Molecular machines have attracted extensive attention due to their fancy concept and their potential to influence the science and *** dynamic motion of encapsulated metallic clusters is a distinctive character for endohedral *** the development of molecular rotors based on metallofullerenes,the most challenging issue is how to control the motion of untouchable metallic cluster inside fullerene *** this work,we report a molecular brake hoop for the motion of metal atoms inside fullerene cage.A cycloparaphenylene of[12]CPP was employed to hoop the metallofullerene and produce two supramolecular complexes of Sc_(3)N@C_(80)⊂[12]CPP and Sc_(2)C_(2)@C_(82)⊂[12]***,the temperature-dependent ^(45)Sc nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy(NMR)was employed to detect the motion of internal Sc_(3)N and Sc_(2)C_(2) clusters.^(45)Sc NMR results reveal that the[12]CPP can slow down the rotation of internal metallic cluster through host-guest interaction,and thus the[12]CPP can be considered as a molecular brake hoop for the internal metal motion of ***,by means of this molecular brake hoop,the motion of metal atoms inside fullerene cage have expanded range of *** addition,theoretical calculations on Sc_(3)N@C_(80)⊂[12]CPP were executed to illustrate the molecular orientation as well as internal Sc_(3)N *** study would promote the research of endohedral metallofullerene as a molecular rotor.

Self-assembly of predesigned chiral molecules to form structurally diverse functional materials has been one of the most exciting recent developments in materials science and nanotechnology over the past ***,the rationally designed chiral supermolecules and their hierarchical assemblies result in superior microenvironments,in which they interact distinctly with molecularly asymmetric guests for enantiospecific *** chemistry of chiral supermolecule-based materials(CSMs)has become a lively research topic,and thus this review seeks to shed light on a range of synthetic CSMs at differing length scales developed in the past 5 years,with emphasis on the representative work from *** review includes cavity-containing chiral supermolecules,chiral polymers,and chiral crystalline materials,aiming to tackle important issues from their design,synthesis,and structure to cutting-edge ***,in turn,allows for fundamental understanding of the transfer,amplification,and functional expression of chirality from the molecular to the supramolecular to the macroscopic ***,we provide perspectives on the promises,opportunities,and key challenges for the future development of useful chiral functional materials.

Theoretical study on the supramolecular complexes formed between boron-doped het- erofullerene （C59B） and zinc porphine （ZnF）, namely C59B-ZnP and its anion species C59B-ZnP, was performed by density functional theory calculation at wB97XD/6-31G（d） level. Strong interaction between porphyrin and heterofullerene moiety was predicted for these complexes based on geometry and electronic structure analysis. Especially, pseudobonding interaction occurring between the B atom of fullerene and the N atom of porphyrin was predicted to occur in C59B-ZnP complex, but be broken in C59B-ZnP complex. Time-dependent density functional theory calculation manifests the redshift of electron absorption for ZnP upon the interaction with heterofullerene.
