Histopathological Features of Middle Cerebral artery and superficial temporal artery from Patients with Moyamoya Disease and Enlightenments on Clinical Treatment

The histopathological features of the middle cerebral artery（MCA） and superficial temporal artery（STA） from moyamoya disease（MMD） and their relationships with gender,age,angiography stage were *** causes and the clinical significance of vasculopathy of STA were also *** clinical data and specimens of MCA and STA from 30 MMD patients were *** samples of MCA and STA from non-MMD patients served as control *** examination was then performed by measuring the thickness of intima and media,and statistical analysis was *** MCA and STA specimens from MMD group had apparently thicker intima and thinner media than those from the control *** was no significant pathological difference between the hemorrhage group and non-hemorrhage group,and between the males and females in MMD *** the age nor the digital subtraction angiography（DSA） stage was correlated with the thickness of intima in MCA and *** is a systemic vascular disease involving both intracranial and extracranial *** external carotid arteriography,especially super-selective arteriography of the STA,benefits the selection of donor vessel.

Occipital artery bypass importance in unsuitable superficial temporal artery:Two case reports

BACKGROUND superficial temporal artery-middle cerebral artery(STA-MCA)bypass helps treat cerebral ***,the STA is not available for bypass in some ***,with some technical tips,the authors introduced a bypass technique using the occipital artery(OA).CASE SUMMARY Two female patients complained of *** magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)indicated contralateral infarction from the MCA *** Diamox single photon emission computed tomography or perfusion MRI,the contralateral front parietotemporal reserve was *** transfemoral cerebral angiography,the STA was thin with a weak flow;however,the OA was *** OA-MCA end-to-side extracranial-intracranial bypass surgery was implemented instead of STA because the caliber was too *** postoperative course was uneventful in both cases,with well-maintained bypass patency and neurological stability during *** OA might be an acceptable alternative for MCA cerebral ischemic cases with an unsuitable STA.

Purpose:In this article,we will introduce a simple but effective method for primary reconstruction of total maxillary defect with superficial temporal artery based periosteal flap and CAD/CAM titanium *** and methods:4 consecutive patients with extensive tumor that involved the total maxilla were enrolled in our *** tumor resection,the total maxillary defect was reconstructed primarily with superficial temporal artery based periosteal flap and CAD/CAM titanium *** of the face was measured by postoperative ***,such as flap loss,local infection,frontalis malfunction,diplopia and hair loss,were *** 12 month postoperatively,new bone formation was evaluated by CT ***:All flaps *** CT showed that high symmetricity of facial soft tissue and skeleton was *** such as local infection,frontalis malfunction and diplopia were not *** patient experienced localized hair loss,which healed in 3 *** new bone formation was detected in 2 patients,while in another 2 patients,one received radiotherapy and another experienced recurrence within 6 ***:superficial temporal artery based periosteal flap and CAD/CAM titanium mesh was a simple but effective method to reconstruct total maxillary defect.

Enhancement Expression of bFGF in Chinese Patients with Moyamoya Disease

Objective To detect the content of the basic fibroblast growth factor in blood samples of patients with Moyamoya disease, and investigate the relationship between Moyamoya disease and the basic fibroblast growth factor. Methods This tissue microarray study included 24 cases of superficial temporal artery samples, 15 cases of Moyamoya disease, and 9 cases of normal arteries as control, and bFGF immunofluorescence assay was applied to test the samples. The number of positive cells and total cells of the muscular layer and the endothelium layer were counted separately in every picture, the positive rates were calculated, and the experimental data were analyzed statistically. Results The bFGF immunofluorescence staining of smooth muscular layer cells, intima cells and endothelial cells from the moyamoya disease group were obviously stronger than that from the control group （P0.01）. Conclusion The enhancement expression of bFGF in the Moyamaya disease group implicates that bFGF plays an important part in the pathogenesis of Moyamoya disease.

Purpose:To explore the diagnosis and treatment of traumatic external carotid branch ***:Eleven cases of traumatic external carotid artery branch pseudoaneurysms were admitted in our *** subtraction angiography was performed in all *** revealed that the pseudoaneurysms originated from the internal maxillary artery in 5 cases,superficial temporal artery in 5 cases and occipital artery in 1 *** cases of internal maxillary artery pseudoaneurysms and 2 cases of superficial temporal artery pseudoaneurysms were treated by embolization;the other 3 cases were surgically ***:Complete cessation of nasal bleeding was achieved in all the 5 pseudoaneurysms of internal maxillary artery after the endovascular *** bleeding stopped and scalp defect healed up in 2 patients with superficial temporal artery pseudoaneurysms treated by interventional *** patients were followed up for 0.5-2.0 years without recurrence of nosebleed and scalp ***:For patients with repeated severe epistaxis after craniocerebral injury,digital subtraction angiography should be performed as soon as possible to confirm traumatic *** therapy is an effective method for traumatic internal maxillary artery *** patients with scalp injuries and pulsatile lumps,further examinations including digital subtraction angiography should be performed to confirm the *** treatment or endovascular therapy for scalp traumatic pseudoaneurysm is effective.

目的 :探索颅骨修补术后癫痫发作的相关因素。方法:回顾性分析2009年1 月至2019年12 月我院神经外科收治的470例颅骨修补术患者的临床资料,术后随访0.5-2.5年,按术后癫痫发作情况,分为癫痫发作组和无癫痫发作组,比较两组患者各种因素的差异,以探寻癫痫发作的影响因素。结果:470例患者中颅骨修补术后出现癫痫发作76例(16.2%)。单因素分析显示,皮瓣凹陷,大骨瓣,术前昏迷,双侧修补,围手术期使用抗癫痫药物有统计学意义 (均P<0.05)。多因素Logistic分析显示皮瓣凹陷,大骨瓣,围手术期使用抗癫痫药物有统计学差异(均P<0.05)。
