We report a supercontinuum source generated in seven-core photonic crystal fibers（PCFs） pumped by a self-made all-fiber picosecond pulsed broadband fiber amplifier. The amplifier＇s output average power is 60 W at 1150 nm with spectral width of 260 nm, and its repetition rate is 8.47 MHz with pulse width of 221 ps. With two different lengths of seven-core PCF, different output powers and spectra are obtained. When a 10 m long seven-core PCF is chosen, the output supercontinuum covers the wavelength range from 620 nm to 1700 nm, with the output power of 11.7 W. With only 2 m long seven-core PCF used in the same experiment, the wavelength of the supercontinuum spans from 680 nm to 1700 nm,with the output power of 20.4 W. The results show that the pulse width is 385 ps in the 10 m long seven-core PCF and 255 ps in the 2 m long one, respectively, due to the normal dispersion of the PCF.

We numerically investigate the mid-infrared(MIR)supercontinuum(SC)and SC-based optical frequency comb(OFC)generations when the three optical modes(LP_(01),LP_(02),and LP_(12))are considered in a multimode tellurite photonic crystal fiber(MM-TPCF).The geometrical parameters of the MM-TPCF are optimized to support the multimode propagation and obtain the desired dispersion characteristics of the considered three optical *** the pump pulse with center wavelengthλ=2.5μm,width T=80 fs,and peak power P=18 kW is coupled into the anomalous dispersion region of the LP_(01),LP_(02),and LP_(12)modes of the MM-TPCF,the-40-dB bandwidth of the generated MIR SCs can be up to 2.56,1.39,and 1.12 octaves,respectively,along with good ***,the nonlinear dynamics of the generated SCs are ***,the MIR SCs-based OFCs are demonstrated when a train of 50 pulses at 1-GHz repetition rate is used as the pump source and launched into the MM-TPCF.

We theoretically present a method for generating an ultrabroad extreme ultraviolet （XUV） supercontinuum by using the combination of a multicycle chirped laser and a static electric field. At a low laser intensity, the spectral cutoff is extended to the 495th order harmonic, and the bandwidth of the supercontinuum spectrum is broadened to 535 eV. At a high laser intensity, the harmonic cutoff is enlarged to the 667th order, and a supercontinuum covering a bandwidth of 1035 eV is generated. In these two cases, the long quantum path is removed, and the short quantum path is selected. Especially for the relatively high laser intensity, an isolated 23-attosecond pulse with a bandwidth of about 170.6 eV is directly obtained. Finally, we also analyze the influences of the chirp parameter and the duration of the chirped pulse as well as the static field strength on the supereontinuum.

Fiber-based mid-infrared(MIR)supercontinuum(SC)sources benefit from their spectral brightness and spatial coherence that are needed for many applications,such as spectroscopy and *** this paper,an SC spanning from 2μm to 6μm is demonstrated in cascaded ZrF4-BaF2-LaF3-AlF3-NaF(ZBLAN)and As2Se3 step-index *** pump source is a ZBLAN fiber-based MIR SC laser with abundant high-peak-power soliton pulses between 3000 nm and 4200 *** concatenating the ZBLAN fiber and the As2 Se3 fiber,efficient cascading red-shifts are obtained in the normal dispersion region of the As2 Se3 *** spectral behavior of cascaded SC generation shows that the long-wavelength proportion of MIR SC generated in the ZBLAN fiber plays a critical role for further spectral extension in the As2 Se3 fiber.

Theoretical and experimental research on the effect of initial chirp on near-infrared supercontinuum generation by a nanosecond pulse in a nonlinear fiber amplifier is carded out. The complex Ginzburg-Landau equation is used to simulate the propagation of the pulse in the fiber amplifier and the results show that pulses with negative initial chirp produce the widest supercontinuum and pulses with positive initial chirp produce the narrowest supercontinuum when the central wavelength of the pump lies in the normal dispersion region of the gain fiber. A self-made line width narrowing system is utilized to control the initial chirp of the nanosecond pump pulse and a four-stage master oscillator power amplifier configuration is adopted to produce a high power near-infrared suppercontinuum. The experimental results are in good agreement with simulations which can provide some guidance on further optimization of the system in future work.

supercontinuum generation(SCG) and its application on all-optical quantization of all-optical analog-to-digital conversions(AOADCs) at the mid-infrared region in an Al GaAs strip waveguide are investigated numerically. The simulation results show that when the parabolic pulse is input, not only broader and higher-coherence SCG is obtained and a higher effective number of bits(ENOB) can be achieved, compared with the input pulse with hyperbolic-secant and Gaussian shaping. A four-bit quantization resolution is achieved along with a signal-to-noise ratio of 24.02 dB and an ENOB of3.99 bit, and the required input peak power is 760 mW.

We propose a method to generate a high-efficiency broadband water window supercontinuum with a w ＋ 3w/2 multicycle two-colour pulse. Our results reveal that the 3w/2 laser pulse can simultaneously modulate the acceleration step and the ionization step, which not only broadens the bandwidth but also enhances the yield of the generated supercontinuum. An ultra-broadband supercontinuum from 290 eV to 555 eV covering the whole water window is generated. Using this method, we expect that an isolated 62-as pulse with a minor pre-pulse can be directly obtained.

We demonstrate efficient supercontinuum generation extending into mid-infrared spectral range by pumping a twomode As2S3 fiber in the normal dispersion regime. The As2S3 fiber is fusion spliced to the pigtail of a near-infrared supercontinuum pump source with ultra-low splicing loss of 0.125 dB, which enables a monolithic all-fiber mid-infrared supercontinuum source. By two-mode excitation and mixed-mode cascaded stimulated Raman scattering, a supercontinuum spanning from 1.8 μm to 4.2 μm is obtained. Over 70% of the supercontinuum power is converted to wavelengths beyond2.4 μm. This is the first experimental report with respect to the multimode mid-infrared supercontinuum generation in a step-index two-mode chalcogenide fiber.
