Two-layer supply chain model for Cauchy-type stochastic demand under fuzzy environment

Purpose–The purpose of this paper is to deal with profit maximization problem of two-layer supply chain(SC)under fuzzy stochastic demand having finite mean and unknown *** policy is employed from the retailer to *** profit of the supplier solely depends on the order size of the ***,the loss of shortage items is related to loss of profit and goodwill *** authors develop the profit function separately for both the retailer and supplier,first,for a decentralized system and,second,joining them,the authors get a centralized system(CS)of decision making,in which one is giving more profit to both of *** problem is solved analytically first,then the authors fuzzify the model and solve by fuzzy Hausdorff distance ***/methodology/approach–The analytical models are formed for both centralized and decentralized systems under non-cooperative and cooperative environment with suitable constraints.A significant assumption on density function,namely Cauchy-type density function,is introduced for demand rate because of its wider range of the retailers’*** Hausdorff metric is incorporated within the fuzzy components of the fuzzy sets *** this method,the authors find out closure values of both centralized and decentralized policies,which is an essential part of any cooperative and non-cooperative two-layer SC ***,the authors take care of the profit values with corresponding ambiguities for both the systems ***–It is found that the centralize policy of SC could only be able to maximize the profit of both the retailers and *** analytical results are illustrated numerically along with sensitivity analysis and side by side comparative studies between Hausdorff and Euclidean distance measure are done *** limitations/implications–The main focus of attention of the proposed model is given to usefulness of Hausdorff *** other distances,Hausdor

Modeling and Analysis for supply chain Using Stochastic Process Algebra

In order to improve the influence of the uncertain and dynamic of node enterprise behavior on the performance of supply chain,the method based on stochastic process algebra for description,analysis,validation and evaluation of supply chain business process model is ***,the description of the uncertainty of node enterprise behavior is given using the extended Unified Modeling Language sequence diagram,and mapping rule is defined from the extended Unified Modeling Language sequence diagram to stochastic process ***,on the basis of the acquired stochastic process algebra model,the supply chain business process model is verified with Mobility ***,according to the operational semantics of stochastic process algebra,the continuous-time Markov chain,isomorphic with stochastic process algebra model,is built; and the system performance evaluation of transient status and stable status is respectively conducted in accordance with Markov transfer relations and the current state of system,obtaining the predicted performance value and average performance index value for a specific period of *** simulation experiments show that the proposed method can accurately describe the stochastic behaviors of supply chain system and interactions among nodes,effectively verify the validity of the model,and objectively and exactly evaluate design of the supply chain.

Quantity discount contracts for supply chain coordination under asymmetric information and disruptions

The quantity discount contracts are investigated for a one-supplier-one-retailer supply chain with asymmetric information when the retailer's cost is disrupted. While the retailer's cost structure is asymmetric information, two all-unit quantity discount contract models, fixed expected-profit percentage discount(FEPD) and fixed wholesale-pricing percentage discount(FWPD) under asymmetric information are proposed in a regular scenario. When the retailer's cost distribution fluctuates due to disruptions, the optimal emergency strategies of supply chains are obtained under asymmetric information. Using numerical methods, the impact of cost disruptions on decisions about the regular wholesale price, discount wholesale price, order quantity and expected profits of the retailer, the supplier as well as the total system are analyzed. It is found that the FEPD policy is more robust and adaptable than the FWPD policy in disruption circumstances.

Network topology optimization of supply chain information systems

Network topology optimization has been widely researched. Since market competition has gradually developed into competition among the supply chain information systems, the network to- pology optimization of supply chain information systems has been in urgent need. However, the net- work topology optimization of supply chain information systems is still in its early stages and still has some challenges. So a description of typical seven network topologies for various supply chain infor- mation systems has been given. The generic characteristics of each network topology can be summa- rized. To analyze the optimization of network topology optimization of supply chain information sys- tems, a numeric model has been established based on these general characteristics. A genetic algo- rithm is applied in the network topology optimization of supply chain information systems model to a- chieve the minimum cost and shortest path. Finally, our experiment results are provided to demon- strate the robustness and effectiveness of the proposed model.

：Three generic forms of governance--hierarchy, hybrid and market are proposed in the newinstitutional economics, giving an abstract description of alternative coordination and control mechanisms forgeneral use. While this theory is known as far away from being operational and specified, a few researchersin the management and organization area are trying to extend Galbraith and/or Mintzberg's organizationaldesign theories into the application of logistical coordination for obtaining a smooth flow of products along thesupply chain within and without the focal organization. In this paper, we present an explorative case study onthe design of various organizational architectures of logistics activities and their relevant coordinationmechanisms, especially internal and external contracts as one new kind of hybrid mechanisms forcoordinating effective supply chains.

A Heuristic for Resource Reconfiguration of Agile Manufacturing supply chain

The agile manufacturing is a new conception for rap id reaction to the consumers. One of its implements is establishing a virtual ente rprise (VE) around the task, where each manufacturing unit, or sub-task, probab ly have at least one resource, or referred to as suppliers. Because each manufac turing unit might be carried out in different geographical places that implies t his probably gives rise to transportation cost, the selection of resources for e ach manufacturing unit must considers not only the manufacturing price of each r esource but also the transfer cost between any two potential resources. This pap er discusses the resource reconfiguration problem with two hypotheses: 1. Permit s one or more resources to attend the same manufacturing unit as long as the tot al cost can reach its least; 2. The freight contains the initial part, that is t he freight concave. Indeed, these hypotheses are much meaningful in the real wor ld. Furthermore, to simplify the solution for this problem, we propose two conce pts: assembly tree (AT) and combinatorial mode base (CMB). Formally an AT is a c omplete production line, which can ensure the parts equilibrium, and its capacit y is subjected to the least capacity of every resources and every path in it. In the end, we propose an implicit enumeration algorithm (IEA) by the use of CMB, including it is a heuristic algorithm for integer programming (HAIP) by the use of AT. The IEA can be outlined that for a determined combinatorial mode, if it h as not enumerated, we use the HAIP to get an near optima and corresponding CMB, marking every combinatorial mode extended from the CMB as enumerated, other cont inue a new iteration. The HAIP can be outlined that for a determined combinatori al mode, there are some determined number of AT, we select an AT with the le ast slope, and select the volume of this AT to its ultimate within its capacity, iterates this doing until the needed volume reached.
