Modeling and Analysis of Interstand Tension Control in 6-high tandem cold rolling mill

The interstand tension control is one of the most important ways to meet tight tolerances for strip product quality during tandem cold rolling process. Using coordinate analysis and parabolic approximation for the mass flow balance principle, the strip velocities eliminating the use of forward slips and backward slips were calculated. In order to reduce the effect of roll eccentricity on the tension measurement, a filter based on bilinear transformation was de- signed. Applying a first-order Taylor series approximation, the transfer function matrix model of interstand tension stress was derived. The actual measurements on-site and the final calculation results showed that the established model had high calculation accuracy and was beneficial for interstand tension control of random cold rolling process.

＜正＞The high-speed tandem cold rolling mill is the typical complicated electromechanical system. Since the request to the quality of cold rolling sheet strips is higher and higher, the control system of the tandem cold rolling mill becomes more and more precise and intellective. And the feedforward control system of the hydraulic AGC is its important constituent part for eliminating the thickness deviation of the product. The traditional feedforward AGC only compensates the strip’s entry thickness deviation, but this article adds the compensation of the tension vibration to eliminate the thickness deviation because of the tension vibration. Because of the variable velocity of the strip, the fixed-step delay of the traditional strategy is not very precise, so a new method of the dynamic time delay is provided in this article, which tracks the strip more precisely using the dynamic array. When measuring the thickness of the strip using the thickness gauge, the average thickness measurement of the strip segment is used instead of the measurement of the single point, gaining better control effects. At the same time, the computer control strategy of the feedforward AGC is researched, and the control strategy adapting the distributed computer control system is provided. All strategies have been applied in the practical project, and favorable control results are gained, which the thickness precision of the strip product is improved.

＜正＞Aimed at the problems that both unstable tension and difficult starting-up process exist in threading-in process of 1420 tandem cold mill,mechanism model of strip tension fluctuation and LFT model of ATC with perturbation in threading-in process is built,the formula of static deviation for strip tension have been *** influence technical and controlling factors to strip tension is analyzed according to tension control system and continues rolling *** research results indicates that using P-controller to adjust tension is the reason which leads to tension fluctuation;if controller type is the same,proportion coefficient of tension controller is increased,presetting velocity of stand 1 and rolling force of every stand are decreased,then improve the stability and quality of strip tension in threading-in *** robust performance of the improved system and unimproved system is tested by means of theμ-*** frequency domain show that the improved system with has better robust performance than that of unimproved *** model has been applied in tension optimization in threading-in process of 1420 tandem cold mill,with satisfactory results.

Considering the problems caused by entrance strip shape of instability during the rolling process and quality of exit strip shape,this paper proposed a strip shape feed-forward control method based on the change of mill entrance strip shape and constructed a feed-forward deviation calculation model and a strip shape feed-forward control model for tandem cold rolling mills,the correctness of which was verified by comparing with actual *** method is applicable to the rolling mill equipped with strip shapemeter at the entrance and puts the stability of the rolling process and obtaining good exit strip shape as the control *** the base of studies on the strip shape feed-forward control strategy and execution cycle of strip shape feed-forward control,a complete automatic flatness control system was established for a 20-roller stainless steel cold rolling *** results showed that when the strip shape feed-forward control method was used,the stability and production capacity of cold rolling mill unit improved obviously,leading to further improvement in strip shape control accuracy and quality.
