The forthcoming European Higher Education Area has implied an important change in the teaching/learning process:it is necessary to get students more involved as well as to promote their independence and active ***,Information and Communication Technology is progressively including greater spaces in human beings’life,as economics,arts,engineering and education,among others ***,a web tool,based on a content management system,has been developed to teach the Power Electronics ***,the use of these multimedia tools makes it possible to encourage students’*** developed educational software is necessary as an important resource in the students’teaching/learning ***,the importance of evaluation models increases in as much as the application of these instruments allows its effective *** offers a greater guarantee of its use in these environments from the students’point of *** evaluation process,by means of several surveys for students and lecturers,is used in order to evaluate the quality of these multimedia interactive *** results demonstrate that the use of this web tool increases students’motivation significantly.

Biomechanical Analysis of the STS Movement and Impact of an Assistive Device on the Elderly and People with Displacement Difficulties

This study presents a biomechanical analysis of the performance of the STS(sit-to-stand)movement applied to elderly and people with difficulty of displacement comparing it with and without an assistive technology device.A biomechanical kinemetry method was used for the movement evaluation.A two-dimensional virtual human model was developed through segmented ergonomic video analysis and the data obtained were numerically simulated to measure the inertial forces and torques of the complete execution of the STS *** device allows a vertical elevation of 0 to 400 mm and an anterior slope of up to 25°.A prototype was used to compare the movement with and without the assistive *** a result,the torques in the lower limbs’joints and the vertical ground reaction forces were reduced by up to 60%and 23%,*** was a reduction of up to 37°in the maximum trunk flexion angle during the *** horizontal displacement of the center of mass was reduced by up to 70%.

A Comparative Analysis of CAD Management in Architectural Schools in Jordan

The paper reports on a survey study which examines architectural education trends arising from the changes in CAD management in architectural schools in *** findings reflect selected results from the views of thirteen(13)architecture faculties/schools through a nation-wide questionnaire *** survey was structured to cover both private and public universities in Jordan,represented by faculties of engineering,architecture and ***,the main findings of this study are summarized under six areas,some of which are demographic and socioeconomic factors,CAD competences amongst both staff and students,and CAD and social *** study found traditional trends in CAD teaching in connection with conventional thinking,some highlighted results were mainly concentrated in the lack of CAD improvement in curricula and teaching methodologies amongst *** majority of student respondents were females(144)(53.3%).The CAD packages found to be most highly used throughout universities were AutoCAD,3D Max,Sketch-up,and Adobe *** importance of new technologies,electronic book,and the social network aspects in enhancing CAD and 3D modeling software integration with the design studio was affirmed yet no relationship to the gender was noted.
