While agricultural green development(AGD)is highly recognized and has become a national strategy in China,it is imperative to bridge the knowledge gaps between AGD and the UN sustainable development goals(SDGs),and to evaluate the contribution of AGD to meeting the *** first aim of this study was to compare the AGD goals and indicators with those of the SDGs so as to identify their *** next aim was to examine the historical evolution of AGD indicators and analyze the gaps between the current status of various indicators and their *** factors were identified in China's transition toward *** findings reveal that the indicators of AGD align with those of the SDGs,but have greater specificity to the context in China and are more *** has been a significant increase per capita calorie and protein intakes in China,as well as a notable rise in agricultural output per unit of arable land and rural incomes from 1980 to the ***,these achievements have been accompanied by a high resource use and environmental pollution,highlighting the need for a more sustainable,environmentally responsible agriculture in China.

The COvID-19 pandemic has posed severe threats to global sustainable ***,a comprehensive quantitative assessment of the impacts of COVID-19 on sustainable development goals(SDGs)is still *** research quantified the post-COVID-19 SDG progress from 2020 to 2024 using projected GDP growth and population and machine learning models including support vector machine,random forest,and extreme gradient *** results show that the overall SDG performance declined by 7.7%in 2020 at the global scale,with 12 socioeconomic SDG performance decreasing by 3.0%-22.3%and 4 environmental SDG performance increasing by 1.6%-9.2%.By 2024,the progress of 12 SDGs will lag behind for one to eight years compared to their pre-COVID-19 trajectories,while extra time will be gained for 4 environment-related ***,the pandemic will cause more impacts on countries in emerging markets and developing economies than those on advanced economies,and the latter will recover more quickly to be closer to their pre-covID-19 trajectories by ***-COVID-19 economic recovery should emphasize in areas that can help decouple economic growth from negative environmental *** results can help government and non-state stakeholders identify critical areas for targeted policy to resume and speed up the progress to achieve SDGs by 2030.

sustainable development goals(SDGs) emphasize a holistic achievement instead of cherry-picking a ***, no assessment has quantitatively considered the evenness among all 17 goals. Here, we propose a systematic method, which first integrates both the evenness and the overall status of all goals, to distinguish the ideal development pathways from the uneven ones and then revisit the development trajectory in China from 2000 to 2015. Our results suggest that, despite the remarkable progress, a bottleneck has occurred in China since 2013 due to the stagnant developments in some SDGs. However, many far-reaching policies in China have been targeting these deficiencies since then, providing a perspective on how a country approaches sustainable development by promoting evenness among all SDGs. Our results also indicate that regions with the slowest progress are the developed provinces, owing to the persistent uneven status of all goals. Our study demonstrates the importance of adopting evenness in assessing and guiding sustainable development.

The utilization of urban underground space(UUS)offers an effective solution to urban problems but may also negatively affect urban ***,UUS development needs better concerted guidelines to coordinate various urban systems and the multiple components of the underground *** development goals(SDGs),which should be viewed as important yardsticks for UUS development,do not explicitly mention urban underground space,although many of them are affected by both the positive and negative consequences of its *** fill this gap,this review lays the foundations of relevant UUS concepts and uses exemplary cases to reveal that 11 out of 17 SDGs can be linked with UUS *** linkages also manifest that land administration,integrated planning,architectural design,and construction technology are critical dimensions for increasing the contributions of UUS to the realization of *** achieve multi-disciplinary synergies among these four critical dimensions,a collaborative approach framework based on spatial data infrastructure is ***,this work provides academics and practitioners with a holistic view of sustainable UUS development.

Understanding the interactions(synergies and trade-offs)among the sustainable development goals(SDGs)is crucial for enhancing policy coherence between different ***,spatial differences in the SDG interactions and their temporal variations at the sub-national scale are still critical gaps that need to be urgently ***,we assess the spatial and temporal variation of the SDG interactions in China based on the systematic classification framework of *** framework groups the seventeen SDGs into three categories,namely“Essential Needs”“Objectives”,and“Governance”.Spatially,we found that the SDGs in“Essential Needs”&“Objectives”and“Essential Needs”&“Governance”generally show trade-offs in the eastern provinces of *** among all three SDG categories are observed in some central and western China provinces,which implies that these regions conform to sustainable development *** addition,temporally,the synergies of the three SDG categories have shown a weakening trend in the last decade,mainly due to the regional differences in the progress of SDG7(Affordable and Clean Energy).Overall,our results identify the necessity for provinces to enhance the synergies between SDG12(Responsible Production and Consumption)and other SDGs to tackle the trade-offs between the“Essential Needs”and“Objectives”.Meanwhile,promoting the progress of SDG7 will also contribute to balanced development across provinces.

