is introduced. Measurements have been performed using two low carbon steel plates of 1 mm thickness. The measurements were conducted along the rolling and the transverse directions. The new arrangement includes a displacement of the detection coil in predetermined steps in while the magnetizing yoke is kept stationary introducing a cyclic magnetization in the rolling direction and transverse to it. In general, the intensity of the Barkhausen signals decreased as a function of coil displacement in both plates. In the temper rolled plate, Barkhausen noise profile shape changed from a single peak to a double peak one when coil has been displaced by 5 mm away in both magnetizing directions. Peaks are more apparent while magnetizing in the transverse direction. The appearance of two peaks profile in the temper rolled plate may be attributed to two stages of magnetization taking place at different times as a function of the applied field. Magnetization in the transverse direction results in a partition of the internal magnetizations into two main components perpendicular to each other. The internal components of magnetization involve the magnetic easy axes in the rolling direction and the forced magnetization in the transverse direction due to the applied field. Another assumption to interpret the findings may be due to the internal demagnetization field in the soft material below surface. The findings support this assumption in such a way that the demagnetizing field is strong enough in the transverse direction than in the rolling direction. This assumption is supported by the experiment on cold rolled plate. In the cold rolled plate, the resultant MBN profiles are composed of one peak throughout the test due to high dislocation density and hence a very weak demagnetizing field.

Roller ends forced-contact and overmuch roll consumption are the widespread problems in temper rolling process of thin strip for two-stand UCM temper mill. Fully thinking the equipment and technology characteristics of UCM temper mill, we took the newly-built 1220 UCM temper mill of Baosteel as the research object in this paper. A model of roller ends forced-contact and a calculation model of flatness for UCM temper mill are established after a great deal of site tracing and theoretical researches. On this basis, an optimal mathematical model of roll shape which is suited for UCM temper mill is developed. Working roll curve is the combination of cosine curve and high order curve. The cosine subentry is used to control edge wave, the high order curve subentry is used to control roller ends forced-contact. Furthermore, the chamfering curve of middle roller end is optimized. Those are the innovations. Through the above-mentioned technology, pressure distribution between rollers caused by the shift of middle roll becomes more homogeneous, pressure peak disappeared, working life of roll is improved effectively as well. Relevant technologies have been used to the practice of 1220 UCM temper mill of Baosteel and have achieved good use effects, which is of further extending application value [1].

The 150mm 610MPa grade ultra-heavy plates was successfully exploited with 320mm casting slab,and the microstructure and mechanical properties was studied under different tempered *** plasticity and toughness are improved obviously in the 1/4 and 1/2 of 150mm ultra-heavy plates by controlling the amount and distributing pattern of ferrite,and the produced plates are successfully used in the construction of hydropower station of Murum in Malaysia.

The effect of gamma-radlatlon on plain crystalline polymers and crystalline polymers containing different amounts of difunctional monomer both in vacuum and in air at room temperature has been investigated with DSC. It was found that the crystallization temperature T_c of crosslinked sample measured on DSC at a constant cooling rate decreases with increasing radiation dose. The difference between T_c before and after crosslinking (T_(c_0)-T_(c_R)) is linearly related to the radiation dose for plain polymer. Based on the Charlesby-Pinner equation, an expression has been derived:where S is the sol fraction, A and B are constants. Since there is evidence that T_c is relative to S or crosslinking desity only and independent of the radiation crosslinking, the equation is also applicable to the enhanced gamma-radiation crosslinking of the polymer and can be used to evaluate the instantaneous G(c.1.)_R value of nonrandom crosslinking system. Therefore, determination of T_c with DSC offers a convenient approach to the quantitative study of the random and especially nonrandom crosslinking reaction of crystalline polymer.

In this paper, the kinetics and creeping behavior in the tempering of were experimentally investigated in detail with two kinds of large-forging steel. The martensitic and bainitic transformations were expressed as functions of the tempering parameter. The kinetics of phase transformation of the retained austenite was described by the Avrami equation. Based on the elastoplastic-creeping theory, the constitutive relations for steel tempering process were obtained, and an FEM code was developed. The program was verified with the tempering process of a cylindrical specimen, and the quenching-tempering process of a turbine rotator was analyzed.