In 2015, Aotearoa New Zealand became a signatory to the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030(Sendai Framework), the Paris Climate Change Agreement(Paris Agreement), and the sustainable development goals(SDGs). Since 2017 Aotearoa New Zealand has been undergoing governance reform to realign priorities and to improve the management of natural hazards and climate change. The aim of this article is to provide a review of how Aotearoa New Zealand is taking steps to improve consistency of planning across the legislative environment, thereby implementing its commitments to the Sendai Framework, the SDGs, and the Paris Agreement. It provides an overview of the national governance arrangements, with a focus on the key legislative tools;identifies how key terms are defined nationally;and provides an overview of the governance arrangements that contribute to the country’s international obligations. The discussion describes how obligations are applied, and considers two"disruptive and proactive" action examples. Four recommended actions are provided to further implement these international aspirations:(1) take into account these international agreements during the development and implementation of all legislation;(2) build awareness, capability,and capacity within central, regional, and local governments to support implementation;(3) actively evaluate the progress of implementing initiatives designed to reduce vulnerability and strengthen resilience;and(4) ensure that more weight and value are given to indigenous planning documents.

This study aims to develop and evaluate the indicators of sustainable development goals(hereafter SDGs)for local governments in Gyeonggi Province,South Korea from the perspective of the glocal mainstreaming of SDGs and *** surveys and focus group meetings,35 SDGs indicators that are to be implemented by both the Gyeonggi Provincial government and 31 separate local governments were selected and an overall index was calculated by standardizing 27 *** the comparative analysis of the fuzzy-set,this paper revealed the four ideal types along with the arrangement of two variables,the socio-economic SDGs index(S)and the environmental SDGs index(E),which are derived from 31 local *** short,some examples of this arrangement are the Type 1(S^(*)E:“sustainable local gov.”)including Hanam City(fuzzy score,0.729);Type 2(S^(*)e:“imbalanced local gov.(I)”)including Hwaseong City(0.862);Type 3(s^(*)E:“imbalanced local gov.(II)”)including Gapyeong County(0.922);and Type 4(s^(*)e:“unsustainable local gov.”)including Pyeongtaek City(0.650).As a result,this paper suggests policy priority should be placed on the local governments of Type 4 where all three dimensions of sustainable development pose ***,it is important for Type 2 and Type 3 to enhance policy coherence for sustainability.

The sustainable development goals(SDGs)call for an integrated response,the kind that has defined Neglected Tropical Diseases(NTDs)efforts in the past *** interventions have the greatest relevance for SDG3,the health goal,where the focus on equity,and its commitment to reaching people in need of health services,wherever they may live and whatever their circumstances,is fundamentally aligned with the target of Universal Health *** interventions,however,also affect and are affected by many of the other development areas covered under the 2030 *** such as mass drug administration or the programmatic integration of NTD and WASH activities(SDG6)are driven by effective global partnerships(SDG17).Intervention against the NTDs can also have an impact on poverty(SDG1)and hunger(SDG2),can improve education(SDG4),work and economic growth(SDG8),thereby reducing inequalities(SDG10).The community-led distribution of donated medicines to more than 1 billion people reinforces women’s empowerment(SDG5),logistics infrastructure(SDG9)and non-discrimination against disability(SDG16).Interventions to curb mosquito-borne NTDs contribute to the goals of urban sustainability(SDG11)and resilience to climate change(SDG13),while the safe use of insecticides supports the goal of sustainable ecosystems(SDG15).Although indirectly,interventions to control waterand animal-related NTDs can facilitate the goals of small-scale fishing(SDG14)and sustainable hydroelectricity and biofuels(SDG7).NTDs proliferate in less developed areas in countries across the income spectrum,areas where large numbers of people have little or no access to adequate health care,clean water,sanitation,housing,education,transport and *** scoping review assesses how in this context,ending the epidemic of the NTDs can impact and improve our prospects of attaining the SDGs.

Nigeria has Africa’s biggest economy and a population of over 200 million *** faces numerous challenges as it struggles to achieve the sustainable development goals(SDGs)with flooding being the most serious with wide-reaching *** paper highlights the impact flooding has on Nigeria reaching SDGs and enumerates the specific SDGs most directly impacted.A systematic literature review provides an overview of the relationship between flooding in Nigeria and the *** highlights the main causes of Nigeria’s flooding problem are man-made and advocates spatial planning as a suitable Flood Risk Management(FRM)strategy for the Nigerian *** paper calls for collaborative action by all concerned stakeholders to address the flooding problem and to help move Nigeria closer to meeting the United Nations(UN)2030 *** importantly,the evidence presented in this paper seeks to promote action on a national scale to combat the flooding in Nigeria and help the nation work more effectively toward achieving the SDGs.
